Post some pics from your phone with the text messages... I can't really say what they are, unless someone is sending you anonymous text messages?
I had this for a while (also on Orange, stock ROM) and did manage to get rid of it - problem is I can't remember exactly what I did as fiddling around so much!
I think it had something to do with a missed call or voicemail message. Try deleting an entry (or entries) from the call history with a similar time stamp to the sms message.

A further thought - using the built in message app (not handcent etc) press menu - settings - Manage SIM card messages and delete from there.
One of these methods sorted it out for me but this was weeks ago...
Hi folks.
I get these Anonymous texts whenever I have a voicemail (on Orange UK, generic HTC ROM). I think that when you get a voicemail, the signal from Orange to say that you've got voicemail comes as this anonymous text and lands on your SIM (and triggers the voicemail icon on your notification bar).
I'd delete this text only to find it reappear every time I restart my device. The only way to get rid of it permanently is (as AjUK said), go to Messages>>Settings>>Manage SIM Messages and delete it from there.
I guess turning off Voicemail notifications would sort it, but I'd rather have them and live with the hassle.

It's literally just a text with an 'Anonymous' number but it doesn't have any text. Usually get them after flashing a new rom.
guys do we have any kind of softwear that we can use to chat with the blackberry ( bbm) and what's app for iphone
Text Messaging
LOL!!! You want to use BBM without a BB!? LOL
If you want BBM get a Blackberry and no one here is going to help you with the iphone.
I'm more interested as to why this might be urgent...!
if this is so urgent, there's a 7 or 10 digit number you can dial to gasp... speak with the person in real time, or use the same 7 or 10 digit number to txt them lol
I want to know what this guy is doing in a HD2 tmobile forum asking about black berry software for an iphone he must be a real Genius, and better yet why he thinks this is urgent for us. i think this should be deleted
she doesn't like you anyway so just stop now.
don't say i didnt warn u
I have heard you can actually message someone anywhere in the world that is using a blackberry via the blackberry messenger since it is over the blackberry web service or something. Kind of a neat feature. But since every blackberry has their own email address, and since HD2s are capable of sending email then I am pretty sure that sending an email would be the best way to go on this one, champ.
Closing thread as it appears to have nothing to do with the HD 2.
Hi. I havea prob with my DHD. Couldn't find anything in the forums. I wonder if someone might be able to help?
Sometimes, when someone sends me an SMS message (or if I have a new voicemail), I don't get a notification for ages. Sometimes hours, sometimes over a day even. The other day a friend rang me after I hadn't replied to his text, and once he was off the phone I went into my messages app and the message suddenly popped in. This makes me wonder if maybe it's something to do with the messaging app not polling in the background or something?
I'm on O2, with a non network branded handset, stock rom up to date with 2.2.1. Settings>About lists me as running "software version" 1.72.405.3.
Any ideas?
Thanks loads for any help!
It's possible that maybe you're in an area with bad reception? Generally when you get slow sms notifications it's usually due to the provider.
You could try changing to a different radio and see if that helps? Or even try flashing a custom rom.
You could also be getting the SMS notification bug since the last update. There are a number of long threads about it in here. Waiting on an update from HTC to fix it.

Its o2s fault, i used to have a W910 on o2 and had the same problem, try another sim/network

Probably the sms notification bug which is well known in 1.72 software version. Try using a third party app like "sms popup" to handle the notifications.

Slow SMS Notifications
Thanks for all the replies!
Definitely not a service issue as I wondered this myself to begin with but it happens both at home and at the office in central London.
Will try a third party SMS notification app. Reassuring to know I'm not alone.
Might look into flashing CM7 or something, as this is a fairly major prob for me to be missing people's messages.
Also not convinced by O2's 3G coverage. Contract's up in December when I shall be looking elsewhere.
Thanks loads.
Rolo.
Another recommendation for SMS Popup here. Very handy app.
Now that its finally getting warmer in the UK and I won't always have a jacket to put my TAB in I have dug out my old HTC Touch HD phone.
I have my main SIM in the phone and have a data only SIM for the TAB. I love using the TAB for SMS / Email and wondered if anyone has a good way of combining phone / TAB usage, using the TAB for SMS where possible without SIM swapping. The WebSMS solutions don't appear to work within the UK.
Cheers
This is by no means a perfect solution, but you could look at apps like WhatsApp or Kik, which are basically a cross between SMS and IM, but use your data plan to send messages. It obviously means that you can only message people that also have the same app installed, but both those apps run on Android and iOS, so that covers a lot of ground.
I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread myself, out of curiosity, to see if there's a web-based alternative.
Cheers. Was wondering about going down the IM route. Now that more people are getting tariffs with data it may be an option.

hi there i dont know if im in the right section but i need your help. my gf is in uk now and she had put her o2 number to her htc wildfire. the problem is everytime i sent her an sms she has to compose an new sms instead of replying me because everytime she reply's me it says " message not sent" and the problem is id does this only if i sent her an sms. if i sent from an other phone it works fine. i told her to put her SIM card to an other phone an put an other number to the htc and i sent an sms to both numbers just to see if its the SIM fault or the phone and both numbers worked fine :S
the problem is only when she puts o2 number back to the htc. i search all over the web and i even try the tutorial about the Handcent SMS and still no luck. is there something else i must do?
Same thing happens when my girlfriends mother texts her, they are both on o2 but the opposite way round, my girl has a wildfire and her mother a really old Samsung. Her mum cannot reply to messages from my girlfriends wildfire but can send them back if she starts a new message, I thought it was just a one off bug in her mums phone till I read this. Maybe its a bug in o2's system.
Dunno how to fix it though sorry.
