I have a vodafone 32b which i wanted to root and give another rom. I had a perfected spl and used the method to root it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218. After succesfully flashing sapphire.img i am stuck on a 32a radio and 1.33.2010 spl. Fastboot isn't working for me so i cant use the method to revert to 32b radio and rom. I have a working goldcard so maybe if someone has a sapphire.img with 32b radio i can convert back. I don't know what to do.

its fixed! used the 1.5 bug and together with flashrec i was able to install a new 32b rom with a 32b radio!

The 1.5 bug?
some special build from this website http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_MT3G/Magic_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod. It allows you to install a 1.5 rom with a bug on a perfected magic.
Dude, 1.33.2010 allow to use fastboot.
But now i can flash recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img to my phone right? My radio is already fixed because i installed the 1.5 bug rom. Then i should be able to flash any rom i want?

If you flash a 32A radio onto a 32B device, it will work...
You'd then need to flash Amon_RA H recovery.
Issues... None except a much slower phone. Bluetooth works on Sense ROMs though, which I don't even think is an issue anymore.

You mean the 32B radio 2.22.23.02. But QTeknology means 3.22.20.17. Which is a 32A radio.

It's a 32B Radio too, It was on a Official HTC Vodafone Rom downloadable over the German HTC Web page.

Yes, i know what you mean. But i don't think it is a 32B radio because my normal recovery didn't started. After i tried it with a 32A kernel it booted fine.

- Using any 32B SPL and 32B radio 2.22.19.26 or 2.22.23.02 you can boot a 32B ROM on a 32B Magic. We all do this.
- Using 32B Engineering SPL 1.33.2005 (possibly other Engs?) and 32A radio 3.22.20.17 you can boot a 32A ROM on a 32B Magic. QTeknology and mjrgens are doing this.
Has QTek just discovered a way to "fool" 32A ROMs into running on a 32B???

A Lot of Vodafone stuff inside the rom
The Android build is for Vodafone, i think. But the radio is 32A. Btw, don't flash the engineering SPL 1.33.2004 G if you have this radio, it will brick your device.
To be honest this whole thread gives me the heeby geebies, flashing radios is usually where bricks happen and I don't see there is any benefit to anybody changing their radio if what they currently have isn't giving them any problems.
Just my 2 cents .... on the subject of radios if it aint broke then don't try and fix it!
Flashing radio does not worry me, as I don't think it's possible to brick as long as you have original SPL? I've upgraded my Magic to 2.22.23.02 and it made a good difference.
Flashing SPL does give me the heeby geebies. It's pretty clear-cut for US T-Mobile G1s like the one I own, but for my Australian 1.33.0004 Magic I still can't get a straight answer as to what Eng SPL I should flash. 2004G seems to be the right one but I'm not 100% sure.
I see no real advantage on the Magic anyway, I can fastboot recoveries and the Vodafone-branded bootscreen does not bother me enough to risk bricking my phone.
At least with stock SPL I can always recover no matter how badly I stuff up the OS.
ok so over all it is possible to flash a 32a radio to a 32b and use 32a sense roms or is there an spl needed as well?
So I got a replacement MyTouch today, one of the ones with 1.6 on it, so I did the Gold Card thing, no problems, got it rooted and running with Amon Ra's newest recovery and rooted 1.6 rom, but I'd like to flash KingKlick's 2.1, and when I flash it, it just sits at the Vodafone screen. I tried using the no-wipe update he has posted that says "32A users flash this" as well, nothin. Both times I waited at least 20 min, never left the Vodafone screen. Anyone have any ideas why this isn't working? I had King's rom before, and I loved it. Any help would be great.
First of all, mytouch is not a 32A device so that might be the problem. Try 32B version of that rom or other 32B roms. You can also try most G1 roms.
Yes, I know it's a 32B. The rom is a 32B rom. I ran it on my last MyTouch for some time. I only tried the 32A flash after if didn't work the first time, as I after I rooted, it has the vodafone/HTC magic startup screens, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'll try to flash something else today and see if it's just King's or what.
Had a thought, could it be because I need to update my SPL? Is 1.33.2005 (I think that's what I have, the radio is 3.22.20.17 if you need to know that) not good enough?
Did you ever flash the radio? That is a 32A radio. 32B radio is 2.22.19.26I. I am not sure if that SPL works for 32A radios. I know it works for 32B radio.

You probably had to flash your phone with a 32A because you had a perfected SPL. The next step would be to revert your phone back to a 32B. Follow the steps in this thread.

Now a 32A and 32B have different radios, ones starting with a 3 (32a) others with a 2 (32b).
Now whats the latest for both of them? Does it matter if you're running a 32a radio on a 32b?
Also how does the SPL interact with the radio? For instance, I use the gold card and flash 1.33.2010 Engineering SPL onto a mytouch3g and converts it to a 32a device (H in SPL, and 3.xx.xx.xx radio), would I be ok with putting a 32b radio back on or does a 32b radio require the 1.33.2005 SPL?
Hello. Yes, theoricly you can flash any radeio but even you must be careful with the radios you flash, if you flash a 32A radio on a 32B you'll get a much slower phone, vice versa, you'll brick your phone. Use as rule update only IF really necessary for the rom to work and beeing stable to use.
According to your question the last radios for each are:3.22.20.17 (32A edition if you are using stock rom wich requires Hboot 1.33.xxxx) ; 6.35.10.18 (32A edition if you are using Hboot 1.72.xxxx); 2.22.19.26 (32B Edition if you are using Hboot 1.33.xxxx)
Everytime you change radio you'll have to change Hboot version to the according of your motherboard, and the recovery for the following edition.

to answer that also. i flashed the 1.33.2010 spl and then flashed the ion radio (2.22.19.26i) and i seem to be just fine. i didnt even know the 2010 spl was the 32a spl. hmm im glad i didnt brick. and im running super D 1.11
so,1st i want to apologize if the answers im seeking were already posted but ive been searching the forum for some time an i could not find exactly what i needed..

i have an htc my touch 3g (t-mobile europe i guess) it came with froyo 2.2.1 but i wanted to instal cumstom roms so after extensive research ive manage to root it..donwgrade to 1.5 ,upgrade to 1.6 with hboot - 1.33.0013d and radio - 2.22.27.08 (sapphire pvt 32B ship s-on G)
now i kinda figured that i cand flash a 2.2 rom on a 1.6 or at least i think i cant..
I managed to get a few 1.6 roms to work(the most stable is dwangs s&s 1.11 stock rom) a few other worked but not that good..
my problem is: what do i need to get back to (at least)2.2
if posible please tell me what exactly i need to use to make it work..what radio/hboot..
sorry again if i was a true noob on my 1st post )

If you have custom recovery (AmonRa 1.7.0 G or ClockworkMod Recovery), then you just need flash gingeryoshi via it, cause your Info already matches with requirements. Wipe data/factory reset before process...
p.s. Custom ROMs contain only system and boot images. It is safe to change custom ROM. Even if you will flash incompatible custom Rom, your phone will not load, but recovery, hboot and radio will remain and you able to flash any other custom ROM.
In very rare cases devs include radio or recovery image in custom ROM, but it is exception. True devs don't do that.
i have RA 1.2.0G if i remember corectly i could not flash the 1.7.0..so why cant i flash the roms with 1.2.0?
just rememberd i tried to flash some time ago cm 6/fy/gy a couple of times and every time i got bootloop..could be because i have ra1.2.0G instead of 1.7.0G ?
