Does anyone know how to get push notifications to work on HTC Desire HD. I am using 2.2 and ticked all notifications in settings. I dont get any sound or vibration when I get a new chat message!!!
There are no push notifications on Facebook... Only check by intervall... But I can be wrong !
even i check all the settings but after i log out and log back in the settingd are back to default.

The Push Messages has been enabled in the latest version of Facebook available for download from Market. the Stock version of facebook doesn't support Push Notification. Guess this update cam out 3 days back.

Didn't notice that you are already on 1.5. I didnt have to change a thing...installed and the Push Notification started working almost immediately.

mine works all the time as well. i find it irritating so i might turn it off. latest version of facebook
It works intermittently on mine, hope they sort this out.
Also, does anyone else have the problem with the contact pictures/thumbnails disappearing? It's driving me crazy! I'm running the stock HTC ROM.

The new chat notification is the most irritating **** i've ever encountered. One notification is fine. 80 notifications after 3 minutes? No thanks! I deleted the update after a couple of hours.
Yes, i disabled the notifications in the settings, but that didn't help. God i hate it!
I'm getting the push notifications when someone commented on a post or replied to a post. It doesn't work for comments on videos though.

i finally found a hero rom that works for me but one thing i dislike is that popup sms is very buggy on it. ill get notified a few times for each message. ill get the same notification twice, about 20 mins apart. is there any other app out there that works like popup? i need my screen to "wake up" when i receive an SMS/MMS.
by any chance have you made sure to disable notifications in the sms settings of the device. Also check to make sure you do not have the sms popup setting for reminders enabled. Not using it right now only cause I have been toying with different roms and have been reformatting my sd card with each rom but when I was using it at first with the qtek hero rom I did not have any issues. I am about to flash the evil 1.6 and will test it on that rom and post findings.

Try dgAlert Classic, allows you to set some good sms mms settings including; wake up, led color etc...
yes i did have my notifications set up correctly in both popup sms and the native sms app. i will try this other app and see how it goes. thank you both for the replies.
I have been running on evil's 1.6 hero rom on tmobile mytouch and have had no issues or conflicts with sms popup

ok guys...a little help please. could you please navigate me to sms popup settings? not finding and since there aren't too many places to look, i'm either a doof (likely) or fatal1ty1.4hero has it removed (less likely).
has anyone else gone through this issue yet? i sort of feel like im the only one lol. im currently on modaco 2.2 but popup sms wouldnt work modaco 1.51, a few drizzy roms, and a few jac roms. on modaco it doesnt turn my screen on but when i hit a key the message with pop up notification shows up (but that sort of defeats the purpose of the app). my settings are correct (notifications in native messaging are turned off, notifications turned on in popup sms, message priority setting is on high). i also think i miss a lot of message when i have popup installed.
as a former iphone user this app is huge for me. i normally have to keep my phone on vibrate so its nice to be able to see the screen light up and also have the photo, name, reply button right on the little window. i would be extremely grateful for anyone who could help me set this up on my hero rom!

Just switched back to windows mobile from android when the HD2 came out. One of my biggest issues is the fact that I do not receive notifications for messages/alerts from fb on my home or notifications screen. You have to go into the FB app and refresh to see anything new. Does anyone know of an app/solution. The SMS notifications don't work quite well.
I know what you are talking about with the notifications pooping up at the top. I know that my Mom, Wife, and sister all have Android Devices and they all hate that feature. I don't know of a way to get that, however there is the Facebook Tab you could install that could eliminate one step and you just slide to the Facebook Tab and hit refresh.

Could try that. leave it running in the backrground and you get a pop up notifaction whenever you get a new comment or message. I used it for a while but i got rid of my Facebook cause its a pain in the ass!
You can setup Facebook (the site, not anything related to your phone) to send you e-mails for your notifications...

use FIM. It runs in the background and delivers a WM notification if there is an update on FB.
I was actually coming on here to post that. I came across the app and it's amazing. Does everything I need. Notifcations, Chat, etc. Thanks Guys!

has anyone else had these three issues with handcent sms
i've used the g1 fine since release and have upgraded to the htc desire last week, i find three issues with handcent on the desire
1. the "notification" led stops flashing after a few minutes until i unlock the phone, then it starts flashing again
2. unable to change the LED colour, there is the option in the settings but this merely disables the led when changing the colour
and
3. in the notifcation bar next to the clock, there used to be the handcent envelope and then it would have a number of unread messages - it now just shows the envelope with no number. even though in the settings i've asked it to show the number of unread messages with the envelope
i have played with the settings as i've used it fine with the g1 but cant get any of these things working with the desire, is anyone else facing these issues?

It seems it doesn't support draft sms!
I also got issues with the LED-Color in handcent...
But for me its more like there is NO led notification even though its activated.
LED me know BETA notifies me very well - so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the led...
I used Handcent for a long time on my Desire - it always worked well.
Last weekend I flashed the new DeFroST-Rom and with this it doesn't work

when i get a text still getting 2 symbols coming up one hancent one from messages turned everything off apart from handcent ....i give up
my one is working fine, will post my settings up soon. it might help

Hello everyone.
So first of all I love this phone, the speed, the capabilities and especially the battery life.
What I don't feel is tied to just this phone is me not being able to get facebook notifications. I get a notification if I receive a new message but that's all.
This happened on my Note 3 as well. I have logged in on a friends phone into my facebook account and the same thing. I do not get any notifications. I even used the old method of trying to log in on a blackberry and that didn't work either.
What I have noticed in Facebook Account settings is that I can not check on "group post or comments" under my notification settings.
I'm thinking it's some old app that I used on another phone that stopped this from working but I could be wrong. I have tried to turn off app on the platform setting and still nothing works.
All I receive now is the number of notifications "number" on the Facebook app icon. Don't shoot me but I like getting the actual notifications from Facebook to my phone to alert me.
Does any of you kind souls have an idea to how I can fix this? Or something you have tried that got your notifications working again.
I know about some third party apps but that's not what i'm looking for if I can help it.
Any help or ideas help.
