What is the best navigation app?

what's the best? And why? I tried google's and it works but its too simple, I tryed ndrive too.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
you say too simple like it's a bad thing
google navigation ftw (IMO)
try CoPilot Live.......
but seriously for FREE bucks you can't beat Google Nav.....
Thanks Google
Lol thanks coper, I was reading the comments for copilot but didn't like them, btw I live on or in usa

The only thing Google Nav is missing is the ability to do waypoints so you can add stops, or just customize your route. Other than that, it's the bee's knees.

You can KINDA do waypoints with a "My Map". Thats what I do on my trips.
The only feature that I really miss from GMaps/Nav is side loading pre-created map tiles/Cached maps. I wanna be able to use GMaps outside the US without incurring data fees.
You guys using google- what do you do when you don't have service? I tried this for the first time, got to my destination fine but the couldn't route to anywhere else.
Edit: lucky it was a trial run and I knew where I was and how to get home.

Sorry but I don't go anywhere where there isn't at least some coverage there a few spots but it will only last a mile or two before I get a signal back
If you are driving through many areas without cell coverage you will need a regular GPS

Not necessarily. There are standalone apps like CoPilot that store the maps on the phone. You don't need a cell signal for those.

I've been tempted several times to purchase CoPilot because the software seems excellent, but I've heard bad things about their maps being outdated. Since the map data is a pretty big chunk of what you're paying for I've been hesitant to pull the trigger. Google Navigation is fine for now...until I need to go somewhere without cell reception, that is.
With the current state of the Vibrant GPS, they all SUK.
google maps is #1 by a mile. and now with google walk as of today's update

Only problem is that Google Nav doesn't work without a cell signal, so in my eyes it's not a complete solution. It does work well, though.
Yeah I think it works awesome, when I have service. Problem is when I'm on road trips I often find myself without service and that's when I need service. Doesn't come up all the time but when it does it would be nice to have gps.
Thanks dex, ill check that out, man I love this haha I been playing with it all day first was a road test which worked great, I cant bealive how occurted it is, at home I look for my location, its like 3 houses away, not blocks (new york) I vome from the original iphone, had for years so I'm impressed, thanks for the comments

Amazon free app of the day list

Lets post all the free amazon apps of the day starting with back breaker football. Does anyone have the apk for this
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Amazon requires you have their market downloaded and running in the background for Amazon apps to work. We can't post the APKs, as they wont work.
Today's app is PicSay Pro. I have to say I've been very surprised by the quality apps Amazon has been giving away on app of the day. If the idea is to get users to look at their market every day, it's definitely working on me.

1. Since it's no longer free, it's now warez, and that's bad in XDA.
2. It's really a crappy game, you just run up the field and dodge increasing amounts of defenders to score touchdowns. While this seems fun, the controls are far from it. You steer your player like a car using the accelerometers, and not with a dpad. You run by rubbing up and down on a line on the side of the screen. Doing both of these at the same time _does not work_.
I grabbed it, tried it, and deleted it. If there was a way to gift games, I would give it to you.

yeah, AND you have to enable one click purchasing on Amazon too. it's a way for them to get accidental sales.
Not to bad
The free apps haven't been to bad so far that I've seen.
Starting with Angry Birds Rio.
I've gotten Fruit Ninja, Flight Control and Talking Tom, and as someone mentions today's Picsay Pro which is fun.
Airport mania was free Yesterday also, that was a good pickup. I agree, we can't post them that'd be out of line. But you have to pay attention from now on.

I for one like the 1 click purchasing. The last thing i want to do on my phone is go through a whole checkout process for a 99 cent app.
They do the same for Kindle books... this is nothing new.
I like the Amazon app store. I like to take advantage of the free apps that they have each day. anyone know how much longer that will go on?

I don't think they really care about the occasional accidental $0.99 sale. They're doing it to get you used to and comfortable with the idea of going to Amazon to get apps, and they want to make sure that if/when you do reach that point and start to actually buy apps from them, that it is trivially easy for you. You're more likely to do all the work of entering and setting everything up when you're getting something for free. If you had to set everything up and go through all the checkout nonsense for a single $0.99 app, you'd probably just say screw it and buy through the regular google android market.
I think it's a decent idea. They give away free music using the same theory, but I think the free apps they've been giving away are much, much better than the free songs you can get from them.

+1. I just got this today and it really handles my calendars better than anything else I've tried.
And I have to admit that the Amazon appstore is really growing on me. If I have multiple devices, will they all have access to the apps I've gotten through the appstore?

Amazon wants this appstore to be like the kindle. they want this appstore on as many devices as possible. it would make much sense if your apps were tied to only device.
I think their app store is great. I didn't understand the peple that post in other thread they would not use the amazon app store because they didn't want to fragment the android app market? The way I look at they give me a free app and if I. Buy a paid app I buy it from them as thanks for for the free apps to support them. I just think that's fair.

[AMAZON] Free app of the day!

I saw on other forums they have a thread for this so people can talk and figure out what's good and what's not and because I know people don't check the app every day... So here is an Unofficial spot for y'all to discuss, bash, argue, and talk about the amazon free app of the day. So I'm just gonna compile some info and basically copy some stuff from other threads.
Now, as most of you know Amazon offers a paid app for free every day. Sometimes they are very good, for example I snagged SwiftKey X from them.. But other days its kinda retarded. Down below is a link for the amazon site where you can get the app store.
http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011
Here is a direct download link to the latest app store if you prefer to do it this way..
http://db.tt/qVgQHJ0
Also, you must have this app store installed at all times in order to use any app from Amazon.
Also, it will ask you to register a credit card through amazon to make a "purchase". that is fine. Even with the free app, its technically bought. You will get a receipt for $0.00. Many people use this and its not a scam, so if your new to it.. Do not worry. The benefit of this means that once you "buy" it the app is yours! You don't need to even have it installed, even after its not free anymore! So you don't have to worry about getting a ridiculous amount of apps that you MIGHT use. So feel free to download all of them
Down below is a nifty app that will push a notification to you about what the free app of the day is! Kinda handy if your a bargain hunter...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090838
Also, i take no credit for the aforementioned thread or app! So yeah. I'll work on getting some screens up.. Enjoy!

I would really like to see some kind of proof of your claims. Even if that happened I could put up my own server and mirror whatever I want
The deal about ISP watching your torrent traffic went throught. Not SOPA. They've already been going this too. Its just now they will actively watch you and have the right to throttle (you whole connection) and/or cut you. Also, they are aloud kickbacks from organizations like mpaa. Source? Any torrent site right now. Basicly no more torrents in the USA.
Sent from my SPH-P100
Use a program like peerblock to keep your traffic private, as well as using magnet links rather than rather than a torrent hash. Don't download from public sites. Use private sites with private trackers like demonoid.
Torrents are used for legal reasons too. There no is reason you can't distribute creative commons liscenced music and art via torrent. Nine inch nails does. I use torrents to share schematic files with business associates. I even used a torrent to download the latest klite codec pack. I also know a magazine thaat delivers its quarterly via torrent. All legal uses for torrents.

Comcast is the worst. They have been fighting people for a while. I had Comcast in Colorado. They have their awesome Sandvine **** that kills you torrent connections. This all starts July 12. Example, Comcast will no longer be fighting and will be back by our govt. They have to give you 3 warnings. The then they can throttle your whole service or cut you off, still holding you liable for the services.
SANDVINE INFO
INFO I FOUND ON ISP MONITORING.
Best solution is to get a seed box.
SOPA, HR 3261 Status
PIPA, S. 968 Status
Neither have passed (yet) according to this.
Here's another one to watch,
