Hello all,
The weather forecasts on my HTC are not very accurate. I noticed that in my area the best forecasts are given by http://weather.yahoo.com. Also, many more cities are available from Yahoo.
Is there any way I could change the data source so that the weather tab retrieves its data from http://weather.yahoo.com ?
Thanks in advance for any help

I do sales and visit many many locations in a day so its great to just click on the appointment in calendar and hit the route me too it..........
If there is some secondary software that costs i wouldnt mind paying for it ( as long as i can back it up)....
My trinity arrives in less than a week, and i will need to integrate this immediately.....wm5 or wm6 upgrade, whichever will allow me to accomplish this !!!!

Oops I'm Late! v1.1 has this feature (Standard & Professional)
It was in part because of this thread that this feature was added to v1.1. It requires Microsoft Live Search (free) and allows the user to “attach a gps location to an appointment in their calendar” per the post. chavonbravo and totalpackage181, please private message me (oopsimlate) via this board w/your email addresses, your phone types and the registered owner name and I would like to give you both a free copy of the Professional version as a thank you.
To go from a calendar event to directions on the phone is a few short steps. After launching Oops I’m Late and once the location has been resolved (geocoded), go to the Destination menu, To Map and Microsoft Live Search launches w/the location as your destination. Now you can select Directions and pick the start/end to correspond to your destination. If you are not in a known location, set your start as a new location and pick Current GPS Position from the Choose Location dialog. You should be receiving directions and be on your way.
Best Regards,
oopsimlate
PS: You could also do Categories, Map, Traffic, Movies and Gas Prices based on your destination.
Is there anyway to change the frequency that HTC Home weather tab updates itself?
The same problem....
any solusions?
go to menu, weather options, and change from there
No, I know how to get it to update automatically!
I am asking how to change the frequency of how many times it will automatically check the server itself!! Is there a registry setting,s as I can't find one?
did we ever get anymore information on this? does anyone know what the frequency is set to default?
the default update seems to be just over 2 hours for me...
According to the Touch's user manual "weather information will automatically be downloaded from the AccuWeather Web Site whenever you select the Weather tab, if the data has not been updated within the last three hours. Weather data will also be downloaded every time an ActiveSync connection occurs..."
I have looked for a registry value that would control this frequency, but so far have not found it.
Hi guys!
First official post!;-)
I was wondering, and looking around on the board, but didn't find anything.
Since GPRS and other mobile internet is expense in Belgium, isn't there an application that loads the weather report for the next week, everytime you sync your Touch Dual (or whatever HTC...) to your PC/Laptop. That way, you wouldn't have to use GPRS
In my case it would drastically lower my gprs cost(since I sync every day!), and still have the eye candy
Grtz & thx very much!
also interested in this!
anyone with ideas?
spb weather is decent. i used to get a 5 day forcast from the bbc website everytime i synced.
yahoo go 2.0
yep
Yep SPB Weather i use to, and onesly is prety 95% acurate. I m for SPB.
I would like to know how the accuweather tab in touchflo3D updates the weather. Is it a link that can also manually be started?
The thing is that I only use wifi. I use a schedule to turn on wifi every morning to sync my work mail. I would also like to update my weather in this timeslot if possible.
So is there a .exe or .lnk file that I can use?
does anyone know if it is possible to add locations to the weather application that are not in the application database. the reason I ask is that the weather application always seems to work for "my location" but the location cannot always be added permanently as it doesn't exist in the application database. You would think it would be possible to update it as the location obviously exists in whatever online database is used to obtain weather data.
