[Q] G1 broken display problem - bad colours - G1 General

Hello
I purchased G1 with broken display on eBay from other user, hoping I could fix it.
G1 works good, its rooted and running cyanogen rom. Digitizer works, display is readable but colors are upside down. For example in settings screen text is yellow, background is blue arrows are somewhat gold. App menu background is black text, blue, attached pictures should tell more, one is home screen and other one is flashlight app with half intensity.
I dissembled the phone, searching for any signs of damage or anything, everything seemed ok. I am not sure if I should buy new LCD screen or Flex Cable. Did anyone encountered similar problem?

[Q] Brightness/Color reduction issues (NOT hardware problem)

The problem: Most screens on my Droid 2 are consistently darkened, as if dimmed to the lowest setting. The colors are even inverted in a few places. I would be inclined to call this a hardware problem, except that many of the stock android screens (app drawer, contacts, settings, etc) display perfectly. As you can see in the (poor quality, sorry) photos, the app drawer looks normal, but the second you switch back to the Home screen, everything visibly fades to a darker, slightly inverted color scheme. Pulling down the notification tray only makes the display darker, and it unquestionably inverts the colors, turning black-on-white text into white-on-black, the wifi indicator turns from blue to orange, and the battery indicator turns from green to blue and magenta.
I've reset the phone to factory, run the SBF through RSD Lite, and searched the Internet high and low for someone experiencing a similar problem. I finally resorted to taking it to Verizon, but (surprise, surprise) they couldn't figure it out, either.
There's been no water damage, and the phone seems to be in pristine condition. It works great in every other respect, but it's basically unusable if the screen doesn't show colors and brightness correctly. I love this phone and don't want to return it to the EBay seller I got it from, but I'm beginning to feel that I have no other choice.
Any help from the XDA gallery?
Well, it's a moot point now. I just returned the phone to the seller; should be getting a full refund.
I'll leave this up for the next guy with this problem. It won't offer much help, but at least he'll know he's not insane.

I9500 - Display issue: colors and turning on

Hi there
Today my girlfriend came and told me that her i9500 was "broken".
I took it, and it seemed to work, but she claimed that when she tries to turn it on, sometimes the screen remains black (except a thin colored bar on the top, and the capacitive buttons light on).
As the day progresed, it went from "sometimes" to MOST of the time, specially if you turn it on and off a few times very fast.
When in that state, the touchscreen is enabled, you can unlock it, etc.
I also noticed that if it is not set to the less saturated color profiles, it has weird lines and color banding or something (i am uploading pictures of that).
I had not seen reports of either problem, and i did google arround (i saw something about a total black screen, or the smart cover screen without one).
Should we give up and take it to warranty ?
I flashed "back" to the latest carrier firmware and it still does the color thing.
using samsung's diagnostic, i see that green is the only color that is fine.
Even on the less saturated color modes, i can see (but not take photos, believe me, it is worse in person) that red and blue are failing.
This phone is 3 months old (i bought it for my GF in august), she kinda wants a different phone now )

[Q] Notification Light No Red RGB values

I broke my screen a few days ago and had it taken in to be replaced. A few hours after receiving it I noticed the LED was blinking, but in strange colors different than those I set in Light Flow. The normally white notification is now cyan, yellow is now green, purple is blue. Red however doesn't display at all, so it seems that the red portion of the RGB scale is not functioning. Does anybody know what during the screen repair process might be causing this to happen? I'm almost certain its not software related as prior to having it repaired the LED was working correctly. Thanks!
There's a kind of filter for the LED on the display, not all replacement parts come with it and it's pretty easy to overlook.

There does seem to be a blue hue around the notification light area when held in the light... So could it be that this filter was mistakenly left on the old screen, instead of transferred to the new part? Or is it something attached to the screen that can't be moved from one part to the other?
It wound up being a damaged LED light

Phone screen blemish

Hello all,
After my phone got repaired 2 times for the same reason i want to know if other people experience this issue too?? It is most noticeable on black/blue screens.. Turns red/yellowish.. Now i have to send my phone for a third repair... Would it also be possible to just receive my money back?
Seems like the screen of this device is really really bad..
What turns red/yellowish? I am having my phone repaired right now cause I do see a reddish blurry dot on the screen when viewing video or black backgrounds.
Screen is on multiple spots discoloured on darker colours like black or blue. On those spots the colour is yellow/red where it should be the right colour.
I got that too, today, it weirded me out. The screen went full yellow tinted, and turning the screen off and on didn't do anything. So I restarted, but everything is fine now. But what about later ? Will it appear again ?

Replacement LCD doesn't show colors

Hi folks,
I dropped my G5+ (XT1687) the other day and cracked the screen. I ordered a SRJTEK replacement from Amazon, but after installation the new screen can't display colors properly. Instead of RGB it's more like "weak purple, weak green, gray" as shown in this picture from my housemate's phone. The picture shows the colors faithfully as on this replacement LCD. I've tried a factory reset and some display calibration apps, as well as the system UI tuner and the developer color-blindness options. Any app with color sliders shows the weird red, green and gray instead of normal RGB.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I'm assuming it's defective, but not sure if I should ask for a replacement or a refund.

Try connect the wire again of screen, if it doesn't work the replace it with new one.
Colors should be accurate if you installed it correctly. If you bent the digitizer in any way it might do that. Give it another try by gently pulling out the digitizer and putting it back in (use tweezers, NOT your hand to prevent short out). If that doesn't fix it then issue a return to the company for your money back.
