Microphone or noise cancellation issues - Vibrant General

I want to know if im the only one with this problem.
Outgoing voice quality sucks on the vibrant im on my 2nd one and the other person on the both has a hard time hearing me. This happens especially in my car or in a noisy environment. Now yes i know noise is going to make it harder to hear me, but its not the fact they cant hear me over the background noise, its like the phone just starts noise canceling everything.
I'm coming off of a nokia N900 which no one ever told me they couldnt hear me. In fact the day i got my vibrant the 1st call i made one friend said whats wrong with your phone.

I'm having the same problem - i thought maybe it was the individual unit, but i bought 2 and tried the other one - same thing - the microphone quality sux - i can't believe no one else is complaining about this???

Is this the MIC problem

Hello every one !!
First Merry Christmas to all the members.
Now for the problem ,on my O2 Neo when ever I am indoors and make a call the person I am speaking with can hear my voice clearly..but as soon as I move out in the open (place where there is more surrounding noise) my voice is literally suppressed with the surrounding noise...I tried to replace my SIM today but still there is the same problem..
I checked calling other number but even my friends could not hear me they say they can only hear cars honking horns LOUD and as if I am speaking keeping my phone some 2mtrs away from me..
I even tried changing the ROM still no change..
When I checked with my local repair guy he says he is not sure but could be the MIC problem but has said he will charge some 20$
Wht could be the exact issue..has any one ever had such problem and is giving 20$ really worth as he will replace with a used Mic
I am still waiting for any feedback

Put your Vibrant's speaker to your ear...

Turn your phone to the back to the camera is facing you, put the speaker next to the camera against your ear, do you very faintly hear some kind of static coming from it? Mine does that but I have no cllue why...
Is it noticeable when playing a video/music without putting it directly to your ear?
and is it noticeable when using headphones?
Some speakers pick up radio waves.... And speakers also make static when any type of airwave data passes thru the speaker...
**try putting ur phone right next to a computer speaker, while sending/ receiving a text... Bet you'll here some static..

I noticed this too, the earpiece is supposed to be shielded from the RF. Never heard this on any phone I had since my nokia 5190.
No one listens to their phone like that, so why should it matter...
And no, I don't hear this. Maybe you left you phone in a bad place and something happened to the speaker?
Its big brother reprogramming the neurons in your brain!!!
I just realized I sounded like Steve Jobs in my last reply: "No one listens to their phone like that, so why should it matter..."
I need a cocktail, or few...
I've had this since day one. Not a big deal. It only happens while in a call and it's so faint I don't notice it anymore
my g1 used to do that
just radio interference
I can only barely hear it when the screen is on...
I could care less, no real issue that I can think of.

its the ocean dude!
OMG... I was doing this and thought I looked pretty stupid and then an email came through! Nearly made me go deaf! Ouch!
I tried it and couldn't hear a thing. But maybe I've just attended too many concerts...
Good find, yeah I hear it

I misread the op's post. I have interference coming through the normal earpiece you use for phone calls.
On a side note, google talk has a bug where it will play the alert you have set for it through the ear piece when you are in a phone call instead of making a descrete beep. Almost made me deaf today while on a call.
I haven't heard it since I flashed v5
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw

Call interference / buzzing from phone - Should I RMA?

Hello there folks, I recently purchased a LG G2. For the most part is a fantastic phone but I've noticed a few problems with it. The main ones being in the audio department.
When I am making a phone call. I can hear the same sort of noise you notice when you are making a phone call next to a speaker system. It doesn't happen all the time so it must depend upon certain factors including what network mode it's using. It doesn't actually appear to be coming from the earpiece but rather the back of the phone (near where the camera is) as I can hear it more clearly on that side plus also when I'm not in a call.
The noise actually does change depending on what I'm doing. For example, sometimes I will hear a clicking noise just when I'm browsing the web (although this is a non issue, I can only notice it in a quiet room)
So yeah, do you think I should RMA the phone over this? Do any of you guys have the same issue? Thanks.

Checkout my thread I made a while ago...
I suspect it might be it. If so. You can try RMA, but to some degree the new handset will have the same issue, might be better, might be worse.
Better not get an LG device at all, as this is not the first device with this problem....
Or just get used to it....
But once heard cannot be unheard.

I never had any such problem. I think union should return.

Anyone else hear themselves when using wired microphone headsets?

Got the 6P, love the phone, but Im having an issue. Whenever Im in a call, and Im using a wired headset/headphones (mic and earphones), I can hear the microphone. Meaning, I can hear myself. If I tap the microphone, I can hear it too. And the thing is, its much louder than the sound of the person Im on the call with. It makes calls quite frustrating because I can hear the mic rubbing up against my shirt more than I can ever hear the other person. Whats going on here? Anyone else have this problem? Ive tried several different mics and its all the same issue. Is this a problem with the phone? I just bought it, should I return it?
I don't have such issue but it was recently made aware that when using the speaker it causes "noises". Not sure if ota updates will fix it or not. If I were you and you are within the return policy, do it and order another one. Perhaps you got a lemon?

People tell me I'm hard to hear on a call?

I don't talk a lot on the phone, so it's taken a couple months to find out this issue.... When I'm talking to someone on the phone, I have to hold the phone pressed up against my face and speak a little louder than I normally do.. If I pull it away any at all, people are always saying they can't hear me or I sound really muffled.
I just called my voice mail and left a message, and this is what I've discovered as well. I knew what I said, but had problems understanding myself unless I held it right up to my face and spoke slightly louder than I've had to do with any other phone.
I heard, back in December, this was an issue and was to be fixed on the next update.... I'm now on a M29P (January release) ROM and nothing has changed.
Has anyone found this to be an issue or have you found a work around/fix for this?
I have the same issue.
When I put the phone in my neck so I have my hands free, people tell me I'm very hard to hear, and it's perfect when I hold it in a normal position...
It's quite frustrating, as I sometimes need to have my hands free..
Same here

Same happen here, it's because the noise reduction micro that the nexus 6p has back, check the small hole on the back face of the phone, when you are in a call put your finger there and they will say the same "I cannot hear you well", there are tweaks on the forums, but I have not tested yet, I used to use the speakers instead
If the phone is like 6 inches away they cant hear me, it's a noise cancelling issue, too strict.
Change in build.prop from true to disable noise cancelling.
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false
I had this with the very first call I made, but haven't had that complaint since

do this. fixed mine and my mothers problem with calls being muffled
I can't fathom how this is still an issue. I get constant, i mean CONSTANT echo. People stating they hear themselves when they talk to me. I finally downloaded build prop editor as instructed here and edited persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false as shown here. I have yet to test but it can't possibly get worse than EVERY DAMN CALL not working. Seriously , this is a phone, the tech for calls was perfected only a decade or more ago ?

Look at all the people citing this as an issue here:

Do you have any issues when in busy areas like restaurants, bars, airports etc?
the issue is still persist even after the June OTA. is there any way we can contact Google or Huawei to fix this issue permanently ?
I really love the phone but this issue is frustrating as it is a basic need in any phone. phone calls must be ok. how it can be fixed without root.
Have the issue here too even after June update. Will be rooting to edit build prop to see if it helps since I'm not sure I'll get much of any help from Huawei's support.
