Alright so I've already asked this question twice in the past couple months nut no one seems to be able to help me. I cart get the phone to vibrate for notifications like text messages or email but only for phone calls. Is really like it if I could get some help because when I have the volume on I rarely hear it and it would make things easier for me. Thanks.

I have had the same issue,
What I did to overcome the problem, which might work for you, was to download Handcent messaging and using the notification vibrate on there. It works fine when I go through it.

has anyone else had these three issues with handcent sms
i've used the g1 fine since release and have upgraded to the htc desire last week, i find three issues with handcent on the desire
1. the "notification" led stops flashing after a few minutes until i unlock the phone, then it starts flashing again
2. unable to change the LED colour, there is the option in the settings but this merely disables the led when changing the colour
and
3. in the notifcation bar next to the clock, there used to be the handcent envelope and then it would have a number of unread messages - it now just shows the envelope with no number. even though in the settings i've asked it to show the number of unread messages with the envelope
i have played with the settings as i've used it fine with the g1 but cant get any of these things working with the desire, is anyone else facing these issues?

I also got issues with the LED-Color in handcent...
But for me its more like there is NO led notification even though its activated.
LED me know BETA notifies me very well - so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the led...
I used Handcent for a long time on my Desire - it always worked well.
Last weekend I flashed the new DeFroST-Rom and with this it doesn't work

when i get a text still getting 2 symbols coming up one hancent one from messages turned everything off apart from handcent ....i give up
my one is working fine, will post my settings up soon. it might help

Does anyone know how to get push notifications to work on HTC Desire HD. I am using 2.2 and ticked all notifications in settings. I dont get any sound or vibration when I get a new chat message!!!
There are no push notifications on Facebook... Only check by intervall... But I can be wrong !
even i check all the settings but after i log out and log back in the settingd are back to default.

The Push Messages has been enabled in the latest version of Facebook available for download from Market. the Stock version of facebook doesn't support Push Notification. Guess this update cam out 3 days back.

Didn't notice that you are already on 1.5. I didnt have to change a thing...installed and the Push Notification started working almost immediately.

mine works all the time as well. i find it irritating so i might turn it off. latest version of facebook
It works intermittently on mine, hope they sort this out.
Also, does anyone else have the problem with the contact pictures/thumbnails disappearing? It's driving me crazy! I'm running the stock HTC ROM.

The new chat notification is the most irritating **** i've ever encountered. One notification is fine. 80 notifications after 3 minutes? No thanks! I deleted the update after a couple of hours.
Yes, i disabled the notifications in the settings, but that didn't help. God i hate it!
I'm getting the push notifications when someone commented on a post or replied to a post. It doesn't work for comments on videos though.
Has anyone else had problems using GO SMS?
I really like this app and want to continue using it but it's acting really weird.
I'm using GO SMS Pro and when I have a convo with someone I get the notifications fine but when I go back into the thread to see the messages I sometimes see 5 of my texts followed by 5 or so other the other person's.
With one conversation it even listed all my friend's messages first and then all of mine. Is anyone else getting this problem or know of a fix?
Btw, I'm using a Bell Atrix on Rogers.

Go to Go SMS> Settings> Important Tips>Sort type of conversation messages>Sort by order of messages
I was having the same issue when i first installed and Darkkamikaze's suggestion was exactly the issue
That did the job.
So simple yet I didn't see it. I was about to uninstall, glad I didn't.

anyone having a problem with Go SMS syncing with contacts?
check the actual times of the text messages. They might be incorrect. If thats the case, get sms fix times from the market.
My atrix seems to be receiving every message I am sent multiple times, usually about 4 times. This is really beginning to annoy me.
I run Handcent and yes I have turned notifications off for the default text app.
This problem has only started over the last couple of days and I cannot work out why as I did not change anything to cause this.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be apreciated.

Probably not exactly what you want to hear, but I think the best thing to do would be to set your Handcent SMS back to its default settings then use the walkthrough on the Handcent site.
When I started using it I had a similar issue, but their information is laid out very well and was able to help me fix my problem.

did you make sure to freeze the stock text messaging app via titanium backup? That eliminated the issue for me.

Firstly, I apologize if this has been mentioned before. I wanted to share it though in case it has not been. I have searched and haven't found anything in these forums. Anyways, I have had an annoying issue for a while now where the ringtone only plays half the sound when I receive an SMS message. Another friend of mine has had the same issue. Email and phone notification ringtones are fine. If any of you are having this problem, this seems to fix it.
Go to your SMS mesages -> Choose Settings -> then Uncheck 'Delete Old Messages'.
It is trying to delete an older message in the SMS thread and while doing so, the sound stops playing so you only hear half.
I found this on another android forum as its been bugging me for a while now, so just wanted to share
