Recently I updated my Nordic HTC Magic with an official update on HTC's site.
Before I had the update I had the HBOOT-1.3300.0009 (SAPP10000) SPL. I loved and had tried many Hero ROMs and even cyanogens mod. But then I restored my Nandroid backup and wiped the phone to install the official update...
After I updated the phone I now had the HBOOT-1.33.0010 (SAPP10000) SPL which is also known as perfect SPL....
Is there anyway to revert back to my old SPL? Or do I have to install one of Amon_Ra's Engineering SPL?
If I have to install one of the Engineering SPL's is there anyway to "restore" when HTC sends out an officially 1.6 android or cant I go back when i first go for it?
Oh and can anyone also post a method to get custom ROMs up again on the 32a with perfect SPL... It seems that all the tutorials I found in the search was for the 32b device...
Bump... I really need to know this...
Bump... I REALLY wish to know how to bypass perfect SPL for 32a and how to make it "normal" later on.....
would be nice if someone could share this information with us since i have the same problem!

Why not just try any spl you want by flashing it as an update zip or any zip file..?.

Hey guys, i have a rooted 32A HTC magic, and am running "KiNgxKxlick AOSP 2.1" which is a 2.1 Rom with SenseUI.
However, i have never updated my radio or added and Engineering SPL, since buying the phone, ie this is completely stock.
my phones details are
SAPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
I wanted to run a newer faster rom, like the new Eris Dump for the HTC magic.
This specifies a new radio 6.35, so do i need to update to a new Engineering SPL, and the latest radio, or is this included?
Should i upgrade to 6.35 Radio and 1.76.2007 SPL using the cursordroid guide?
if other wise, please let me know what i should do.
(btw I couldnt post URL's to show what i was talking about asmy acount doesnt let me post URL's yet)

Follow cursor's guide, you already have the proper setup to flash to the new radio and hboots, since you already have an engineering SPL (1.33.2010 with S-OFF).
Make sure to follow the guide exactly, otherwise you could brick your phone. You will need to know how to use fastboot. I've flashed back and fourth 4 or 5 times now between new and old radio testing roms, its a cakewalk if you follow the guide.

i have done everything to do custom rom but failed
flashrec does'nt work
PSAS does'nt creates gold card for saphire i hve tried so many cards even i have purchased PSAS
is there anyway to flash custom rom
does this means spl is perfected ???

Your stuck,.. this perfected spl is still unrootable. You'll have to wait and pray that the new 2.1 update from Rogers will offer a rootable spl. Rogers has meet some end-user to talk about the Android issues and what we the customers want from them for our android.

Who said there aren't any custom roms for this! Oh there are plenty of roms for this. I suggest you do some research and maybe you'll understand things a bit more, such as you can't FLASH any roms.

Yes they did manage to make custom rom from the Rogers RUU update BUT your mixing things up.
The HBOOT from the Rogers RUU is a perfected spl. If you flashed your phone with that RUU your screwed. This spl is not a "engineering" so it won't allow you to boot in recovery or send fastboot command to manipulate it. This particular spl is not affected by some old bug that could make it rootable. Goldcards also does not work on it. Your now stuck on this spl and will not be able to flash ANY custom rom on it. That's why you need to wait for the next Rogers RUU update for 2.1 and that it will have a engineering spl (or hackable spl) that will allow you to install custom roms. Only engineering spl can allow you to flash a new rom.

Unless i missed the latest news on this spl no... not even the GoldCard method works on this spl.

Hello,
I have a HTC MAGIC 32A and i can't download The offical HTC Magic Sense UI Rom. When I Use serial code it said it is not suitable for my device. So can any one please download the file for me and upload it on megaupload or rapidshare?
I really like Sense UI a lot more than android home.

Yes it is european, the phone is rooted, and the software version is 1.5
Then go for a custom rom and not the RUU.
Have you flashed your boot and radio to the latest version ?
If you like 1.5 .. get CursorSense with SenseUi

Both require new boot (1.76.2007) radio (6.35.xxx.xxx)
I am a bit afraid to update radio and boot. Besides I never actually thought of updatigng them( Im a Newbie). Is it safe? More or less?
Share your phones info, EVERYTHING in the fastboot menu and we'll help you. It's easy to update the radio and hboot as long as you follow instructions.

If you ever plan to use a custom rom you can kiss it goodbye that RUU upgrade has a perfected spl so you will be stuck on Stock roms only.

Okay so I installed custom rom with 2.1 Sense UI, best looking theme I ever seen, just needs a bit optimisation. Thanks for all the help

I have a vodafone 32b which i wanted to root and give another rom. I had a perfected spl and used the method to root it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218. After succesfully flashing sapphire.img i am stuck on a 32a radio and 1.33.2010 spl. Fastboot isn't working for me so i cant use the method to revert to 32b radio and rom. I have a working goldcard so maybe if someone has a sapphire.img with 32b radio i can convert back. I don't know what to do.

its fixed! used the 1.5 bug and together with flashrec i was able to install a new 32b rom with a 32b radio!

The 1.5 bug?
some special build from this website http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_MT3G/Magic_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod. It allows you to install a 1.5 rom with a bug on a perfected magic.
Dude, 1.33.2010 allow to use fastboot.
But now i can flash recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img to my phone right? My radio is already fixed because i installed the 1.5 bug rom. Then i should be able to flash any rom i want?

Well, I managed to do something which I regret profusely now.
When I heard that the HTC Magic was getting an official update I thought that it would have been a fast, optimised Froyo experience. Boy was I wrong.
Now I'm stuck with a phone that can't open the messaging application without closing the homescreen process and the old methods to root my phone no longer work.
And to top it off, I wanted to use CyanogenMod 4 since 1.6 runs the best on my phone, yet I don't know if I can do that anymore since the update also changed the radio and I think the SPL.
So, long story short, how can I get a 1.6 ROM on this phone now?
Also an unimportant question, would Replicant still work on this phone if it has the new radio?
Is there no one who can help with this?
I was just wondering what ROMs are compatible with the new radio and SPL.
They're 2.22.28.25 and 1.33.0013 respectively, I'm pretty sure they are anyway.
