i was using tmo stock rom with the radio that came with it on matt+leo 1.2 and got no sleep of death. i now use chukydroidrom with radio 2.10 on matt+leo 1.4 and i get sleep of death all the time. Anyone with a good rom/radio combination or solution?
If u weren't using the chuckydroid rom i would advise u to use it but i cant help u now since u already use it
Maybe change the radio ..
The regular chuckyrom works well on my HD2 with 2.12.50 radio. Only issue I have is when on the phone there is an echo but I hardly use the phone portion of the phone anyways :/
This is with Darkstones HD2 Froyo V1
FIRST WORKING CONFIG FOR ME!
- good sound in calls
- no lag, if many many apps in background, there could be a little lag, just press windows button in that case and it works again
- very responsive
- no sense (sorry )

yes keep us updated, I've been using this config for about 4 to 5 days, the only thing that doesn't work is my navigation.. I don't know why.. Maybe it's the android build. Gonna take a look at it. damn, I have great sound now, never thought it could be this awsome. very clear, no robot/echo, on both sides of the line. And I shut my phone down every night, never had any problems after rebooting, since I had this with ALL OTHER CONFIGS, I guess this is worth a try. I don't miss sense a lot, this is much faster.

Hi everyone
What is peoples oppinion on full winmo roms like VBN or Energy and also using Android? Or do you go for the lite versions which should be more Android friendly?
Currently i am running VBN Droid Rom but i am missing a few features in the lite versions... Wondering to go back to the full roms but just thought i would ask around what your experience is with the full winmo roms compared to the lite ones
Thank you all
radio and rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651729 is a great full tweaked rom that works perfect with android!! give it a try youll love it!! i used lite roms for android and the elegancia works just as good! more important than the rom is the radio it will make all the difference! 2.12.50.2_02 works best for most http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787!!!
i use a full windows rom and dont see any need to swap

Ditto here.
Always been an Energy Rom user, but thought I would give ChuckyDroid a go, as basically using Android as my day to day OS.
I found that with ChuckyDroid I was having more screen freezes and hard freezes (pull the battery), so switched back to Energy.
I believe there isn't much difference between the full and lite roms when running Android, its just down to personal experience and what works for you best.
As long as the Rom is Android friendly, and has the correct files cooked in to stop Robovoice etc, you won't see much difference apart from mainly the boot up speed if your booting straight into Android. As there was a considerable difference booting to Android using ChuckyDroid compared to Energy. ChuckyDroid was lightening quick.

Please define "Android friendly", or is that what chef just saying to make you feel comfortable, more confident to use with Android?
I cooked my own rom from the kitchen, I just unchecked this, unchecked that....then... you know....,I know nothing about Linux, Android, and my rom just run perfect with any Android build.
oh, I put a line says " this rom specially made to run Android", maybe that make my homemade rom "Android friendly".

There are several .dll files that need to be in your build.... Im searching for the thread, as Im no expert but have read on this.
These files may already be in your base ROm when uploading, but the Roms that were having the problem with Robovoice I believe these files were added and if not fixed the problem were part of the reason it was fixed.
Edit....given up searching for the posts (so many to look through with key words such as robovoice, files, rom, android etc) but from what I can remember it was dll files taken from a stock 2.10 rom, which helped with the problem.
Edit again....Found the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=757914 Actually reading back it doesn't give a definite answer if theses files did work, but it sounds like they did for pkoper.
I've tried ChuckyDroid & it was very good if you're running Android 24/7, but it's VERY lightweight. I'm using VBN now because I wanna have a usable WM rom just in case something happens to my Android installation(card dies, gets corrupted, etc.) & I'm not able to fix it right away. I've noticed no difference in performance upon switching roms. That said- I got robo-voice BAD on the stock WM rom, and it went away as soon as I flashed a custom rom.

I'm using a pre-Android EnergyROM for WinMo and it works fine. So not so sure about the correct files being cooked in?
One thing I've found is that Sense will get corrupted for some reason. So make sure you disable Sense (and then restart) before jumping into Android.
It'd work a few times, then on my 4th or whatever reboot into Android, Sense would decide to die. Not sure why, as Android isn't meant to interact with WinMo, but it would.

I just flashed to the leaked 3.14 update, and it does indeed work with Android. I'm booting the ShugCRAFT 1.5 distro, and i've got 3G data, working voice and MMS. Seems that the quest for a stock ROM with working drivers is close to over. The leaked test ROM seems to be fairly stable aswell. I will report back if I run into anything strange. You can get this new leaked ROM from here:

Ha!! YES!!
Finally getting somewhere i posted asking if anyone else had flashed the new leaked stock rom. good to see another thread about this. i have been using Mdeejay's Evo build since yesterday battery life is better wifi works nothing new to report.

About 5 or 6 pages in, there is a multi-mirror link for people who have issues with RapidShare (like me).
I just installed this new stock and it does not support the darkstone froyo 2.1 that I already had installed on my SD card. I do get 3g and WiFi, but I also get the robot voice when calling, so it's useless to me. I'm gonna give a couple of other builds a shot, just in case and report back.
Wow, talk about fast! The new 3.14 seems to blow away the 2.15 in terms of speed. EVERYTHING seems faster. It also has some new stuff included such as Shazam and a new HTC Music client...
As a geek, I gotta say that having 3.14 as a release version is uber cool
So I downloaded and installed the new darkstone Desire HD Beta-2 build and it runs flawlessly. Err... well other than the already known issues such as camera, ringtone, etc.
I hate the bloatware, but being back to stock is awesome as well
--Edit--
So yeah, it was cool, but I decided I really wanted to go back to AthineOS to get away from the bloatware.
I had installed the new stock via microSD, which over-writes everything including SPL. This meant that, because HSPL3 is iffy with newer versions, I went ahead and downloaded the current official ROM from T-Mobile and flashed it via usb first. Then I was able to safely HSPL3 and then flash my fav ROM.
Overall, the new stock is very rocking and I can't wait for someone to cook a stripped-down ROM based on it

is HSPL needed to run android in hd2?
Do you think this is the right thread for 'question'?
Normally HSPL is needed because you need to flash the radio rom suitable to run android.
as long u using 3rd party rom u need it..
I don't believe it is "needed" to simply run Android. Now if you want it as your daily OS, I would strongly suggest it. You will be able to flash the recommended Radio / ROM combination so that you get the most functional build possible.
Without the right radio or ROM, you will have some unwelcome bugs.

since the day i bought hd2 until now it never been hspl yet in other word it still original official hd2 rom, here the descriptions:
os: 5.2.21869
manila: 2.5.19211619.0
rom: 1.66.707.1
radio: 2.07.51.22_2
protocol: 15.32.50.07u
I have stock T-Mobile US HD2 and I have not put HSPL or anything... it's even GSM locked to the carrier...
I managed to get FroyoStone series to work just fine; mccm build FRG33 and FRG 83 build as well... besides that I did try some builds like shubcraft or whatever the name is and it did not want to work due to screen freezes - so I just went back to mccm 1.5
sorry double post

anyway our advice is already stated there..
u want to install or not is depend on u..
any brick on ur phone will be responsible by urself..
You can run Android on a stock phone, but just be ready for any of the various annoyances with doing so, most common is audio issues like robot voice during calls. I tried it on stock Tmous HD2 for a while before finally loading up custom roms.
You might get lucky and not have the issues.

check my signature; I've started a thread for VBN Rom, as it's down, look for deamansink...
Most winmo roms will work fine. Getting a light winmo rom doesn't make any difference ... if you're still gonna use winmo, you might as well get a full rom. Only difference that winmo roms may make with android is based on the base used in the winmo rom, not the size or what's included in the rom.

I don't completely agree with you. When I switched to vbn at first and later to Ozdroid, I noticed that there is a difference in startup time. Lighter WM Roms are booting quicker IMHO, which is an advantage if you want to start booting Android as quick as you can...
Sincerely,
Mac

And that''s it, right? Used to have oz and vbn. Now, I am using Dutty's com3 v10. Same booting time with oz and vbn and I also get 4-6mA on standby.
I've used VBN, my own cooked, NRG, and every ROM you can imagine.
Honestly, the best for battery life, speed, and working everything seems to be Energy with a 2.15.50 radio.
