Hi all.
In this desperate and sad days, due to the 2.1 delay for our X10, if calls for some eye candy. If you want to see how a good interface should look like:
http://pocketnow.com/android/htc-desire-hd-rom-walkthrough-video
That would be nice to port to the X10
Keep faith all X10 collegues our there. Some day we will see a good interface in our smartphone.
Hell, I'd be just as happy with a Vanilla ROM, and let me customize the way I want...

looks pretty neat, id like to see what the devs can do with android
that is hideous lol
sorry
but for someone who needs to send a professional look i dont wanna pull out a phone and have everyone see this
it definately doesnt look good for everyday fast use
This would be interesting as an overlay, similar to dxtop or aHome. It looks like they are running the demo on the iPhone. Many apps from that are ported to Android without a whole mess of trouble due to the similarity in code. It would be interesting to run on my iPhone, but I don't know if I would be a fan of the power consumption on Android due to the animation level.
TAT Mobile UI made the android GUI look it up
Lol. It would be nice to see some implementations of different kind of home interfaces in android. Just to have the possibility to change between them when we want and to make evident android potentialities
that is so old I've already seen that video like last year seriously. and that interface sucks it's boring..
Bear in mind we don't know for sure whether this is a forthcoming iteration of the Sense UI or just an industrious hacker, but the video after the break shows off some pretty sweet multittouch integration into HTC's Android skin. Pinch-to-zoom, that most notorious of functions, is used to achieve an Exposé-like overview of all the widgets you have open, with an easy tap getting you into the one you want. It seems a relatively intuitive action, even if the person showing it off does his or her best to make it look as clumsy as possible. This should be most enticing when considered in light of the purportedly upcoming HTC Hero update to Android 2.1 -- who's to say this isn't what HTC is cooking up as an extra topping for that Eclair?

looks really cool. As someone who uses the widgets to full effect I would love to be able to see then all at once like that.
I hope we get this in the 2.1 update. That looks sa-WEET!
It looks super sweet, but I don't know how really useful it is. Still...eye candy is nice.

With all these fake videos nice to see one from a trusted source
Dell are idiots...no 2.2..

better than F**K all ......................................but not that much
seems a bit sad when i can run 2.2 on my HERO!
To tell you the truth i don't mind getting 2.1 it will give me something new to play with whilst we are waiting for 2.2

Same here, plus Im using ADW launcher now with the droid X theme (looks great) which kind of negates a lot of the Dell stuff already and gives me loads of layout and UI options and portrait everywhere. So the things I really need now to make it a great experience is a better dialer. Keyboard fix - though I will prob install HTC multitouch, and most importantly proper multitouch which I assume this 2.1 build has.. which will finally allow for a decent gaming experince with emulators etc. I was actually quite happy with the camera interface, but the HD video is a big plus.
Sadly Dell screwed up with the software from the beginning and now they are rapidly losing potential customers with all this waiting around. The custom taskbar has its plusses but they would have won big if instead of wasting time customising the UI they launched this awesome device with a stock froyo build from release and then added custom touches, anyway lets hope 2.2 is on the way as the performance improvement would be great.
The point is we are supposed to get flash which needs 2.2 whens that gonna come next year?
please masters, please developers, do something
get the interface of X10 i.e. contacts, dialer, page shifting etc. on HD2.
this android based interface looks amazing .. i want my HD2 look same. can you'll do something about it?

maybe i would post this into android development thread ...
It looks quite nice but is not smooth, it stucks and when you´ve been using it for a few days you stop using it because it´s just esthetics.
it would need some heavy modification is it is designed for 854x480 however our devices are 800x480
buy a x10
I had an X10 for tho weeks! It was the MOST RETARDED phone I've ever used! Its UI is slow as a turtle, its camera is of low quality, and mostly the sound is too low! even the dialer is slow! I'm so happy that I've sold this piece of junk! the Samsung Galaxy-S is another dimension! with Froyo it flies!

well that should answer that ..on to the next one ..lol
x10 is built with 1.6 ... that's why it'll be extremely hard (if not impossible) to get it's interface on froyo.
I am ready to root my Epic. Not sure where to begin though. Any suggestions? I have been using the Evo and I really love it. My best phone hands down prior to getting the Epic. I don't know if it is because it is newer, but I want to make the Epic my primary device.I like the Sense UI though(love those scrollable widgets). If I root the Epic will I be able to customize it and give it a more of a Sense feel that I am used to? Also, I know it is personal preference regarding which phone you use, especially with Android, but is there anything other than Sense (and Froyo for now) that I will lose going with the Epic over the Evo?
Thanks guys
I am new to this site, but I hear all the time about the cool stuff you guys do. So, I came here to get my hands dirty and really get into this thing called Android.
Well, I may not know much since I am new to Android, but I did get some hands on with The Epic and I didn't really like it. ( I own a Evo ) What I didn't like from the Epic was the UI. For me HTC Sense is way better. Aside from that, the Epic does not support FLASH at the moment. One of the other things you will miss out is the 8MP camera on the Evo. I don't know about you but I take a lot of pictures and that matters to me. Other than that I can't really think of anything else.
Well i came from the hero which has sense, and my dad has the evo, so i am really familiar with sense ui. Sense ui is very visually appealing and i liked it very much. You can get a lot of the look and feel of sense by using beautiful widgets, which has the htc flip clock and weather animations. If u want sense ui lock screen get widget locker. Some great things about touchwiz are that u can toggle 4g wifi bluetooth from the notification pull down. Launcher pro plus has some sense style scrollable widgets as well. if u wanna see what my epic looks like with these apps u can see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771597&page=3 and scroll to my post. Try out the epic and hopefully u will like it, roms are coming soon too.
Hey,
Thanks for replying. I hear what you are saying. And it is really a tough decision. I would keep both and then switch it up every now and then. I just paid for the Epic, it only cost me 200 at Best buy, but I also just bought the 360 Halo Reach Edition, so I have to get some of that back somewhere.I will miss Sense and Froyo, but hopefully, one day soon the Epic will get Froyo. As far as the pictures go, I am finding that I am becoming preferable to the Epic's camera over the Evo, especially for video recording.
yes I love those toggles in the notification bar. Personally, I don't mind Touchwiz all that much. Yea, iot is coloirful and everything, but they have some real good things regarding user interface going on there. If I can get some of those scollable widgets, like sense's news widget, the weather/clock widget with animation, I would be good. What about root? Are there some good ROM's out there for the Epic, that will make it worth the risk?
Thanks guys
That' s sweet. Is that the Epic?
