need some advice

I started doing some of the research that is necessary to do flash the ROM on the t-mobile wing. I need some advice on the best ROM for me... I'll tell you my requests and if anyone who is a little more experienced could help me out it would be much appreciated.
I've been looking at a few different ROMs including the OpenTouch v7.7 and Touch-It. The only things I'm interested about are: I read that OpenTouch will not work right with landscape, does this cause problems using the keyboard on the wing. Is there a ROM that provides better support for landscape?
What about reliability? I understand a lot of these ROMs are experimental, but this is going to be my primary phone for a while? What ROMs are more reliable and stable. OpenTouch does appear to be the most widely used one, but is it secure?
Normally I wouldn't post things like this, but I have tried reading around to get more information without much luck...
The only thing you can to is flash flash flash. Just try everything. See what you like. Thats how all of us did it.
Thats all you can do is try them all you know your taste

1. I recommend updating your ROM by downloading any of the custom ROMs in the ROM Development section. There are tutorials on there to guide you. Custom ROMs provide a lot of eye-candy and stability (though they usually have their own bugs). You should try multiple ROMs until you find one that best suits you. You could probably try the EnergyROM series (like the one in my signature).
2. (Same as above).
3. You could download a registry editor (do a search on XDA to download one) (these are built-in to most ROMs) and change the values found here to improve your camera. Though, I do think the camera is still sensitive to even the slightest motion.

[Q] HD2, Android confusion?

Hey guys.
I'm a little confused about Android on the HD2. I've done a little research, but haven't found full answers, could someone clear this up for me a little bit? Sorry to sound like a idiot, I'm just getting in to ROM's and stuff.
1. Is there a FULLY Working Android ROM, with no lag etc. for the HD2, If so, what version is it? If not, what's missing, and will it effect usage majorly?
2. Do you have to ROOT it first, or just use a Bootloader, as I only really know about Rooting on Android, and is it easy to ROOT A HD2?
3. If I do put Android on there, is it easy to revert back to Windows mobile, and if I keep changing the ROM, will it damage the phone?
I'll be getting one on T-Mobile UK If that helps.
Thanks to anyone who can help

there are many threads with guide and faq... however:
1. there is 90% "working" android rom... you can check it out the builds, i use darkstone HD2Froyo_V2.1 and I like it... on top of rom topics chef explains what works and what doesn't work.
2. just use a Bootloader, rom is already rooted
3. you don't delete winmo, android starts on sdcard after winmo starts (haret.exe). you don't need to flash any.
sorry for my english
try to read faq & guide threads for instructions
cya!

Oh okay, so its sort of like Dual-booting then? And is there a guide for using the Bootloader etc?
And, if I just removed the SD Card, would it boot in to Winmo? And are people still making Android ROM's for the HD2?
Thanks
Your phone will automatically boot into windows whenever you reboot your phone unless you have a dualboot program installed and then you get asked the option.
i've been running the darkstone HD2Froyo_V2.1 android rom also and i like it too, although i still primarily run my HD2 in windows and just goto android for some of the apps and have a look about in the market etc...
Its an awesome feature and has made the HD2 which i already loved, just plain awesome...
So this ROM that you're both talking about, does it have calls, texts etc? Anyone got a list of what works and what doesn't?
Also, how hard is the Dual boot program to install?
The dual boot program is a .cab, so its retarded easy to install.
Yes, calls and texting work. But you'll get a robot voice unless you flash your WM to a cooked rom.
I'm also using darkstone's froyo w/ sense. Its the only version that has proven to provide me with consistent stability, and I currently use it as my primary o/s. Granted its not as smooth as mattc leo 1.6, it has yet to give me a SOD or lock up on me. The battery drain was too rediculous for me at first, but I flashed my radio to 1.11 and it's been great ever since.
Minor drawbacks: screen will lag from time to time (small 3 second freeze, easily fixed by lock/unlock), 3 mp camera is a bit of a set back, and the Facebook integration is limited to the people you've only recently become friends with v/s your old friends.
For me, these are minor set backs. I came from an iPhone, so WM felt limited in some areas that Android has let me feel free in again! (Both great os's though)
You're going to have to play around with it to get the best personal results.
Check out some of the threads talking about different combinations.
Good Luck!
I was going to to grab the spoon.
But it seems that everyone has done it for me. Take a look around.

Wow, thanks for all your help. Do you know if there are several guides for all these? I'm not to experienced with all these :/
There's literally a *how to* guide stickied on the android forum. Don't get how all these noobs keep missing that. It literally tells you everything step by step... Like seriously...

[Q] RAM, Gingerbread, Adds

Hello,
I have a qeustion, might be a stupid one, but then again, im just a casual user.
I have used the Darkstone superRAM build, and im amazed by the speed and battery life with this build. (actualy everything with it is very good, exept the white status bar .. bleh).
What i would like to know, is there a way to convert the new Gingerbread to superRAM or is there some special coding of the kernel involved (probably)?
Also i have read something about changing android to add free, something with a host file, but cant seem to find it anymore.
And also i would like to know, with the superRAM there is a stock android build with the white status/notification bar, wich i dislike, cause black looks beter to me (dark theme wallpaper etc).
I have been reading alot of topics to change this, but most have alot of work (flashing with clockworks, wich i dont understand etc) with this, anyone a sollution how to change this?
Thanks.

[Q] Potentially Reverting Android back to WM6.5 (and battery queries)

EDIT - Not sure how I missed the post below - Sorry.... Help with second point would be much appreciated though]
Don't panic, I don't actually want to go back to WM6.5 just yet
Huge apologies if this has already been answered, I did have a little hunt, but couldn't find a direct clarification of my question.
Firstly, WOW, it's incredible the amount of work you have all done to get Android running on the HD2, and I am an instant convert.
I am currently using the Rafdroid SD ROM which is working well for me, but it can sometimes be a little bit on the slow side (I'm assuming that this is due to it being an SD boot rather than NAND) and I've noticed that the battery life is acutely painful.
Two questions:
[EDIT - Have just seen this bit answered in the thread below... DOH]
1) If I 'make the plunge' and flash Android onto my HD2 is it possible to use one of HTC roms (from the website direct) to restore WM6.5 - i.e if i don't like or screw it up (latter more likely) can I get it back to the T-Mobile (UK) latest ROM?
2) Will the battery life and speed be better when it's a NAND installation? - I know that it's ROM dependent, I'm looking at the HyperDroid GBX ROM, but I really don't know much about any of the ROMs. Does anyone have any suggestions (not that it's that easy to suggest for others) - primarily it's for use with a Microsoft Exchange Server (if that changes anything).
Thank you so much in advanced for your help!

1. If you will use Nand Android, you must firstly flash/install SPL 2.08HSPL. When you want to go back to Winmo, you can always do it via SD card method. You can flash Winmo ROM from boot loader.
2. Battery consumption is still the same, I think. It may depend on the rom version.
Cheers
battery comsumption in a nand build is way better. Atleast in my experience.
yea in NAND my battery consumpion is WAY better.
maybe not all builds but i'm sure the hyperdroid GBX should be also
