Sorry if I mispelled meedjay I forgot the exact name. Basically when I play my music in android every few seconds it pauses and continues by itself (gets stuck). It's impossible to listen to music that way. All other apps are closed and the phone is running at full cpu. I don't know if it is my phone or a bug in that ROM.
All help is appreciated,
Danny.

Does anyone know if there is a way that the volume can be changed on the SGS i9000 without the screen turning on?
I have checked the settings of both Android and Winamp but found no option.
Also, an Internet search using Google and searching the XDA did not return a result...
I also find this annoying. I use the MIUI player

Thanks for the quick reply and information; I will definitely check that out now.
You would think that this would be a feature included with Android; although, maybe a developper would be able to create a mod with this feature. *hint hint*
Can anyone comment if such a modification would even be possible?
PlayerPro supports volume up/down with the screen off. It also supports skip forward/back with the volume keys, by holding them down. (this behaviour can be turned off and/or reversed with volume as well).
It's the only music app I've found that does this, although I wish it did pause instead.
Cheers
What firmware are you on? I'm on Darky's 9.3 (2.2) and it does this with the default music player.

THANK YOU!!!
I am using the JVB firmware currently and, as you mentioned, the default music player actually does not turn the screen on when changing volume.
Hah! All this time and I never thought to use the default music player. Go figure...
So, seems as though I should send yet another request to Winamp development.
Wish me luck...
Alright, to finish this thread off I thought I would mention that I have been using Winamp since it was released and never looked back; so, my apologies for anyone that may have facepalmed while reading this...
Suprisingly the default music player is not that bad. Actually, I think that I may continue using it instead of Winamp until an equalizer has been implemented and the volume can be changed without causing the screen to turn on. Also, the music player has features in the notification area and Winamp does not.
Either way, thanka again to everyone that helped; it is greatly appreciated.

Voodoo sound seems to allow me to adjust all music apps with screen off.

Hi the problem with the screen that turns on when pressing the volume keys occurs when you have a non stock lockscreen like widgetlocker or winamp lockscreen controls above the stock lockscreen.
I think everyone reproduce this problem in sgs

use player pro and voodo sound (voodoo control plus)
its worked like a charm
I honestly would just use the default samsung music player. It has built in eq's, has lock screen player & has a funky 5.1 button for the hell of it. (although it's debatable if it changes the sound quality for the better or not)

You have helped me to find the root cause. THANK YOU IMMENSELY!!!
The issue is that; although I use the stock lockscreen, it was disabled using the Extended Controls application because I was at work and next to my phone the entire time...
Good catch and thanks again. I owe you a coffee, beer, or something; but, in the meantime, I will click your thanks button. That's just as good, right?!
After rebooting
1) my browser returns to custom view (i set to desktop view alrdy under about:useragent)

what music app are you using? Have you attempted looking through settings to see if there's a "shake to change song" option?

I am using the built in Google music app, and no there is no option in it to turn it off.
Notifications Interrupt music for about 2 seconds, then music starts again. This does not happen on Cyanogen just wondering if there is a FIX for Sense Roms.
Is there a FIX out there for this very annoying issue? I have searched and searched with diff combination of words and no answer comes up?
If you are using the standard music app, open the app, p ress settings, then you should see a lossless ducking option, enable it. Then what wil happen is that the notification will play at a quieter right through the music, so it doeesn't stop at all.
Is this for the EVO? I forgot to mention what device I had lol...I just went to the Myn Synergy RC2 ROM from CM7 ROM. I cant find this setting on it. I want a sense ROM that doesnt interrupt music, I know Myn Warm 2 Point 2 RC5 didnt do this. Thnks for your reply
put the phone on silent. the media volume remains unchanged, and the phone will vibrate your notifications and not interrupt the music.
been doin this since stock froyo, and now running synergy rls1, but works on and rom this way.
Thx for your replys guys...I put notifications on Silent for now...until Poweramp Player includes fhe option to fix this. I just wonder why CM7 and Myn Warm 2point2 dont interrupt.

Putting thebphone on silent is the on,y wat to fix it at the moment but some developers have just found way to build their rooms so that this flaw doesn't occur

I don't think it's a FLAW, but rather intended operation. When I'm listening to podcasts in DoggCatcher, it pauses while any notifications are playing. It resumes playback after the notification sound is complete, but I don't miss words in the middle like I would if it were playing the notification over top of the podcast. It really seems like it's a system feature that requests to pause currently playing media while notifications are happening, and these apps merely respect the request.
It only does it when the headphones are plugged in, without them it will not do this.

So is there nothing to do for this then since I plug my evo in through the earphonejack to listen in the car
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
that happens to me too. i cant find anyway to fix it. turning off the notification sound just draws a silence when i get an new email or sms.
I don't think there is a fix yet if your on a sense Rom. I went crazy reading and searching about this. The Dev of Poweramp Player will be fixing this in the next update. Def. Worth the purchase without the fix...its a major plus once he can fix this.

on my htc desire i tried bbc iplayer which said i needed flash player 10. i went ahead and installed flash player but when i tried to play a program on bbc iplayer it just went straight back to my app icon menu ? ive tried other roms and most have the flash player installed in them and work with no probs this isnt the only prob ive had with flash player im also having the same probs with adobe AIR when i tried itv player, crackle etc i know what people are thinking well use that other rom then but i love the cool sensation roms.
im not sure if anyone else is having the same problem or if theres a rom fix for it or maybe you have fixed the problem any help would be great thanks and keep up the great work XDA
same problem here, when i try to play a flashvideo in my web browser (default or dolphin HD)
CM7 r2 and 1GB EXT4
some one send me a solution but it should break the weather.
iv dont tried it yet.
Ive been tryin allsorts from backing up the working flash player file on the other ROM then restoring it on this cool sense ROM but when I did that all I got where the playing program souls be was a black screen but I suppose that's a step closer has before the BBC iplayer app would just close

..yup, it doesn't work at all. Flash 10,2 is running, but very slowly. I am just wondering why no one has written something about that in the original post with the rom..or just describe the flash player as not working. ......lots of wasted time
I've given up trying diffrent ways to get it working I Totally agree why hasn't any of the developers come across this fault ? Unless they have and too are fixing it for next release who knows :s .
I was looking thru the old updates and the fixes they did to watch ROM update they released and on one of the versions it had flash player but then after that you don't see anythink else , what makes this hard also is that you can't post on the Rom page just explaining the fault, I do hope they fix the flash and AIR probs. I enjoy the sense 3.0 feel
