HI guys im a Rogers Magic plus on ATT 3g user. i Updated my phone to the new rogers 2.1 android update last week but i want froyo.
im very dumb when it comes to phone hacking so i dont understand most of the lingo being said around here.
i have : sapphire pvt 32a ship s-on h
hboot-1.76.0010 (sapp50000)
cpld-12
radio-6.35.16.19
what do i need to get froyo? i installed Universal Androot and it said the phone was rooted successfully. I installed Rom Manger v2 from the market and it said i have flashed ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1....
what is the next step or did i do something wrong already? plz help? also i need suggestions on the best froyo magic rom.

Dont use ROM manager because there were bricked phones, only froyo for magic is CYnaogenmod which works way worse then then Stock rogers rom adn you have to downgrade you radio and spl which will lower your signal so stick with Stock ROM or install Rooted Stock rom from Capy

Recently I updated my Nordic HTC Magic with an official update on HTC's site.
Before I had the update I had the HBOOT-1.3300.0009 (SAPP10000) SPL. I loved and had tried many Hero ROMs and even cyanogens mod. But then I restored my Nandroid backup and wiped the phone to install the official update...
After I updated the phone I now had the HBOOT-1.33.0010 (SAPP10000) SPL which is also known as perfect SPL....
Is there anyway to revert back to my old SPL? Or do I have to install one of Amon_Ra's Engineering SPL?
If I have to install one of the Engineering SPL's is there anyway to "restore" when HTC sends out an officially 1.6 android or cant I go back when i first go for it?
Oh and can anyone also post a method to get custom ROMs up again on the 32a with perfect SPL... It seems that all the tutorials I found in the search was for the 32b device...
Bump... I really need to know this...
Bump... I REALLY wish to know how to bypass perfect SPL for 32a and how to make it "normal" later on.....
would be nice if someone could share this information with us since i have the same problem!

Why not just try any spl you want by flashing it as an update zip or any zip file..?.

Hello,
I have a HTC MAGIC 32A and i can't download The offical HTC Magic Sense UI Rom. When I Use serial code it said it is not suitable for my device. So can any one please download the file for me and upload it on megaupload or rapidshare?
I really like Sense UI a lot more than android home.

Yes it is european, the phone is rooted, and the software version is 1.5
Then go for a custom rom and not the RUU.
Have you flashed your boot and radio to the latest version ?
If you like 1.5 .. get CursorSense with SenseUi

I am a bit afraid to update radio and boot. Besides I never actually thought of updatigng them( Im a Newbie). Is it safe? More or less?
Share your phones info, EVERYTHING in the fastboot menu and we'll help you. It's easy to update the radio and hboot as long as you follow instructions.

If you ever plan to use a custom rom you can kiss it goodbye that RUU upgrade has a perfected spl so you will be stuck on Stock roms only.

Okay so I installed custom rom with 2.1 Sense UI, best looking theme I ever seen, just needs a bit optimisation. Thanks for all the help

1. I wanted to root my HTC Magic and I have visited many websites and even watched some videos on how to do it. But still I don't get it. So I thought maybe anyone here can help me with it. I am currently on version 1.5 (Cupcake) and I wanted 2.1 on my phone. So I have been wondering which ROM is the latest and most stable currently?
2. Let's say, I have succeeded in rooting my phone and then I wanted to unroot it back, what do I need? Procedures?

First of all you must insatll new SPL to do nandroid backup of old 1.5 system, then root it and then if you dont like it just do recovery. Here is the gude for rooting your phone wiki.cyanogenmod.com

Hey gents. My dad has had his Magic for a couple of years now and lately it's become quite slow using the official Roger 2.1 build. I offered to update it to whatever the community has created. I've never done this before so I started with Cyanogen mod. I basically followed the directions here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Magic_(32A):_Rooting_(6.35.x_radio) downgraded the radio, rooted the phone and installed recovery. I then installed Cyanogenmod 6.1 which is latest for HTC Magic (wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_version#MagicCM6). Unfortunately Cyanogenmod is very flakey. Everythign is quite slow and trying to access the Maps crashes the phone and so does trying to access the ROM Manager.
Here's the info the phone displays during fastboot:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H

RADIO-3.22.20.17
Should I upgrade the radio back to 6.35? Where can I find a stable 2.2 or 2.3 ROM? Is there anything else you guys can recommend?

i recommend carz android 2.3 rom for 6.35 radio
stable and fast.

Hey guys I bought a used HTC Magic 2-3 years ago and the person which I bought it from had already installed MyHero on it.
Now I want to use it as a work phone as its very durable, but I need google drive (the app) and at the moment it is not possible to install that with my current setup.
So here it goes:

And I want to basically revert this back to the stock htc magic rom and then upgrade it to the latest compatible rom. I haven't been able to connect the phone through htc sync since I upgraded to win7.
I have read this guide but I am not sure if this will work. Can anyone guide me if this is the correct way im going.
