I know but ... some people are trying to hide that fact and say that the phone is perfect with that processor.. There is absolutely no logic to that, and that is pissing me off.
I really anticipated a lot from this phone, the specs are SO disappointing.
These are upgrades that should have been in the first release =/
look... its still beta software...
hopefully sony can get it optimized... but i'm with you guys i dont think it'll ever be as fluid as other OS's.
oh well at least its WIMO... so there's a high possibility that the software will be ported back to x1

that's true, and that would be a good thing. I'm only into the X2 because of its camera, and slightly larger screen.
If it ever drops to $400 or lower, I'd consider it.
Guys,
I wonder if Sony is going to pay Qualcomm for the video drivers this time around. Because if they're still sticking with the same POS chip and not pay for the driver....then it makes me wonder why Sony Ericsson still even exists. It's almost like a big slap in the face to anyone who stays loyal to SE. They think their consumer base will -always- buy whatever they throw at them, even if it's ****ty products.
Cheers.
someone in se camp is in trouble
Guess what - it's the good old 7200A that is the CPU of X2. And from what I read in gsmarena - there are plenty of lags around the UI and the video playback speed is far from superb (comparing to some other new devices). All in all, it's the old X1 with new look and camera. I don't think that's worth even considering as X1 upgrade. It's a strange thing SE is doing with this X2.

They are learning from apple. The X4 update would have xenon flash
x2 has x1 cpu
Loved my X1 especially that nice screen and hires.....but after using the HTC magic, I can't go back, the speed and responsiveness overcomes my love of my X1.
I even flashed the X1 with the EnergyROM with 6.5 etc in an attempt to want to keep it, but just find it lagging, espically if you are doing something, then phone rings and your try to answer.....ARGH, it takes 3 seconds to finally answer.......
Sadly my X1 goes for sale next week, my Magic, flashed with the Hero ROM is snappy, and does just about everything I want it to (I miss Tom Tom )
Maybe the X5 will do it for Sony....

I love my X1 and X2 is not much different, but I am hopeful new software will work fine on my X1.
I have read a lot of posts on how people feel about X1 and I think I am the only person who likes the panel interface . Anyway if the new panels are nice and slick and I can use them on my X1 I will be happy they made an X2, but for the camera and bigger screen alone I cannot pay for a new phone.
I haven't seen anything convincing to make me upgrade, and I am not sure about all the love that Android and iPhone products get, but for now I am sticking with WinMo. I got a lot of software I know and like. I suppose a slicker, full-featured OS would convince me, but iPhone is not full-feature, and I don't know about current Android software availability.
If there were an Android device with 850/1900Mhz HSDPA and a qwerty keyboard maybe I'd give it a shot, but until then X1 is king in my book.

Fracking loled. Sadly, it is true.
Back to OP.
How can some people defend this mockery by SE is beyond me.
"It is still an early version", "The soft will be optimized", etc.
Use your brains folks. More power hungry hardware and software CANNOT run better on the same old parts. It is simple logic that even a 3 year old can understand...
I get that your expectations were for more and that you are disappointed. I felt the same way after TP2 came out. This is no reason to deny the obvious truth and be blind fanboys though.
This is just a laughable attempt of SE to earn lots of cash while providing the smallest number of upgrades. In other words, they want to spend less and gain huge ammounts. I am sorry, but people are not that stupid and those kind of tricks won't work.
This is actually worse than the TP2 and iPhail upgrades lol.
I think that the X1 with better processor and everything else the same would have been a far better "upgrade" than this joke. Keep your useless 8mpx camera and accelerometer and give us the 800mhz - 1ghz cpu. You fail SE. You fail more than Apple and that is something I thought no one could achieve......

Well he has many many valid points.
But other's have conscience as well.
orelsi and doministry both have really good points, but constantly arguing over it won't change anything.
the truth is:
Its a sexy new phone, of course there are some features that appeal and some that don't, but that doesn't change that its NEW or that its a SUCCESSOR.
Similar to the iphone 3GS, minor upgrades, but still popular around the world.
So we can just conclude it with a "Hey, that phone looks like my Xperia X1! I think..."

Sure I do look.
Hello
First sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new to smartphones and Android and have a bit of a dilema!
I have an Xperia X10i and am supposed to be exchanging it for a HTC Desire next week, for reasons I will go into, but my big question first is am I making the right choice.
I got out my X10 yesterday after another delay with getting the HTC and after finding some UI changes and other apps on these awesome forums, I am starting to like the X10 more.
Sure the battery lasts about 9 hours but I'm looking into fixes, other things I didn't enjoy, like the UI I have changed with the awesome ADW Launcher.
Now the main reason I wanted to change the phone was, and this is going to sound really childish and stupid, but was for multitouch, well that and the newer version of android, which I think the X10 will get eventually, however for some reason I feel I need multitouch?
When getting a smartphone I looked forward to playing all my old Snes Roms etc on the way to work on the train, which is nigh on impossible to do properly without multitouch.
I installed the Wiimotion? app to use a Wii mote on my X10 which is awesome but won't help when I'm on the train.
Now I know that's a bit of a frivilous reason but I dunno, seeing all my work colleague pinch and zoom and playing Monkey Island and Conta got me jealous.
I haven't used a Desire but had a quick go of a mates Legend and wasn't blown away or anything. I actually think I prefer the look/style of my X10, but I still like the Desire, I know the camera's better on the X10 but that's pretty much it isn't it?
So there is my question really, should I change my X10 for a Desire, mainly for the updated Android and Multitouch!
I've posted this in X10 and Desire forums, again sorry if thats a no-no.
If you feel that you need multitouch than you should get a device that supports it. The X10 doesn't support multitouch either in software or in hardware.
Android will be updated on the X10 soon, either by SE themselves or the community so that is not a huge issue.
Just a heads up the Desire has the same multitouch problem as the nexus one look it up on youtube if you dont know what i am talking about. hope that helps
Just seen that vid thanks for the heads up
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
How about the Samsung Galaxy S? I would pick that over the Desire.
Wow, the multitouch on the N1 is horrendous. :O
I assumed it'd be atleast good considering that it's a google flagship phone.

Just checked, and I don't think it's available on TMobile, shame it looks a good phone. Thanks anyway
I have an X10 but i think the Desire edges it (for me anyways).
The reason being it's HTC and they have stronger support both from HTC themselves and from the Devs on here on XDA. They have also established themselves as the main player for android devices, and have more experience.
I accepted the intial shortcomings of the X10, with knowledge that the updates would be coming in a timely fashion. This includes both android and performance.
They have not and i'm not just talking about OS.
Basic Telephony - Call Volume
Input- entries not recognised by the digitizer, both keyboard and mediascape.
Functionality -Playlist creation
Sense is in it's 2nd revison and is very stable and I expect to see 2.2 and future versions on that device one way or another. I can't say that with same amount of confidence for the X10.
SE have made a very decent effort with the X10, but their support for the device will be it's downfall.

Dear Rakber,
If I were you, I would definately go for the desire. My teacher has got a desire and Ive got the X10i but I was blown away when I saw how good the desire is.
Take your chance before its too late!!

hiraj_panosian
X10 support the multitouch Hardware.... but it is limited by the OS 1.6...
With the update in 2.1, multitouch will be a reality on X10 !!!
OS 1.6 limite the number of colors dispayed (65K on 1.6, X10 can display 16M)
Video record in 720p will be possible on 2.1 too.
With same OS version (2.1) X10 has more advantage than Desire.. beautifull screen, camera (APN) and Video are Likely an Real APN SONY 8.1Mo...perfect colors, defeniton... The camera of Desire is Medium, Poor..
THe X10 is better on 3D, sound of MP3 is perfect !! great bass !
Advantage of Desire, the update is more frequent, and quickly...
As for me, My cousin have the desire, and i a have the X10, i prefert my X10 !!
X10 is recently rooted, then I think some devs will adapte the HTc Software to the X10

It's this kind of misinformation that led me to believe the X10 would be the better phone in the long run. To fair to Thol even SE support anaylsts were telling me it was a software limitation just days before release.
According to SE it will never support multitouch it's a limitation in both Hardware and software!
As for the 65k colour limitation SE have not been entirely clear on this point especially as the smaller devices ie mini and mini pro have a spec sheet that states the screen is capable of 16 million colours.
Both the mini and mini pro are on 1.6 too. Now if that's true why does Mini on 1.6 support 16m and the x10 on 1.6 support 65k??
Cheers for the replies guys.
Yea I've read conflicting reports on the multitouch being hardware or software limited, and the same with the screen colours, it's bloody annoying!
Another question which Thol made me realise is what's the mp3 player like on the Desire as that's probably the other main thing I use my phone as, it's seems pretty good on the X10, but as long as it sounds good and dosen't pop and crackle?

The thing is, Sony Ericsson themselves have stated and confirmed the hardware does not support multitouch. Please don't listen to these stupid rumors: they come from people who bought the X10 and regret not having multitouch and they want to believe by some miracle the X10 will get multitouch through a software update.
As for the 65k colors: I believe I read this is a hardware limitation as well, but I can't find any sources so maybe someone else can confirm or deny this with a valid source?

From everything I've read the X10 will not support multitouch.
But it will support an equivalent function using one finger that may be superior to multitouch as you can do all the same functions but can do them with one hand. I think we will be getting it with the next major update.
There was an app demonstrating this function but I deleted it and now cannot find it.
And fwiw, I am more and more falling in love with the elegance of the X10 in spite of some bugs and limitations.

Dispay type : TFT Capacitive = Multitouch (normaly)
Sorry, X10 is not Multitouch:
"Despite the capacitive technology, the X10 display won't be getting multi-touch support even with the latest OS."
>I realy think it can be multitouch, Sony have afraid about Apple's lawers... Htc Not !
Hosnestly, i had a iPhone 3G, i'd never use the Multitouch function... perhaps only on a game : air Hokey with my son (multi players)
But it is really 16M color :
"Sony Ericsson have also promised that Android 2.1 will at some point be available for the XPERIA X10 enabling the full use of the 16M color-ready display."
For a serious test :
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x10-review-463.php
For MP3 player, the X10 Player is more pretty, but too limited fuctions (no remote supported), I use MixZing (free, but with ads), it support this function (remote).
SE promise a update of the player (media scape) some time after the OS update...
Htc's devices are better for their software...But as i said, some devs will adapts these software on X10 too...

they said that about x10 mini also but they find a multitouch digitizer in it so don't believe sony as it is god
So im looking on buying a x10 but im what you´ll call a technology challenged person..........so yeah questions:
Is the bootloader unlocked?(i have the htcHERO presently so custom roms are nice)
How bad is lack of multi-touch?
How is the screen´s responsiveness?
It probably will be harder to port other phone roms since this is manefactured by S.E.(assuming the bootloader is unlocked of course.)
i need a new phone so my options are (spain)
htcLEGEND but its not much different from the HERO so i really dont want it, the SamsungWave but i would chose android over bada if given the chance(would it be possible to port android to it seeing how the GalaxyS is so similar?) or the x10.
Also, no i cant buy the NexusOne from vodafone
Salutations.
Using the Xperia X10 as a phone, well its good besides the low headset volume. Other wise it is a good device. With the latest updates you'll get good battery life and performance. Emails, messaging, web surfing, media its all good. Listening to calls is kinda of an issue, well for me.
Multi touch is a concern if you LOVE pinch and zoom and if youll be doing serious gaming. Other wise it is not an issue. Get JustPictures it has one pinch zoom with is more practical.
Screen is good, but now its only at 65k, 16 millions is on the way.
Finally to be honest Iam not sure about the bootloader. Some say its hacked others say its not, but theres some cyanogen mod thread in the developments part of the forum. So something is coming up for sure.
1. Nope, not yet.
2. Bad if you play games, doesn't matter if you don't.
3. Good
4. When bootloader will be unlocked it will have custom ROMs. Maybe not from other phones but will have.
Thanks for the reply/s but what about the Samsungwave? I tried it today and the screen is amazing and the BadaOs seemed like a custom skin of Android ala SENSE, of course it dosent have android apps nor customization but I love the phone's specs if you could put android there it would be the greatest phone in terms of software/hardware/price but I'm sure this has been said.(I can't buy the galaxyS cuz its on Movistar these guys are real pricks)
Im really desperate right now gotta buy it in like 2 days max. What should i do?
The x10 has the bigger screen and android the wave tops it in everything but has the BADAos which besides having a retarded name is ugly.I dont know which to pick if i could put android in the wave i would buy it but its not clear if android can be ported to it.
Please help this post has over 200 viewers but only 2 comments.
You want the best phone today? Then choose Samsung Galaxy S...
The design matters to you? Then take the X10
Samsung Wave it's a no for me.. The screen is too small and there are not too many third-party apps available (for sure not as many as we have for Android).
i need one with a contract that isnt from movistar(i think its the equivalent to o2 in the uk) those bastards have the galaxy since july 1st, its the same thing they did with the iphone only they had it for like 2 years cuz there service sucks they need to buy exclusive rights so only they can sale it
Regarding Colour...
Hey!
Since X10 has 65K colours, after we get the 2.1/2.2 upgrade, the phone will have 16M colours?
So, just to confirm, the hardware (display screen) is capable to get 16M colours?
Right now, due to 1.6 OS, the OS limits the colours to 65K?
If you know what a bootloader is you are not technologically challenged .
I haven't played with a wave but considering your options i would go with the x10. Android is proven, it looks beautiful and custom roms are on the way. The only downside is no mt right now (if you play games).
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
You'll never get android on the Wave.. so go for the X10.. it really is a great bit of kit.
I dont really play games aside from some party games (drinking, dares) a friend lended me his x10 today to root and instal the setCPU app(knowing to do this is easy and does not require to much technology knowledge ) and i played a few hours with the x10 i really liked the design and the big screen although the responsivness seemd a bit off sometimes (i didnt get to play with it after i installed the latest firmware so maybe this changed)
also is there something preventing porting android to the Wave?(aside from hardwork)

The lack of multi-touch is insane. What on earth were SE thinking. I need to have as many fingers on my phone as possible at any given moment. In fact I prefer to dial numbers by hitting every number at exactly the same time, and just hoping they end up in the right order.
no but seriously, there was a time before multi-touch, just like there was a time before touchscreens.
Personally my biggest gripe with the x10 is that it wasn't made by Apple, but thankfully I have the x10i, which still have the 'i' in it, so I can sleep at night...
that cracked me up.i just got the x10 furtunately mines also the x10i

We’ve been hearing about the upcoming Android Gingerbread release in Q4 for a while now. And also how the new Android user interface will blow our socks off.
Still, everyone’s been pretty sketchy about exact details of what’s actually coming to Android Gingerbread. Until now.
Mobile-review.com’s Eldar Murtazin just went and spilled a boatload of interesting details about the upcoming Android Gingerbread release. Don’t run searching for these details to his blog or his main site, you won’t find anything there yet.
Eldar did all the spilling in his Russian podcast “Digestiv”. It’s audio only, so Google Translate won’t help you much. If you do not speak Russian, you’ll have to trust me on this
Her we go:
Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. First handsets shipping in November/December – for the Holiday Season.
Minimum hardware requirements for Android 3.0 devices are: 1GHZ CPU, 512MB or RAM, displays from 3.5” and higher. (We all, of course, heard that Android handsets with 2GHz CPU’s are coming)
New 1280×760 resolution available for the devices with displays of 4” and higher. (Anyone thinking about Android tablets now? )
Completely revamped user interface. If you want to get a feeling of what Android 3.0 Gingerbread UX is like, check out the Gallery App on Nexus One. The same overall feel, light animated transitions, etc. Natively, through all the UI.
Android’s split into 2 branches becomes official. 3.0 for top of the line/high end devices. Cheap, low-end mass market handsets will keep Android 2.1/2.2
Eldar also confirmed my musings about the death of third party User Interface shells like HTC Sense, MotoBlur, etc;. Android 3.0 basically kills the need for them.
Still, there’s some hope for third party vendors here – while Google takes over the UI on the high end, vendors get to keep their UI shells/improvements on mass market Android smartphones, running Eclair or Froyo.
Update: I posted an update to this post, where I address Dan Morrill’s tweet, and do some corrections/clarifications regarding the upcoming Android update number issues, “minimum” specs – thay are actually only “recommended”, and the the split between high end Android 3 – low end Android 2.2 devices – it’s not an official Google policy, but it is happening nonetheless.
I'd say. Android 2.x seems to run just fine on the underpowered devices such as the Moment/Intercept, and yet it screams on my EVO. It screams even more with 2.2 and the new java compiler. I'd have a hard time believing that 3.0 is so advanced as to absolutely require 1 GHz. I'd think it's the same as Windows 7. Works swell on an Atom single-core, but really jacks up on an i7.
As for Google taking over the UI aspect, I don't believe for a minute that HTC will stand for it.

what are you talking about google already Has UI control and they let venders (sprint, verizon) meddle with it to theyre specifications.. This article just confirms they will continue the same business practice.

Anyhow, I think vanilla android needs a huge UI refresh. Perhaps I'll look at going senseless with 3.0.
It would be even better if they got TAT to redo it with that flowing curtain UI I saw them demo on engadget. That would be sick.
Spoken into my EVO cause I'm probably driving

That is A nice home the UI should definitely be put on gingerbread hopefully Google will work with TAT home
Sent from my HTC Evo 4G
While it's a little bit flashy for me (I like to keep it clean and simple, yet very functional) I'm almost drooling over tat. I want it on my evo right now.
Any word on when it'll be out?
WOW
Thanks for the link, that was impressive. After reading their page, I can't believe they don't have plans to release that on the market, that thing would sell like hotcakes once the word got out. If anyone is testing that and has access to it, could they send me a message here please

After Gingerbread... Honeycomb
http://gizmodo.com/5628353/samsung-confirms-honeycomb-will-follow-gingerbread-in-android-name+game
First off that TIT home replacement looks pretty cool, I could see a lot of people buying that.
However I don't see it being as big as HTC Sense or Moto Blur, after reading the FAQ it says that they aren't looking to release it in the android market anytime soon, but rather sell it to verizon, sprint, or samsung to use on a flagship TIT phone.
which I think is a huge mistake, especially when Android says 3.0 is going to bring major UI improvements that will decrease the amount of tweaks to the android OS, (HTC Sense, Moto blur)
However android 3.0 sounds great.
The way I think about it is, imagine the chage that 2.1 brought from 1.5 on a Hero (if you had one) or the major UI revamp,
2.0 brought new icons, app improvements, everything looked really nice.
The market in 1.5 and 1.6 looked down right horrible, black background, with grey colors.
2.0 made a huge difference in terms of making android looks like a serios OS.
2.1 improved the lock screen, screens, live wallpapers(few other things)
2.2 brought flash, huge speed improvement, more support, and many many more cool features.
If 3.0 is as hyped up as its supposed to be its gonna be awesome!
However it is needed, because some parts of the android OS need work.
for example the settings, and other menus are black and boring, users like seeing alot of colors and a nice screen and all that good stuff.
yeah, my EVO has an 800*480 screen resolution, but when certain parts of the OS look dark, and boring it doesn't make it look as nice.
Hi guys, so I'm buying a phone, would you recommend me x8. If yes why, if not why not?
Ya surely i will recommend Its a simple handy n compact samrtphone with great features..
I would buy one if I could a cheap place to unlock it...
Hi. I just got one X8 for my wife. I have played with it for a while, and it works great.
It looks nice, feels nice, and it works nice.
But there are two things that I don't like:
1. UI: I didn't find it very practical and I wasn't able to find a way to change default color scheme; that's a kind of a problem, because apps in drawer have white letters and home screen background stays even when drawer is opened, and if you have some white parts on background, then you can't read names of apps.
On other hand, my wife likes UI, so it depends on personal preferences will it be a problem, or not.
2. lack of some decent document reader; my wife will sometimes like to read some PDF books on it, but I wasn't able to find good PDF reader that will work on this phone. For example, I have on my Galaxy S ThinkOffice witch was supplied as stock app with phone, and it's great for any document reading and editing. So, it will be a good thing if this phone had at least some decent viewer.
All in all, it's a nice phone, and it will be nicer when update to android 2.1 comes, and I can recommend it to anybody who is new to smartphones and android, or someone who want's small, practical and simple smartphone (with good looks). Also, I can recommend it to advanced users who need nice backup phone or second phone, beside more potent devices from top models.

1. You could try ADW Launcher from the market. You can tweak it to feat your needs, feels fast and you can add more widgets on the same screen.
2.I am using BeamReader and it does it's job. Decent PDF reader. Find it on the market also.
Comming from a HTC Hero, Xperia X8 doesn't have that sturdy build, the back cover cracks a lot but feels ok in the hand and looks good. Android 2.1 will be a big improvement as the hardware is quite good for its price, UI and 3d games run smoother than on the Hero (even on 2.2.1). Very good for a mid class device. I recommand it. Also, battery life is decent for a smartphone.
I got one, and my emotions are a bit mixed. Sort of a love-hate relationship.
Edit 2: Text below was written before the release of 1.6. I am now running 2.1, and have no problems with games, and is generally happy about my x8.
As I see it, there's 2 major cons to this phone. Firstly, the very very low priority on upgrades for Android version. I bought mine with a promise of an october update to 2.1. Now it's late november, the x10's have gotten their upgrade, and I'm still waiting... till the end of 2010 by the looks of it. No official word on 2.2 or 2.3 update yet... Not promising imo. With the time it took updating the x10, I can't think how it'll be for future updates to the x8, seeing it got even lower priority than the x10's. I'd stay away from SE until they show some sign of shaping up their update policies.
Games... if you like games, get another phone. The only game that doesn't freeze up after 10secs-15minutes is Alchemy. Anything more graphics intensive, and it'll freeze up. It runs the games just fine until it freeze tho. If this is due to ancient android version, I have no idea. But I guess since the games are compatible with 1.6, they should run on an 1.6-phone. This applies to Angry Birds, Zenonia, Blow Up, Yumsters, you name it... pretty much any game I've tried. It's not isolated to my phone either, if you google the issue yourself.
On the other hand... ignoring these issues, I think its a very good phone for it's price. If you don't mind not having access to the latest apps, or not being able to play games, you might like this phone alot... however...
If I was to make the choice again, I'd go with another manufacturer that has a track record of putting out android updates fairly quickly...
Edit: Forgot to mention the annoyance of all the bundled demo versions of apps and games that you simply cant remove from your phone unless you root it. Another little sign of Sony Ericsson simply not "getting it".

Uhh, you know those 'bundled demo's are put there by your provider, right? Not the fault of SE. Rooting then nuking them isn't hard. Also, I've had no problems with games on my phone, Angry Birds works fine.
It's disappointing about the lack of Android updates though. Sony Ericsson really need to release the boot-loader code or something.
The default home-screen is pretty terrible. Get ADW or something.
All up, it is very worth it, seeing as it is one of the cheapest Android phones out there. Unless you can afford something better, I'd recommend it.

Just to clear things up. I bought mine sim-free with only the stuff SE themselves put on there. If I didn't remove it already, I'd post a list for you. It wasn't hard to get rid of, but that doesn't make it any more right, imo.
Interesting that your birds aren't freezing. But thats another discussion.
I like this phone and actually I "downgraded" from the X10 mini because I could not use the small screen on the X10. It is a very good phone for the money, good screen, good battery and I like the SE UI.
But... I see the appalling quality of the camera goes without mention in this thread?
If you want to take some pics with the phone: Avoid. No auto focus and no flash means if you are not outside in daylight you have to be lucky to snap a decent picture.
Worst camera on a mobile phone I have used in years! Not a problem for myself, but be warned.
Thank you guys, Well I have about 10 days to choose: GT540 or X8, they are bouth same price here in Croatia. My main concern about X8 is interface, can it completely be changed with some program, theme, etc?
As others mention, you can use interface replacements like ADW Launcher on the X8. This lets you put more than the default 1 widget pr screen, adds a quick-launch bar and allows for scrollable widgets like Pure Messenger.
I have no experience with the GT540, but I can't help but notice that it's got a resistive, not capacitive screen. If I was considering buying one, I'd definately go to a store and check out if the screen seems less responsive than the one on X8.

Yes, you can change the interface with ADW Launcher (Launcher Pro does not support 1.6 but once 2.1 arrives, there will be no problem). I rooted the device and used SystemApp Remover to remove the stock interface and bundled crapware. I would choose the X8 simply because it has a capacitive screen. Resistive is so old school
I recommend this phone to everyone than x10 mini/pro. According to the price and features. Although the camera is bad. But x8 is better than x10 mini/pro.

With the release of 2.1, scratch all my previous comments. For its price, the x8 is a good little device, imo.

The camera is not so bad actually. Just because no light or flash. But still good in light condition and mms usage.
Oh yes. And no smile detection, face recognition, macro, focus, etc. The camera is just so plain.

I agree, usually when I get my x8 I will install a lot of games. And it is lack of space, I can't install more apps unless I modified it so that I can apps 2 sd. So now I just use it for browser, ebbudy and listening to musics. that's what I did to x8. If you want a gaming phone get lg optimus or galaxy s. xperia arc I wouldn't reccomend so much is because it's just like x10 just added some graphic card or what-so-ever, why not I get a lg optimus which is cheaper than arc? lol
Xperia X8 isn't perfect phone... but I don't regret it, that I've bought it. Firstly, stock camera app is really weak, but when I've installed Vignette, my photos looks really decent. Stock ROM isn't so laggy, but app like Apps2SD forced my to change launcher. So, if you're planning to buy a Xperia X8, buy it, and obtain some XDA great 2.2.1 or 2.3.4 ROM
