Coming from an iPhone 3G, I loved the way i could download paid apps from the apple app store for free with appulous. Is there any way you could download paid apps for free that are in the Windows Mobile Marketplace like i did with the iPhone? I have an HTC HD2. Thanks Guys.
No discussion about piracy on xda-developers.

No warez or asking for warez will be tolerated on xda, consider this a warning.

I found some cracked or hacked or prepaid "what ever u wanna call it " apps in the internet. So my question is: Is it okay to download it? or i might have some problems with android or google?

It's piracy.
And moreover, android people are introducing a new licensing mechanism where the app can lookup whether it's actually bought and paid for, or not - http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/07/licensing-service-technology-highlights.html

1. post here, not bad
You think Android devs are rich people, havin houses in Hollywood Hills, right ?!
Support devs and you get good apps!
to answer your question, no it will not break your phone...as a former notorious "cracked" app downloader (since paid for the ones I support and uninstalled the ones I do not use due to my commitment to the community as a user) I can't wait for this licensing to be widespread...I see too many people handing out links to piracy sites and also linking the damn things in app comments...but yea.
it won't break ur phone...

thx for ur reply man. For the misunderstanding, I love android, in fact i wish it would be the best mobile software in the future "if it's not now " but android should at least do something to those people who handing out links because it's really tempting
Common Sense
Android is probably one of the platform where application are priced the cheapest I have seen, so no, downloading an pirated application will not break your phone but it will not make the android platform any better either.
If developer can't make money why would they keep trying, as an example, A symbian chess prg cost 14$, on android it's 3.99 if I remember correctly so yes I pay for my apps.
The platform is still new, it has great potential, site like the one that are advertised can hurt development badly, there's a difference into giving your sister one copy of an application you have and making it available to everybody.
both are piracy but at a much different scale!
I will be really happy when I heard that the maker of an application I use everyday has made 1 millions knowing I contributed 1$ to it...
About Google piracy solution, I would be better off without it I am against all form of DRM, we will see...
P.S.
If you press and hold on a comment you can mark it as spam in the market...
[Sarcasm] Its perfectly fine. Google promotes it and so do the developers. If you read the forum rules, you'd have never asked such an obvious question. [/Sarcasm]

Don't do it! Let's support our Android developers because by doing so the Android platform will get better and that benefits us as users. All paid apps can be refunded in 24 hours, which is awesome in my opinion because if I buy an app and it doesn't work for me I can always get a refund so I never feel like I wasted my money. So do that, buy an app, try it and if it works for you keep it. Don't pirate it. Plus you get get regular updates to your app and the latest version always by purchasing it rather than pirating.
my 2 cents
By downloading cracked apps, you'll never know what was done to the app.
It's so easy for a cracker to gain access to your phone root permissions (if you are rooted like many of us are) via a cracked app. How will you ever know?!
Unless you yourself are a developer, then you'd know what to look for.
Most users have no idea WHAT to look for, and will download a fun looking app just because their buddy recommended it. For all you know, it's sending your contact list, SMSs, and other private information to some shanty-shack in China.
That's why Google made it an option in the Androidâ„¢ Operating System to allow or disallow Market Apps. I think it's great that we are allowed to do that *cough*AT&T*cough*restrictions*.
"You wouldn't download a car!"
Don't get cracked apps. They make your balls shrink or your boobs sag!
Also never ask about cracked apps on a forum with lots of developers, you won't make many friends...
While I completely agree that piracy is bad for developers and the community in the long run, it is sometimes very frustrating for users like me. I live in India and have no access to the paid apps in the market.
I would love to pay for apps like psx4droid and a good chess program, but I have no option to do that. And these apps are not available directly from the developers sites as well.
I really hope that Google opens up the market to a wider audience. It is a win-win for everybody.

If they are not available either then I guess you are a bit more justified but you will still burn in hell
or something similar...
Can we lock this thread? The answer is morally no. Technically it will probably run but you risk a trojan and will not get updates automatically.
For people in countries without paid apps, search for Market Enabler, this has been covered multiple times in the past.

thats wut i dont like about "cracked" apps. you wont get the updates. its much more easier to pay the $3 for the app n just get notifications for updates rather than search around the web for the updated apk. in my opinion, paying the $3 is much easier knowing u will get the updates n will feel morally right

First i want to start by saying im sorry that you all are not understanding what the 5 bucks is for . its hard to find things on the net and in the forums. When i first started i came here to xda i soft bircked my phone from a rom so i asked for help here and got yelled at, called names and told im posting in the wrong room . I didnt know, but still someone could of helped me instead i was made fun of and laughed at for my spelling here at xda . so i went out and found out alot about phones made a couple videos and poof everyone found me ....i was helping so many people, my phone was none stop ringing but i picked up . i helped them out by telling people where to go, how to get what they want was hard so i made a site it was free all day up intill 5 months ago . see the site was coasting me 250 a month that i did not have but people still needed help they tryed to come here but people where mean cuzz where noobs . so thats why at akaskriller.com it coast 5 bucks . everyone knows these roms are free on the net there not paying for the roms there paying for a just cause for helping people in need no matter what . for the roms i put out i say i hacked theme or themed them out . its fun to theme them out and help people ..
so im sorry if u all got it wrong and i give back to the devs that i take the most calls on lol but for real you all stop being silly and saying bad things about me.
and we pay peoples bills that can not ... ask your selfs y do you all care so much what others do for help?
seriously? why hide the roms behind donations then? why not post it freely and market it as a pay support site? why post paid apps for free behind the donation? why not post it all for no donation at all and post a link for 5.00 a month tech support? i'm certain this thread will be locked in no time and look forward to the humiliation headed your way.
I do not accept your apology. You are a fraud. You stole peoples work to make money

it doesn't matter your logic for any of that.
1) you cannot advertise anything that has a registration/paywall on xda, it's against the forum rules (it's the same reason we don't see posts by samfirmware stuff anymore, even though we all know about it)
2) you cannot include links to services/devices you sell (it's fine to tell people of a download mode JIG and even to check ebay or other places, but to point directly to yours is also against the rules)
3) if you don't have the money to run the site, don't run it (why host anything at all beyond a few lightweight html files with explanations)
4) make the donation optional. register for the site for free and then people can donate if they want (hey, sounds an awful lot like what xda is)
5) do you have the permission of the ROM developers to repost their work elsewhere? (especially behind a lazy paywall)
if you can't follow xda's rules, then what do you expect to happen?
What you do is wrong!
1. You host warez on your site.
2. You steal all of out Dev's roms
3. Just link you "subscribers" to xda
Why not use something like forumotion.com to so you don't have to pay?
And the no credits?
This... this is going to get nasty unfortunately.
Be respectable people.
Suck my balls.
@aka , not s15 >.>
see this is xda all you all do is talk bad im sorry but there are no paid apps in site and app brain or 4share.com lol theres all your apps for free ... i tell you all and you dont here me
And the lying about creating a Gingerbread ROM with GPS?
I think the point that most are upset with is that you have done this in a sneaky manner and not asked any dev if it was okay to post their work. For us to put sometimes months into building a better rom and then you to take it change a couple icons or colors and then post it as your own work when you probably wouldn't know a XML from a bml and charge people for "support" which they get here for free. I personally have tried to answer every "noob" that has approached me and not once charged.

Damn. That's silly.
You are in breach of Apache Software License Version 2 & GNU General Public License Version 2.
You are in breach of your AdSense account by hosting copyrighted material, you have been reported - LINK
You have been reported to Gameloft for hosting their pirated/warez apps, they have notified their legal dept.
You have been reported to your web host - LINK - for hosting & distributing pirated/warez apps.
You have been reported to Paypal for profiteering off pirated/warez apps.

What does this do exactly???
If this allows you to install games/apps for free without purchasing . ITS NOT ALLOWED ON XDA.. You will get alot of Bashing for even asking for such a thing..
from the brief description on a site i read.. This app is not allowed or welcome in XDA..

A Highly illegal tool. It's an app that steals from places like ITunes, iApp store.
Dude, if you can't sport a couple of bucks for an app, then you don't need a tab. And you don't need to ask such questions here.
If you don't want to support the developers and pay for apps you can get some paid apps for free from getjar. That is about all I can say in this matter. I don't suggest obtaining apps illegally.
Like, I'm guessing, a lot of people, I tend to go a little 'app crazy' now and again and install apps based on reviews (here and on other forums) without fully educating myself on what they do. This even extends to paid-for apps (I'm looking at you my multitude of launchers) and to that end I have a lot of apps that I'm pretty sure do the same thing other apps on my phone already do. (quick example Springpad, Evernote & Google Keep)
My question is this, is there an easy way to compare my apps to see what duplicates what and which app actually does the deed better? I realize, yes of course just read up on all of them and then choose, which is likely what I'll end up doing but if there's a shortcut method then I'd love to know it.
Also, I wish we could 'sell' apps we purchased but no longer need due to newer versions of Android having these features built in.
All information and suggestions (even the smarta$$ ones lol) are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Selling apps would not work out that well. And I dont know of any shortcut. Maybe make a thread on the themes/apps or questions sec asking users about their favorite app that does X

When you pay for an app you DON'T actually own it like you would own a car.
You purchase a license to USE the software.
Reselling the app is a violation of copyright law.
It's different if you have physical media.
You are allowed to sell the media as long as you delete the software from your system.

Yeah I actually understand the laws associated with digital content, especially after the Bruce Willis/Apple fight over his iTunes catalog.
But it would be nice to give access to these paid apps to someone else since I'm no longer using them, I hate paying for something and then no longer needing it/being unable to get rid of it or give to someone who can use it.
