If you need help partitioning, get a hold of me on AIM and I'll help you. My screenname is vinbeaver.
JACxHEROSKI.
His Hero ROM ports for 32B are pretty fantastic. They are fast, well put together, somewhat optimized, and is quite feature-rich.
Just remember, your phone will never be as fast as mine. I mean, at least if you're running a HERO port on your MyTouch.
I have Mytouch 32B, tried two Hero ROMs
1. QTek Hero ROM (Magic, MyTouch, 32B)
2. ZeroXd Hero ROM (Magic, MyTouch, 32B)
I had problem with both, screen gets fuzzy once phone sleeps. I did some research saw a lot of people having same problem with MyTouch coz of lower RAM then Magic or release date or whatever....
So is there a hero app i can use with out having this problem. I like the exchange total sync in that plus keyboard plus all the bling bling. Right now am using CyanogenMod vers. 4.0.4 with a black hero theme on it, speed is great but wanna play with hero ROM. Please suggest.
Thanks

Try out evil's hero rom...i didn't get the BSOD (blurry screen of death) with that rom but on Dizzy/haykuro I did!
ive tried every hero rom and im sad to say im not happy with them but what can you do when the phones not built to run something like that... it just drives me nuts that every time i press the home key it goes to that htc loading screen for at least a minute
im using zeroxd's new hero rom now which is the only hero that seems to let me get calls... on any other one when someone calls me it takes the trackball blinks but it takes so long to load the screen i cant see whos calling me but i am happy to say from trying just about every rom i have not felt the bsod... yet
OK i have 1 question, which ROM for MYTOUCH 32B doesnt have an issue LOADING HOME SCREEN everytime i exit from WEB BROWSER or some APPS? im sick off it.pls help me
Trust me.
Flash JAC's latest.
You won't be disappointed. All of the HERO ROM developers work closely. You'd be surprised on how often the find one another working on another project that couldn't really be considered their own.
Every JAC ROM I've flashed to my G1 and MyTouch - has been flawless. Great experiences with each build thus far. Haykuro and Drizzy, now that's another story.
Hey all! Have thee been any new findings on the Slide? Such as awesome ROMage or blazing kernals? 1+GHz yet? PM me.. Ill b back later after I trade my Vision in.. :'-( What can I say.. Vision is an AMAZING device, but I need the money to save to head to East Europe and spread the love of Jesus Christ!

Well the best thing out there so far is the latest Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC3. It's stock Android based with tons of enhancements and very stable. Everything works, wifi, bluetooth, etc.

What is the most current radio for the slide? I just put CM6.1 RC2 on my GF's slide, but nothing else additional (kernel, radio, etc.). What else do i need to get it as up-to-date as whatever OTAs are out?
(I'm coming from my DX rom experience so i don't know as much about HTC devices as I do the DX...)

I have one question for the people using cm6, once your rooted and have flash cyanogen are you still able to use flash lite to see videos on your web browser???

No, i guess only in youtube.
I Just got a new Mytouch 4G Black after my nexus one broke and After Rooting the phone and playing around with some roms. I find it a lil odd that I still find the Stock Rom with Bloatware much better and cleaner rom than whats out there. Seems its fast its useful and entertaining to work with.
Has anyone else felt that way about the stock rom being superior to custom roms?
yes I do somewhat like the stock rom that was shipped. Only issue for me is I can use majority of the apps on there since Im not with tmobile. It is fairly fast and overall good performance. Ice glacier is basically same and then CM7 is nice as well. Not too many roms out there currently with the mytouch, missed the nexus one somewhat for roms. Other than that this phone is great, battery life typically two days with cm7
Agreed... A rooted Stock ROM is already great as is, and so far the only customized ROM I've been happy with is Iced Glacier, Its coz its pretty much stock without the bloatware. I remember the days of the Nexus One where I had to flash ROM's 2-3x a day. whew!

Yes, this ROM is a rooted version of the HTC Gratia (European version of the Aria), so all of the HTC features work, including the FM Radio, WiFi, BT, etc.
a simple read through of this Liberated Aria Froyo ROM thread has all the info you need.

+1 - If you want to keep Sense, it's a great ROM and very stable.
I had reserves as well, but I rooted to FR008 ROM and haven't had a single problem. Been running it for around a month now.
This was the first rom I flashed when I rooted (I only had the phone less than 3hours ) it was stable and everything worked perfectly. I've moved onto the cm7 nightlys tho

I'm running the liberated rom right now. I keep hear about that cm7 nightly is that gingerbread rom? How would you compare it the liberated rom and I don't mean sense, basically with do you is laggy? I'm always looking to bump my aria up! So far I got my up to 900 on the quadrant standard test!

CM is lighter than sense, smaller footprint, generally very responsive. You do give up a lot of eye candy relative to sense, CM in comparison just looks unpolished. Of course polish is not its purpose. You can get a lot of the eye candy back with Launcher Pro + Fancy Widgets Pro + other free stuff on the market. Plus you get some nice features with LP. In fact right now I run FR008 with LP as the default launcher.
Why not just switch to CM? The biggest issue for me with CM is the total lack of ability to sync desktop Outlook without your data ending up on Google's servers. As best as I can tell there is no 3rd party app, paid or free, that will let you do that. The basic problem seems to be that stock Android will not allow calendars that are not synced to the cloud but still visible to the OS. HTC's version of Android does that, and does it well. So I am sticking with Sense for the moment, despite a few drawbacks.
Rooted mine yesterday finally and flashed liberated fr008 Rom w/ sense. Seemed to be a lot faster than original 2.1 for a few hours but now everything lags and incredible amount and battery is about half as efficient than 2.1. I also noticed my apps such as HTC music player and email are constantly running in the background even right after I kill them they will restart immediately. Do not really want to flash a whole new Rom w/out sense already since I just finished this one. I did not use Hong Kong kernel because I have no clue how to... wondering if that is the reason this is happening. This is my first time ever modding a phone of any kind. Does anyone else have this issue?

I installed FR008 and had the same issues. Rolled back to FR007 and have not had any issues with the phone. Have been running it for a few months now. Went FR008 for about 2 weeks and went back.

Did you have to flash the Hong kong kernel with fr007 or did u leave the original? And is that with the sense UI?

No I believe it is the Graitia kernel. It is running sense. Running Liberated Aria (FRF91) with kernel 2.6.32.21. Hope that helps.
Hi everyone, I apologize ahead of time if these questions are redundant and can be found in different forums. I recently received a MyTouch 4G from T-Mobile as a replacement for my wife's lost Samsung Galaxy S 4G and am trying to set up a stable system for her.
I've already downgraded, rooted, and installed a custom ROM (currently CM7 7.2.0 RC1) but wanted to ask a few questions.
1) ROM recommendation? Rock-Solid ROM with non-buggy WiFi calling is a must since we have poor reception at home. I imagine that a ROM based off of an official T-Mobile base for the Glacier would be best but I'm not sure.
1a) For such a ROM, is there a preferred standout kernel?
2) Is there any hope for ICS roms to gain solid WiFi Calling capability?
3) Out of curiosity, why are there so many ROM ports? Are they just as stable and functional as one specifically for the Glacier?
Thanks a lot for your answers! I know it's very subjective but I'm hoping to get some good feedback so I don't have to keep deleting her data as I try out different things
Virtuous Unity is an oldie but goodie and everything works. Use the kernel it comes with.
There is always hope for any feature. Wifi calling will work well on ICS eventually. Give it time.
There are many very good roms for other phones that port well. The MyTouch 4G has two "sister" phones that share the same SoC and port easily. Why build a whole new ROM when you can port? Also, keep in mind that a non-ported ROM has to be compiled from source which, for the most parrt, limits you to AOSP, AOKP and CyanogenMod. We have lots of that. Any sense ROM that isn't based off of a glacier/panache build is going to be a port, as well as MIUI.
Edit: I almost forgot. Android Revolution HD is right up there with VU in functionality and is still supported. There is a camcorder fc, but a fix can be found in the thread. Doubleshot cam and 720p setting, as I recall.
Android Revolution HD
Best. ROM. Available.
yeah virtuous is good too, but ARHD is so much faster

I used to have an HTC Sensation (which my 1-year old son tragically dropped into a cup of joe) and ARHD was definitely one of the most stable and popular ROMs.
However, because of his commitment to a stock experience I had to flash several add-ons to get desirable tweaks (battery%, ultra-smooth rosie, extended quick-settings, custom power-button settings).. are these also available for the Glacier version? (I read the thread and it seemed like the latest version does not have these yet?)
Thanks again!
ps. Is it best to keep the kernel that comes with it?
flash rc tweaks. There is a link in that thread somewhere. Also, that kernel is really good. If you don't like it you could try thederekjay's sense kernel, but I doubt you will need to change.
The ROM called LeeDroid is good too, I've been using it for several weeks, no problems.

Thanks!
I installed ARHD 7.0.3 with RC Tweaks and it's been pretty darn amazing. Everything works (so far) and fast!
Thanks again for not letting me flounder around.. very much appreciated!
The real test is whether or not SHE likes it.
Haha.
I'm using CM7.2 RC1 along with thederekjay's Darkside Kernel and i have absolutely no problems and beyond excellent batt. life.

Call me blasphemous but Sense feels a lot smoother than CM.. have you seen how smoothly the screen transitions ? It also looks more polished IMO.
Having said that, is there any way to adjust the haptic feedback level on ARHD? It's too strong for my liking.. tried to search but didn't turnip anything.
