Pairing Nokia Bluetooth headset with TD2? - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

Hi, I am trying to pair my old Nokia Bluetooth headset (BH-102) with my Topaz wihtout any luck. I have seen posts (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-345805.html, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457368) that have paired Nokia with HTC. Any ideas? The headset is not even found when I search for Bluetooth devices.

have you made sure your phone is on discoverable mode?
I've paired 2 different nokia bluetooth headphones to my Topaz without problem (as well as 2 Sony Ericsson ones)
"Make this device visible to other devices" is the option you must have checked (at least the first time)
Incase you don't have the manual:
"Clear settings or reset
To delete the pairings from the
headset, switch off the headset, and
press and hold the multifunction key
for over 8 seconds until the headset
beeps twice and the indicator light
flashes quickly."
then, once you're done that, switch your bluetooth on on your phone, make sure it's discoverable, then turn on your headset.

Thanks!! Worked like Magic! So dumb of me

Bluetooth headphones auto-pair?

Hi folks
I've got my self a pair of HP Bluetooth headphones (very nice btw!) but every time I want to use them, I have to turn on bluetooth, go into bluetooth devices, press and hold the bluetooth headphones and select "set as wireless stereo".
My question is, is there anyway of getting my phone to automatically pair with my bluetooth headphones? Rather than having to go into the bluetooth settings everytime?
Or even put a shortcut on the today page would be easier enough?
Thanks
I was having the same question, but people sais that it is not a good idea to keep your device recoverable from other devices all the time from security point of view. So, i refused from this idea

I found out that if you create a shortcut (.lnk) with notepad and put this in it:
23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23,1
You can get right to the bluetooth devices screen. I haven't seen how to pair something automatically though. hopefully one of the bluetooth guru's here can figure that out.
Thanks Jizzay1
Start -> link -> Tap+hold -> connected
Alot better than comms manager -> bluetooth settings -> devices -> tap+hold -> connected
Maybe someone will find a way to press a link and connect straight away, but this way I can live with in the mean time
Obviously different to bluetooth headsets. I use a Nokia HDW-3 and it connects everytime, my bluetooth is not set to discoverable either
I'm not sure why you guys have to re-pair your headsets. I never have. If bluetooth and the headset are on then I can make calls through it.

I'm having this problem with my STEREO BT headset, and it sounds like mixmasterollie is too, but it seems like the people that don't have this problem are using normal mono headsets. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
I'll have a mono headset to test tomorrow to see if my 8125 will pair with it automatically.
As iunderstood for the phone calls my STEREO headset is pairing automatically, but not for music

I just tried my friend's over the ear plantronics 510 mono headset and it pairs automatically once i turned on bluetooth on my phone and on the headset. My 8125 doesn't say anything on the screen once it's been paired, but it works.
Sounds like i just have to live with manually pairing my IOGEAR stereo headset.
Try playing with the "action" button on the headset. On mine, the volume up button has a dot on it. I turn on the BT, turn on the headset, wait a couple seconds and hit the volume up button twice. It automatically goes into wireless stereo when I do that. Boy, was I happy when I discovered that!
No such luck I'm afraid, my HP BT Headphones don't auto-pair, no matter what buttons I press on the headset
I think wireless stereo and hands free act differently, whereas the hands free ones connect automatically but the headphones only option doesn't.
Shame really!

Problem with bluetooth handsfree

Hi,
I have a Vodafone P3600 which I had unlocked and flashed to test both HTC WM5 and Faman WM6 3.3 and 3.4. I have a problem using it with my Parrot CK3100, and it's the following: devices pair perfectly, but when I leave my car and then return, most of times P3600 does not connect with handsfree. Sometimes, it does connect, but after a long time. This occurs with any OS version I have tested.
A problem with CK3100 is discarded because I have flashed it with latest software version, and it was tested with a HP RW6815.
I tried disabling power saving, setting bluetooth as discoverable, installing Jetware, but nothing made it work as it should.
I'm near to sell my P3600 and buy a new HTC Touch only to solve this problem, because I need much a handsfree working in my car.
Can any of you give a hint of what the problem could be?
Thanks.
I forgot to say that if I power on my HTC, it always connect to the Parrot. But when it's in standby sometimes connects and others no.
I have an SonyEricsson HBH-DS200 and this works unfortunately with the P3600 also in a from you described way. I tryed AWE and PDAVIET and also AX3L ROMs.
Other points and problems with BT HandsFree are:
1.) A litle icon to show that the BT HansFree is connected will be showed in the status only after the first paaring. After that, nothing shows you, that the BT HansFree is connected (and therefor can be used) or not.
2.) After a phone call the BT HandsFree will be disconnected. That meanns, that I can not hear the phone ring in the earpice. I only hear it from the P3600. I have 2 choises after that:
a.) If I push te Answer button on the P3600, the voice is on the P3600.
b.) If I push the Answer button on the BT HansFree then the voice is on the BT HansFree (but it will be disconnected after the call).
3.) The volume can not be changed if I use the BT HandsFree. That means, the volume slide bar can be moved/changed, but this has no effect to the volume in the BT HansFree.
In my opinion if the paaring is done and the BT HandsFree is switched on it should be always:
- connected
- an icon in the status line appear
- the voice in the BT HandsFree - independent if the answer button is pushed on the phone or on the BT HandsFree
For me is the BT HandsFree very imortant, and I am a litle bit disappointed, that a device for 500 Eur works that buggy with a technology that is almost 10 year old.

Bluetooth Headset

Hi,
I have recently been trying to connect my bluetooth headset to my HTC Touch Dual with no success. The phone will not recognise that the device exists when I search for it. I have tried two headsets one from Jabra and the other from Sony Ericsson, my Dual will recognise neither (even though my Sony K810i recognises both). Strangely my original Touch wouldn't recognise either of these devices either.
Can anyone suggest what is wrong? Thanks.
Have you set the bluetooth headsets to pairing mode? Usually by pressing the power button 5-10s and the light changes to flashing lights. After youve done that your nike should detect it.
I have a plantronics 640 and a jabra BT stereo 620, both pair without problems.

Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, not finding

I have some bluetooth headphones, that used to work a treat on my old Touch HD and Iphone, but when I turn on bluetooth on the galaxy s and search for devices, it simply doesn't find them...
Am I doing something wrong, sorry if this has been asked before, new to all this android stuff
Are you putting the headset into pairing mode before scanning for it?
Nope the headset simply has an on off button, it has a 0000 code and that's it ?
Usually a bluetooth headset has to be activated in pairing mode to be detectable for the first time. For example, holding the power button for several seconds etc. You may want to confirm with the instruction manual.
if you paired it the first time, it will automatically detect both features.
just for the record, my good old Motorola HT820 works fine with my SGS, loud and clear
I'm using the Sony Ericsson HBH DS-980 with my Galaxy S with no issues.

i have an slighly older model of this one
i stopped using it due the wires, it gets annoying, it reminds me too much of using regular wired headsets
sound is good only when you stuck the entire plug into your ears, but it hurts after a while
I had the HBH 970, it sucked when it comes to sound quality.
here is my brief review

of all the BT stereo headsets i've ever used
Sorry people, thanks for your help and your right, I wasn't holding the button long enough to initially pair the device, DOH!!!
Works a treat now, I thought it couldn't be the device had to me, and it was...
Not quite the same problem as OP, but related to bluetooth headset:
Having problems with a Plantronics Backbeat 903 bluetooth headset connection to my Galaxy S.
(Long story, so stick with me here...)
When I intiate a pairing and connect, everything's fine, but if I shutdown/disconnect the headset and then turn on/connect the headset again later, it seems to have lost the 'media' connection ( but 'phone' connection still appears active).
So, I look in Settings/Wireless And Network/Bluetooth Settings/Backbeat9XX, then long press to bring up 'Options' I see a greyed out 'Media' option. I press this to 'activate' it, and all seems hunky dory, but the headset still doesn't work for 'media'. I go back in thru all the steps & find the 'Media' option greyed out again.
Rinse and repeat; same result. Again & again.
Bottom line: can't seem to get 'Media' active & stay that way.
This headset worked fine with my Motorola Milestone, BTW.
Maybe the A2DP 'stack' is screwy on my phone? How would I check this/change this?
Any ideas?
I have sony DR-BT50 which the quality is very good and so comfortable using it with my laptop or nokia n97 , but I can not discover it by my samsung galaxy s,

[Q] It's impossible to work properly for A500 with a mircophone earphone?

I bought a plantronics 903+. (bluetooth earphone, with microphone). However A500 cannot search it. I'm sure the 903+ works properly, because it works prefectly with my SonyEricsson X10.
I "googled" for more infoamtion... There are no useful so far. I think it's not the hardware problem, and it can be resolved by some software or a little MOD, am I right?
Would anyone help? Thanks very much in advance.!
Most Bluetooth headsets require a different power up procedure to connect it to another device. When you bought it, did you first connect it to the Sony phone? If so, you might wanna take a look at the headset's manual to find out how to properly put the headset into a discoverable mode. Most of the time it just requires powering the headset on by holding the power button for like 5-10 seconds rather than just pressing it once briefly.
ALSO, the Acer manual states "Only A2DP stereo headsets (without microphone) are supported."
With that said, you should still be able to search and find the headset, maybe even pair with it, but the tablet and the headset must support the same bluetooth profiles (Bluetooth 2.1+EDR & A2DP support)

Thanks! The earphone works properly with my Sony Ericsson phone. I think, "(without microphone)" is the problem...
"must support the same bluetooth profiles"...is it possible to add the profile in A500?
I'd check the headsets manual. Some headsets will only synk to one product.
Thanks for your response!
I am a fool... I double checked the manual. According to it, the earphone works perfectly.
Still, I am not sure why the X10 works well with it...
Whatever the problem is ok.
