Hi,
Usually I use my device with two BT headsets, first is Jabra BT3030 for A2DP music listening and second is my car stereo with BT only as headset for phone calls. Normally when device is in standby, any of the two BT headsets turning on makes the device wake up and connect to device.
Recently after a backup / hard reset / restore action, when the device is in standby, turning on any of the headsets wakes the device, headset connected icon appears, but no connection is actually made.
I have to turn off then on either the headset or the BT on device. That means when device is not in standby connection is made as is supposed to.
When connection is made, device going in standby does not affect the connection.
I have tried re-pairing the device with both headsets, but there's no change.
Should I try another or more backup / hard reset / restore action till, hopefully, it's back to normal or there is another solution?

hi ppl
i use an austrian mda2 w/ ROM 1.6.00GER and ExtROM 1.60.07 together with a parrot ck3000 handsfree in my car.
i use the original bt stack w/o ANY changes.
making calls and taking calls is no problem at all and works most of the times.
the problem is as follows: when i enter the car, bt turned on, and also profile says "BT Headset ist eingeschaltet (means bt headset is turned ON)", and the n i want to place a call, the call is not routed over the handsfree. explanation is simple: when i change back to "today" - bt is turned OFF !!!
so my conclusion: everytime bt is used for the first time after disconnetion from the handsfree, it just turns OFF when it should connect. after i turn bt on by hand again it works w/o any problem. ('till i come back to the car of course - and everything starts again)
this is very annoying....
so has anyone any hint what to do? i wouldn't really mind updating to an english rom - if i just knew that that does work.
thanks,

when i use this one

my device turn bluetooth on when i call even though i dont have a bluetooth headset maybe it'll help you
thanks rudegar
i know that stack by TOWA. unfortunately that does not work at all here
i'd love to use it, but w/ this stack my handsfree is reconized sometimes, sometimes i have to pair the devices every time i start my car, and i can NEVER place calls with the combination mda2 with networx bt manager installed.
maybe someone has the same experiences and can report them

Has anybody out there tried using the scripts in this software to turn on Bluetooth when a call is received and off again when the call is finished.
I don't have a Bluetooth headset at the moment so I have no idea if the Bluetooth connection is established fast enougth, but if did, then it would be a good way of preserving battery power.
Hi Paul,
I see what you are saying however when using a BT headset the headset initiates the connection to the phone when it is switched on which means when you switch back on BT on the phone it won't initiate a connection to the headset. In this case you would need to either power on (assuming it's off) the headset or press one of the headset keys which might be enough to make the connection.
However the BT power consumption on modern phones is minimal and you probably only gain about 30 mins max extra standby time by switching BT off.

Hi,
When I bought the phone in November it had serious problems with bluetooth, it was turning on off and disconnected the headset during or especially after phone calls.
That is absolutley not ok and I am using SE's top of their line headset: DS-980
These massive problems with BT exist also after firmware upgrade to R2A - The phone handling seems smoother than before, there are little improvements like a battery symbol on the top bar, another BT symbol, but it seems that some bluetooth problems still exist.
Just minutes ago, the phone disconnected from GSM/GPRS/UMTS line and connected again while I was using headset and was listening to music through WM player - then the phone suddenly restarted !!
I think that this is not the problem with the compatibility of this headset only, I did not try others but I think it will make same troubles with them too.
BT BUG in detail:
* Connect / Disconnect Phone when using headset intensive
* Headset (DS-980) especially disconnects after phone calls
* BT icon dissapears sometimes -> then it has to be switched off and on again to work "properly"...
SO MY QUESTION: CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THESE BUGS/PROBLEMS ?? Is it the headset or a bug in phone (hardware or firmware ?? )
Thanks,
Freako
I have almost the same problem with my Volvo XC70's built-in hands-free - phone randomly disconnects from car in standby mode as well as during phone calls. I found some solution but haven't tried it yet - there is a program which stays in memory and checking BT status - if it's OFF the program restarts it.
i´ve the BT Headset Ds980 too but not such problems...
but beforce the update i had problems with calls...i couldn´t answer them with the headset...if i accepted them with the headset, i had to use the phone... the device did not stream the voice to the headset but now every thing runs "perfect"^^
Hi, I am trying to pair my old Nokia Bluetooth headset (BH-102) with my Topaz wihtout any luck. I have seen posts (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-345805.html, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457368) that have paired Nokia with HTC. Any ideas? The headset is not even found when I search for Bluetooth devices.
have you made sure your phone is on discoverable mode?
I've paired 2 different nokia bluetooth headphones to my Topaz without problem (as well as 2 Sony Ericsson ones)
"Make this device visible to other devices" is the option you must have checked (at least the first time)
Incase you don't have the manual:
"Clear settings or reset
To delete the pairings from the
headset, switch off the headset, and
press and hold the multifunction key
for over 8 seconds until the headset
beeps twice and the indicator light
flashes quickly."
then, once you're done that, switch your bluetooth on on your phone, make sure it's discoverable, then turn on your headset.
Thanks!! Worked like Magic! So dumb of me
I don't know if this is possible or if this is a really simple question however is there a way to disconnect a hands free device in 1-2 clicks.
what happens is this, I have a BlueAnt Speakerphone in the car I get out of the car (and forget to turn of BlueAnt) walk 15m and make a call - phone is still connected to Hands-Free, so how can I quickly disconnect the hands-free and make a call through the normal phones internal speaker.
I suppose I can assigna button to be comms manager and disable bluetooth however I want bluetooth to remain on if possible (just d/c hands-free temporarily)
Windows Mobile 6.1 on HTC Touch HD
You can try this, it merely toggles bluetooth.
However, I have had the same problem as you, so decided to make my TD2 KNOW when it is in my car and KNOW when it is not. I use GProfile for this. It knows when it is in my car because it is connected to my car cradle (it is charging) which is also an FM transmitter (it thinks it is connected to a headset). This then automatically turns bluetooth on when cradled. When I un-cradle it, it turns bluetooth off thus disconnecting from my handsfree headset.
GProfile is one program which does this but you could use Mortscript instead.
