If you're just updating a build, just copy your current data.img into the new build.
Anyone feeling like actually answering, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Some people say, replace the data.img others replace the data.img, ext2 and zimage and others to replace everything but the data.img. so what's the right option.

On most builds you will be ok keeping your same data.img and replacing all other files. I have found that to work best for me and work most often.

Pongster recommended just replacing the data.img when updating. I do this all the time and it works just fine.

[Q] NAND or SD - Whats faster?

Hey guys,
I know that there are some threads about this topic are floating around here but I could find a thread described with a class 10 card - what is faster? installing Android on NAND or install on SD (Class 10?)
Thaanks
Robin
nand will always be faster than sd method, regardless of card speed class
The fastest is neither..ram build is the fastest
Sent from my HD2 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
A RAM Build? Oo ;D
NAND is faster, besides SD Builds have lots of bugs
regards
Thanks Will continue to use my NAND Build

an sd build thatloads on and runs from ram..like the darkstone ram build or mdj gingerbread ram build
aah thanks for clarification But I think WM is required, right? Nope Ill stay with my good SD Build

Required for what?
If you delete WM , install a brand new Android Version (2.3.5 maybe with HTC Sense) you dunno need Wm anymore.
The fastest way is a NAND Rom with Apps on SD (on a fast one, like your class10 sd card).
Regards
P.S.:

I thought it was only DFT Stock Desire build which wasn't rooted, but it seems I'm wrong. Well logically you could just move to a new ROM I guess, MCCM HD is a very good rooted SD Froyo/Sense ROM IMO
But of course I'm not sure how you would back up your data seeing as Titanium Backup and other similar apps all require root, and the data.img cannot be swapped between builds.
Also, have you considered switching to a NAND ROM? Bit off-topic but I just thought I would recommend it
I have been on nand for ages, but it's always slower than sd. Anywayzz that wasn't my question, exactly
I just want to know if it is possible. Sd builds are always faster on my hd2.

is there not an app on the market that gains root access with a simple one click? or am i thinking INSIDE the box?
Try searching for Superuser-3.0.7-efgh-signed.zip and flash it via recovery. But be aware.. Im not sure if it works for your build. It does for mine.
Or use SuperOneClick.
Btw.. NAND slower then SD builds? Haha, very funny. The reading times were sometimes horrible slow. Especiallly installing multiple app from market and so on. Get a nand like hyperdroid and you are fine.
Nice day

Thanks for response, but look for card version.
terima kasih banyak
From countless ROMs tested by me I chose AmeriCanDroid It's the smoothest.
P.S.Don't use ROMs with SENSE, they are very slow, especially after few days using.

[Q] EU Roms

Are there any ROMs for the EU HD2 which do not need the sd-ext partition?
I'm using the phone while my sensation is in repair and I don't want to partition the SD Card.
I have gauner's on there atm but it's far too slow on my phone to a point where it becomes unusable.
Any help appreciated. Thanks =]

Nope, it depends on the Android ROM.
lite
u need to use lite roms just type in lite roms xda in google
Try this one. Android 2.3.5 Sense 1.0 NAND (base Supersonic 4.67.651.3) by Dj Danik.
Because the sense 1.0 is small, no ext partition is necessay. You still have sense, although it is an old one.

is there a difference between EU and other versions?!
every rom i installed worked fine, and i my case also in german too.

the difference is the memory.
T-Mobile HD2: 576MB RAM, 1GB ROM
HTC HD2: 448MB RAM, 512MB ROM
so the the t-mobile hd2 has a bigger internal memory for apps and you normally don't need any ext partitions
you can flash every rom on a eu-hd2...not much space..but enough for daily use
