Hello all.
Since I have my TP2 I thought by myself what kind of app could I really use.
I have been searching on the net for quite a while but couldn't find it.
My main sports and hobby is archery and basicly I am looking for an App where I can keep my scores, personal records etc.
Does an app like this exist already?
Normally one would say this is quite simple but in archery you have to consider the different distances and also the amount of arrows used per distance.
For example for a FITA round one shoots 90 meters, 70 meters, 50 meters and 30 meters.
Each distance has 36 arrows where on the first 2 distances one shoots 6 arrows in 1 end and on the last 2 distances one shoots 3 arrows in 1 end.
Then there are the indoor distances like 18 meters and 25 meters those distances are shot with 30 arrows with 3 arrows in 1 end.
Anyways my question is, is there already an app for this?
Freeware prefered ofcourse

I would suggest setting up an Excel Mobile spreadsheet.
Yes there are free ones cant remember names of the ones i tried.. One that is a pay app is bowbuddy. http://www.bowbuddy.com/ and there is another i cant remember the name i used in a tourny but that worked only on my fuze sure it may have been updated by now.
There is also another one that has it all , but also one i wanted to buy helps calc ur arrows and fps etc and has software to print out a tape for your sight ready to go.. thats if you dont use pins, something like atoxonics or pivot sight.
Ill try to find it.
Edit.

I've been playing Teeter when I'm a bit bored and have reached Level 29.
What level have you achieved?
I love how theres only 32 levels, yet people are addmitting to playing over 41
You can EASILY tell they are lying. Teeter goes up to level 32.
I got fairly stuck on 31 and decided it wasn't worth the stress of trying to complete it since it's only a game.
I have played over 41 levels, donot know the exact number.... So 32 of original game and rest from here, extra Teeter levels, see next post.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2851032&postcount=32
I just finished 32 level, while waiting on putting winter tires, after hundreds of tries I found shortcut and finished the game, whole game takes under 40 minutes. Last level (32) is really hard. I just wonder what makes people vote they reached >32 level. Do they compensate for small penises?
I'm stuck on 30.

Thnx I didn't know that there were extra levels. Gonna try it
my best (to finish level 32) is a little more than 27min and about 100 tries, indeed, level 32 has a shortcut, but the first time I finished it without the shortcut.
Cool that I can create extra levels, gonna try that now
Finished from level 1 to 31 in about 20 minutes but level 32 is really tough...
YES finally managed to do it though after 3 attempts.
..
..
..
..
Only joking
I think it must of took at the very least 50 attempts. I don't know what the shortcut is but took the long way round. Always seem to lose it on the last hurdle (last bit of the maze) which was very frustrating.
I have done them all in 20mins so far, the last level is so frustrating tho!

17:46, with 8 attempts...finished all levels!
Heh i managed to pass last level(32) in one attempt. As far as I read about some shortcut, I was looking for it and I managed to use it right on first time. I know I am lucky boy
Hmmm, wheren´t 35 levels? 32? Dunno... reached several times the end. It´s easy... there should be a limit of balls to use

How did you succeed to install the new levels?
I tried the 2 aplications to create new levels and teeter hangs trying to load them
on my diamond i did the 32 levels for under 7 mins, using all the shortcuts there are (well they are about 3 or so )
yeah that record is real, but takes some practice

my fastest on my touch pro is all 32 in 6:31 shortcuts rock
i just wish they would come out with a stable version of the extra 18 for the tp so i can beat all of them.
Level 21 and then i started to lose the will to live
finished the game but oh my god that last level looked impossible.
The true definition of luck can only pass it.
Hi, I have an idea for an app but lack the knowhow to create it.
It is a relatively simple idea, an app that allows you and your friends to connect to a "racing track" (Made on google maps) and for it to show your friends speed, distance in front of you and the remaining distance of the track.
I have not been able to find anything similar to this on the market. If anyone thinks this app would be useful/cool and wants to develop it please let me know.
I like thw way your thinking but this has sooo many flaws that would just not make it marketable.
Is this for being on foot? If so, not bad, but quite dull I imagine.
If its by car, then youre inciting speed, using a mobile whilst driving, and not paying attention to the road.
Maybe if you had a start position, and then the end position, plus the route was secret til tou reached certain checkpoint?
posted direct from the legend that is the x10i... the fastest processor, the slowest response...
Lmao. It would be sweet. But I can't help think of death and a complete disregard for traffic laws while using this type of app. Hilarious.

If you are talking about running, I believe CardioTrainer has a feature to race people around the world. I have not tried it out.
i think (hope) that dr_ownage it's referring to something like trackaroo but reference to your friends / anyone who use the app on the same track.
For example I used to record and post videos when "racing" in Monza Gp Track once a year; it would be good to see pals times in real-time while driving and "race" a little bit.
Sometime you are half a lap distant of your pal and no one wants to stop and wait for the others (yep we are competitive and we have payed fair enough to waste even a single second).
+1 for the idea, I could've helped (I'm a java developer) but I have my hands full with other projects.
Regards
It does not necessarily require the disregard of laws. You see there would be certain areas of road where the speed limit is far beyond what someone would/could reach around an uphill curvy road.
On google maps you can make routes could we use this predetermined route as our race track?
Could we display this map on the bottom half of the screen?
on the top half could we have rectangular boxes filling the screen in width displaying |driver name|current speed|distance in front|
eg.
|John|60km/h|50m |
|Matt|62km/h|25m |
|Me |58km/h|-----| (display this one larger)
|Mike|65km/h|-20m|
then if mike we to over take me, his name would swap position with mine.
I was thinking there should be an emergency button so if someone has a problem you can hit the button and their name on everyones screen would start flashing so people know to stop and wait.
Could the times and tracks be stored and recorded, for ghost racing (beat your own times or friends time without them been there)?
I dont think this app would mean you have to break the law it would just be a good way to go driving together in general. There are lots of roads where the speed limit is FAR above what you can reach around when your going uphill and around a corner.
Sadly I noticed that the magnetometer of my SGS2 is rather imprecise...
In fact, even just after a lot of effort spent on calibrating it, I notice this:
- With the phone horizontal on a table, I point it to a direction that the compass indicates to be the "south" (exactly 180 degrees), but it appears to me that the phone is actually pointing something like 10 - 15 degrees SE.
- Then, I turn the phone exacly 180 degrees on the table, expecting at least the compass to show 0 degrees North. Well... it doesn't!!! It shows 12 degrees West...
Another thing: I noticed that if I turn the phone at constant angular speed, The compass indication does not! It speeds up next to the north and slows down considerably next to the south, indicating that there is an error the entity of which is related to the absolute orientation of the device.
And last, the indication is a bit unstable. It continuously jumps left and right by +/- 2 degrees.
It does all above with all the applications I was able to test that use the compass.
So in the end, my question is: is all this "normal"? Because really, I can't see any use of a compass with such a bad precision!
118 reads and not a single answer ... yes, ok... I may be a "little" paranoic...
But sure that no one except me cares about the precision of the magnetometer?
I can only share my personal experience and similar questions if this helps at all:
my compass seemed pretty accurate until I read your post and tried to compare with an analogue one. Well, it seems off to the West by about 10 degrees. But than again, I can neither trust the analogue one since it's just the first thing to have turned up, and no one's really verified it. I guess the only way to be sure is to compare GPS and compass direction data in compass app, which I'll attempt tomorrow. Plus, even within a meter from the analogue compass the digital one may start complaining for abnormal magnetic field. They seem to jam each other quite strongly, so there's no chance of visual comparison.
What worries me more, however, is that it never settles down. Like you said, it always trembles somewher in +-2 degrees, which is especially noticeable in Star Chart app (almost impossible to focus on a star long enough to tap it for information popup), and also visible when I disable filtering in compass app.
Hope someon more informed clarifies this for us.
I think you should just be happy that such a small MEMS chip is able to sense the magnetic field of the earth and give you a general idea where north is.....
If you read comments for star chart on the market, you'll notice how there are no complaints of picture trembling, which gives me all the reasons I need to worry about the quality of my particular unit. With the compass always moving around in a sector of 5 degrees it's virtually impossible to use any augmented reality apps, unless they have some filtering features (which they rarely do).
As a side note, after posting yesterday I took a second glance at the analogue compass I've been using as a reference and noticed that it's creator believed a circle to have around 400 degrees. Did another test, this time not relying on the numbers and now I'm pretty confident that the digital one is accurate.
But it still trembles all the time. In fact, if I look at sensor readings in *#0*# both gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer tremble a lot while the device lies on a steady surface. I should probably make a video when I get home, and also check the display units in a local mall to compare.

Well, apparently, it seems to be normal for sensors on sgs2 to tremble this much -compared with a display model at media markt... Sad, but at least I won't have to exchange my unit

Hi Artik. Yes there actually seem to be something wrong on how the galaxy s2 sensors are handled, and it looks like it is a firmware issue. Read this thread:

Hello,
Got a gs2 and still have my incredible s so I tested GPS precision: got 4 meters for the HTC and not stable and lower precision 18/20 meters on gs2.
Is something adjustable with new kernels?
Another two questions : about voice low quality ( someone said that it depends from noise reduction filet) and low volume during a call are these issues already addressed by some roms?
Low volume and quality with earphones is addressed too?
Thanks!
GPS is a disappointment. On my old pda asus a696 precision is much better. I wish gps was working better for me, I use it with sport tracking software. I changed ntp server, played with all kinds of gps apps, updated AGPS data, helped a bit but fix is still slow and precision is almost always more then 30m.
If anybody saw an improvement on some ROM or kernel, please let me know.
Attached my device info.

No as no reported flaw in GPS so nothing with GPS altered that i have seen.

i am honestly very disappointed with the sgs2's gps precision. tested it side by side with the HTC Chacha...rebooted, cleared gps data and redownloaded it (Gps status app), then run test on both devices for abt 2-3 mins.
SGS2 7/7 satelites, error 40m!!!
HTC Chacha 10/10 satelites, error 6-10m!!!
frm both rooted 2.3.4 and stock firmware ...
I agree that the precision (error) is bad on the S2. However, in my experience, when I open maps and look at the location, it seems to be just about dead on. Meaning, even though there is often a blue circle, the center of the circle is extremely close to my actual position. So, I think the issue may be with how the phone calculates the "error" and not with any real inaccuracy. It feels like the reported error value is double what it should really be based on my position on google maps. This is just my experience, ymmv.

I agree with this. I was puzzled at first too when I looked at the accuracy reading, but then I realized that the actual positioning was much better than the reported 'error margin'.
The GPS itself is fine, but whatever algorithm they use to report accuracy is flawed..or should I say, could be better.

GPS accuracy is a statistical estimate of the maximum error and many assumptions must be made when calculating this, and I don't think different manufactureres does this in the same way.
So a HTC could very well report better accuracy than SGS2 but provide worse position (or vice versa).
Here is an interesting article about GPS accuracy, it mainly concerns static accuracy (reported accuracy in specifications), but the problems are basically the same for dynamic accuracy.
http://www.romdas.com/technical/gps/gps-acc.htm
When I've logged driving on a highway with SGS2 (with my tracks, i e no map matching or other filtering) the position is often within the correct lane but still SGS2 reports 10 meter accuracy (good GPS reception). But once in a while the position drifts a bit further away, mabe 5-10 meters. I would guess I get similar results with other modern smart phones with good GPS even if they report 4 meter accuracy. What phone is wrong in this case? The one reporting 4 meter accuracy that often is correct or the one reporting 10 meters that is even more often correct?
So please compare the phones by logging routes simultanously with "my tracks" instead. I've seen very few tests doing this, and SGS2 seems to do very well in the few tests I've seen
But not only the accuracy is an issue but initial fix is very slow compared to other phones. Even in hotstart mode when it had fix ten minutes ago it still most times takes over a minute to get a fix vs 7 to 10 secs on my Sgs 1

I had this problem and found that disabling wifi with data enabled led to much faster first fixes - I assume because the a-GPS data could be obtained more quickly direct from the carrier rather than over the wifi?
Also my UK phone shipped with a US NTP time server. I have since rooted and used GPS Aids to change this and refresh the other GPS data and now have no problems getting a first fix, usually in under 10 seconds.
Last week i traveled to Bosnia and used GPS on my SGS2 for the first time. I have only good words for it as with IGo it was very accurate (in a meter). But as i see with Google maps app GPS is wrong up to 20m.
I was also concerned about the gps first cause it seemed to show very inaccurate results and I have used gps with running a lot. However after using it to track my tracks I have to say that its 98% perfect. Also used it to navigate while driving and its also perfect. Samsung has just done something which makes it look like it would be more inaccurate but reality it is not.

same here. I tested GPS performance a few times when i was walking (relatively static), the error was never under 10 meters, however it did not have a problem tracking my position.
In the other hand, I did have some long long GPS locks from time to time, once in a while the GPS just cannot seem to find my position, despite the fact that I am standing outdoors with no tall buildings around.
Overall experience, just acceptable.
Hi,
I am experimenting with Mesh that I am filling in with colors.
I end up with 900 triangles that are have positions updated about 20 times per second.
On PC it works flawlessly, on my Nexus 4 its rather slow.
Is my code crap, or its too much to render real time?
Thanks!
Are your calculate the new position with the delta time (time between this and the last frame)?

Hi ,yes I use delta time, and the actual new positions are calculated fine for my triangles.
e.g if I put it as wire frames (outlines only) it renders quick enough.
But if I make them filled with color, all halts to grid
I thought 1st person shooter games do way heavier calcs, and seem to survive fine...
Mine item is more like a water simulation, and to look decent it needs about 800 triangles filled at least with solid
color no transparency... any hints please?
