Hi guys,
Does anyone know the registru tweaks that we should apply in order to have wifi always on (even when the device goes on stand by) for the B7610?
I did some search and all i did find was some tweaks for HTC devices.
Thanks in advance.

Wouldn`t be just easier to go to Wi-Fi Manager Options and simply Turn Off Power Save Mode ?!
No need for any registry tweaks there.
Thanks mancom.
I just missed that setting.

HD Tweak is specifically for the Touch HD.
No problem in having both. I do.
But you have some options that are present in both of them, won´t this cause problems?

It's no problem. The program that you use last and save the settings will over ride any of the settings in the other program. Basically, whichever you save last will be implemented.
Very Cool, very nice!
HD Tweaks - coz it is for the HD
Advanced Config tools killed my device i had to hard reset it
Use both as some features are unique to each but when it comes to a preference I would now choose Tweak HD
Adv Config Tool: Communications manager
I've install both.
but i hv 1 question. i enable 3G tab in communications manager using Advance Config Tool, but it doesnt work. It does not turn off/on or toggle the GSM and auto mode. Have anybody try this? thank you.

Can confirm it doesn´t work....believe it has also been reported elsewhere...
I also noticed that changing the date format in Advanced Config doesn't work. Anyone who can confirm this? Advanced Config > Menu > More Settings > TouchFLO 3D > Home page date format.
Whatever I try, it doesn't change the date format on the home screen for me, not even after a soft-reset.
The Ip phone on/of in the communication magager doesnt work as well. And some times if you change setting for comm manager, it will not display at all. how abt you guys, is it the same?
HD Tweaks is good enough for me. BTW I read somwhere thet Advanced Configuration Tools had a memory leak. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3001414&postcount=206
Does such a memory leak just occur when the application is running (in the background), or also when it is installed?
Because I am closing my applications, so I think even if there is a memory leak it shouldn't be too bad for me, should it?
now just using hd tweak.
used adv config and diamondtf3d config AND hd tweak together and got a nice soup of messed up HD.
so i like it the most.
but . . . .
i am waiting for a
hd tf3d tweaker program like HTC HOME CUSTOMIZER! that rocked with my old TyTN II!
issue resolved =)
Hi all,
This is my first contribution at XDA.
I wrote for my own purpose a set of 3 tools to quickly enable, disable and query the WIFI on my device.
My goal was to have a shortcut on my SPB Mobile Shell interface running these tools.
Maybe that could help someone else also!
I didn't test it on any other device than mine. So it works for sure on my HTC Touch Diamond, but most probably on Windows Mobile 6.1 devices.
Enjoy it!
Here are the BIN and the source code:
Thanks a lot,
much appreciated.
I was looking for this for some time.
Good work.
Thanks for that
Is it also possible to switch off WiFi again after a certain time? Or after there's no more WiFi-traffic?

I already have this functionnality integrated into my Diamond. Haven't you?
No, i've got a LG KS20. Only GPRS gets auto-disconnected after a certain time.
Ok, I could try to have a look, but not sure to know how to do that
this daylight saving in windows mobile is driving me nuts.there should be some way of permanently disabling it. or some rom cooker might be able to provide us with solution to turn it off for good. n im not talkin about editing manila file n fixing timezones. tht thing dont work for me. i want to turn it off completely. when daylight saving applies to my place i can manually add +1 to my clock . dont need windows deciding it for me.

You can disable that with Schaps' Advanced Configuration Tools.

Thread moved to Blackstone general!
Hi All,
I know we have many tools to achive this like: "NoData" and "TD2 Tools". But I do not want to use these Tools.
They are good tools. NoData will disable Data/GPRS, but Can't make WiFi on demand. When the TD2 Tool can do both (or can give me what I want), but I do not want use this ONLY for this purpose (I am not using other services of this tool).
So This is how I want:
I disable the data connection by Settings -> Connections -> Advanced and select "My Work Network" instead of GPRS/Internet connection. So this prevents me to use the GPRS Connection.
Now Can one of you suggest how should I edit the settings of the "My Work Network" to use WiFi when demand? Or is there any Registry edit that will make WiFi on Demand instead of Connect when phone is used
Edit: For Solution Goto POST#15 in this thread or Here.
Thanks.

If GPRS is disabled, wouldn't it automatically roll over to WiFi?
Set both to Internet and disable GPRS from registry.
Also have a read here.

Thanks Bruce for the response...
Disable/Enable GPRS from registry is tricky than Connection Settings Change. So I will prefer the connection change option.
And reg. Set both to internet.. What does this mean? How can set WiFi to OnDemand? I think on the Stock 6.5.3 Ondemand wifi option is not there like it used to be in 6.5 stock roms. (Like WiFi will be on only if you use it, but in 6.5.3 if you get device to ON mode from standby it activate/connect)

I think if you delete your current modem settings and create a new one w/o any server info, that will permanently disable GPRS and make WiFi your default.
TD2 Tools could set your WiFi on during standby.
Thanks again for reply. I am good with NOT using GPRS. So no worry on that side.
I only need assitance to set/configure WiFi so that it will be used/connected on demand (I dont want this to be connected any time I use my phone).
Note: I dont want WiFi to connect/start when I get my phone from standby to ON state, it should connect to WiFi ONLY When any application connect to Internet.
I hope my question is clear now
Thanks.
Any pointers???
In TD2 Tools 3 there is an option called "WiFi On Demand Service" which should turn on WiFi (if available) instead of GPRS when needed. Unfortunately this feature is disabled with the ROM I'm running, so I don't know if it works..did you try it?

Hi, Thanks for reply and if you see my first post, I know it is possible using TD2 Tools and also using NoData.
But I dont want to use the TD2 tools only for this feature , I know it is a GREAT tool for TD2 .
So is there any registry change or some other?

I have seen this in 6.5 Stock Rom from India, where the WiFi will be used when require.
Thanks.
Yes this is one of the biggest "issues" that i have using the new 6.5.5 ROMS.....I used to love the "On demand" feature of 6.5......... just hope someone can fiure it out eventually.

Yes True. The Ondemand feature of the 6.5 ROMs was prety good, but now I am looking for how can we resolve the "issue" in 6.5.3
Thanks.
Hello Experts, any clue/pointer?
Here is the solution
New ROM 6.5 with Manila 2.5 lacks this feature which you can not turn on with GAZ TD2 Tools. But here is the solution. Install the cab and enjoy your Wi-Fi on demand feature.

Thanx very much for the tip off....yes it is working with Dutty's HG9 and now fixes my broken WM6.5.5 back to the former glory of 6.5.

Hello everyone,
I just got my Hd2 few days ago and there is olny two things pissing me off with that phone.
1st is the wifi, that is disconnecting shortly after the screen goes black(battery saving i suppose). I listen to the internet radio over wifi and it stops after screen goes black. Is there any way to keep it on all the time?????
Second thing is the divx support. I have a divx 0.93 program on it bot i doesnt have all the codecs in it. What is the best divx player out there?
Many thanks in advance folks
wifi during standby can be enabled with BSB Tweaks. its a modding tool with many features.
for playing vids i would say best is CorePlayer....
DN41
thanks for replying i found many interesting options in bsb, includimg one responsible to keep wifi on in standby. i switch it on, phone asks for reboot, turns on ans that option is switched off again. Same story with startup animation, it never switches it off. ??????? is there reason why that may not work?
Its because that registry entry reverts to default whenever you reset the device.
With a reg editor go to HKLM - comm - bcmsddhd1 - parms
In that folder there should be an entry called htckeepwifionwhenunattended
change the value to 1 and your sorted.
Hope that helps.
Or use this CAB - this is the same thing like conantroutman advice you, but packed to installer.

Thanks franq thats very handy, does the cab need to be used after a reset or does it keep the setting permanently?
Forget about that weird cab, god knows what it does.
BSBTweaks wifi during standby option indeed doesn't work.
Better to use WifiNoStandby, install once, and that's it. No need to do anything again.
For divx; CorePlayer is the best option out there.
Dude hello!... This cab IT IS THE SAME like WiFiNoStandby. You think what a profit for me or anybody is posting suspicious stuff? Wake up dude and start think more like you talkin a bull ****s.
