So I basically have Stock 2.2 with a lot of the unnecessary apps removed. The other day I installed King's 4th Kernel hoping for better battery performance but in the end it's a little worse. I'm not blaming the kernel for my performance issues. But I'm looking for feedback to get better battery life.
Right now I am not using Set CPU. I just flashed the ROM, wiped the dalvik cache, and decided not to wipe the battery stats. I've been using the #4 kernel for two days now.
I work my phone pretty hard every day and have a good idea of when it's gonna die. I don't bother bump charging but rather replace the battery with a spare I have on hand.
Any recommendations to fix my problem?
Try a different kernel?
Get Set CPU? I'm not interested in overclocking but I realize other features are available.
Wipe the battery stats?
One thing I can say for certain is that I've been using this kernel with my current setup for 2 days now and battery performance is worse. Something definitely needs to be tweaked in my engine because I shouldn't have to use 3 batteries in one day.
Again, I want to reiterate that I know there are a lot of factors that affect battery life. I'm basing my opinion off of my past battery life throughout the day. It's probably not the kernel but how I have things setup. I'm just looking for some direction to extend the life a bit.
The biggest thing to do will be setcpu. Underclocking during screen off and using conservative governor will drastically improve battery life.
I haven't ever had good luck with the King kernels on my phone. Adrynaline's Custom kernel has worked awesome for me though. Took it off the charger at 11am yesterday, used it regularily and didn't charge until today at 3pm and still had 32% battery left. I use SetCPU for underclocking the phone when the screen is off and that seems to be the best way to save battery. I also don't have anything syncing throughout the day besides gmail accounts.
Ok, well I guess I will start with Set CPU. Sounds like it's worth the cash. Maybe I'll try a different kernel at the same time.

Setting CPU Max at 555 when screen is off took me from 9-14hours to 25-30hours.
Clearing battle stat seems important
I like interactive mode when it seems to be working right. I don't really know what Interactive mode is except that setcpu will show the CPU jumping to differant frequency instead of ramping up like with conservative.

The kernel comes with the Virtuous ROM and can be downloaded as a separate entity from ROM Manager in his area.

Ok, cool. I'll give it a shot. Is it tweaked to work just with the ROM or is it safe to install in Stock 2.2 as well?
Clambert11- Sounds as if you wrote your post for me. I haven't tried a custom rom or kernel yet but KK was the what I was considering. I do have setcpu running for a couple weeks now with underclocking for screen off, battery under 50%, and battery under 30%. Have noticed a modest improvement, mostly while phone is asleep at night. Not really much difference with day use. I carry a spare battery and charge at every opportunity.
I'll be watching this thread to see how the new kernel works for you. Sounds like it can be installed over the stock 2.2, yes? Does it require a full wipe?

I just installed Virtuous Custom Kernel - Version 2 without any issues. All I did was wipe the dalvik cache. I'm still not a firm believer that wiping the battery stats does anything. Now to setup SetCPU... I will report back in a couple days.
I tried bump charging with wiping battery stats a couple days ago. Didn't see any difference.
I be watching for your post. I'm happy with my rooted stock. This phone has more tricks than a $2000 hooker. The battery life is the big problem for me.
In regards to wiping battery stats, here's what I do and what seems to work good for me.
This is best to do when you have times when you wont need your phone to much.
1. Full charge phone while phone is on
2. Leave USB/power cord plugged in and turn power on phone off
3. Wait for the LED to change from orange to green while phone is off, this means you have a full charge.
4. Power on phone to get to recovery
5. Go to advanced > clear battery stats
6. Reboot phone
7. Pull out charge cable once your phone fully boots
8. Fully kill phone battery without plugging it in to USB or power the phone until it dies completely
9. Turn phone back on with charge plugged in after battery fully dies and phone shuts itself off, charge till 100%
I also keep my screen brightness down really low, this seems to help maintain good battery life too.
Those are good detailed directions. I had been wondering about when to plug and unplug. I also never fully discharged the battery. Li bats don't have memory issues so why fully discharge? Is the claim that this effects or resets something in the OS? If so where does this info come from? I wonder if someone pulled it out of his butt and it has become doctrine. Did you really see a difference? Did you try something else like lower screen brightness or setcpu at the same time?
i've been running bfs #4 on stock rooted 2.2 for about a week now. loaded the kernel through clockwork. it's working good for the most part and i've been keeping it mostly at stock speeds. however, i have noticed an occasional lag here and there (that i didn't noticed with the stock kernel) but no reboots or lock ups. i'm going to disable setcpu to see if that has any impact.

You pose a good question. I myself dont know the source of the battery stat information, and coming from apple products I've been conditioned to not asking questions, but I can claim from experience that wiping the battery stats help the OS more accurately report the battery percentage.
Since I recently reflashed a new rom and kernal, my discharge rates were rather wonky. The first 15% went pretty fast (as they usually do) since I didn't bump charge. Then it remained normal till 50% when it spiked till 20%, then remained normal till 15% where it took forever to diminish.
Wiping the battery stats will help this number be more consistent since (to me) it helps the OS learn about the battery in conjunction to the kernal being used. I'm assuming that this feature exists because we can swap batteries. Ever curious why apple locks their batteries in their devices? If I had to guess it would be to avoid this whole debacle. They only use one type of battery for each device and as such can report battery percentage more accurately. Plus its easier for them to design.
I've gotten sick of bump charging, so I reset my battery stats after charging to full and not bump charging. This should give me a more accurate drop in battery for the first 15%.
This is all information I've gathered through experience. I do not program these devices, so take it for what its worth. If any Li-ion engineers are around here, help!

Just an update. I've been running Virtuous for a few days now. I thought I installed Custom Kernel v2 but the System Settings say v1. I'll have to look into that. Kinda odd.
Anyway, I also am using SetCPU, which I think is responsible for most of the savings I have received. I've got the default scaling set to Conservative. Additionally, I have a Screen Off profile of 245 max / 245 min in Powersave and a Battery < 10% profile of 806 max / 245 min in Conservative.
I'm still playing the kernel / SetCPU game for the optimum settings but I've bought another 1.5 to 2 hours of life without feeling any real performance woes. I'm hard on the phone and use it a lot. That's what we have them for, right?
I had issues with King's Kernel #4. My phone, at times, would get real sluggish without even using SetCPU. I may try some of his older kernels or his next kernel (when it's released) to see how it behaves.
Just wanted to touch base. Thanks for the previous input and guidance.
Thanks for the update! I think my greatest savings so far has been from a screen off profile at about 460 max. I also have a 50% and a 30% profile.

Aren't we supposed to have better battery life especially since the JIT compiler is on 2.2? My slide ever since I rooted it seems to get pretty bad battery life using around like 8 hours using it all day for email and ****. But when I had the espresso sense stock ROM I could easily get 14 hours of battery life on the same usage.
Just wondering maybe some mem suckers or something? I'm not using live wallpapers either and I stay on wifi pretty much at my house all day.

I've been using the 806 kernel (thanks dumfuq) with roman's 1.8 ROM and honestly, if you load up the latest SetCPU (I didn't use it much previously), it does the work for you.
I set up 3 main profiles and a couple others. Basically, I wanted whenever my Battery was < 100% to run at max/min 806/600 conservative(but i change this time to time), then Batter was < 15% m/m 600/400 powersave, but the profile the rules all will be whenever my Screen Off m/m 245/245. Now that can be a pain for letting your phone go while it does stuff because it does run a lot slower then while it's off, but honestly this does the trick completely, I've had freakin sick battery life.

In order, here's how I liked mine (but again, itll vary on your usage and junk..)
Type=Screen Off, min/max=245/245, priority=100, gov=powersave
Type=Charging USB/Full, min/max=806/600, priority=95, gov=ondemand
Type=Charging/Full, min/max=806/600, priority=90, gov=performance
Type=Battery<15%, min/max=400/400, priority=75, gov=powersave
Type=Battery<100%, min/max=806/600, priority=70, gov=conservative
Obviously, I'm still working and adjusting but for now this is how Ive been running and really had some great bat life. I may change the governor at any given point for perf. purposes, but usually this is what Ive had it at for a few days. Only the best one out there, called Setcpu. Dont use any of those other ones, setcpu is in its own league.
I downloaded and set up SetCPU for only the screen off @ 245, and wow that alone has helped battery life immensely.

What does that do and how does it affect battery life?
I am yet another VERY satisfied Setcpu customer. Major improvements on an OC'd rom. The cool thing about Michael Huang is he posts the app free here on XDA. Seek and ye shall find.
I'm thinking about going back to the 806 kernel. When using that on CM6 with SetCPU I got up to 4 days with regular use. Now it's 2/2.5 with the 844. I suppose it's a drawback for wanting to play Final Fantasy 7 smoothly.
You guys need to understand the profile settings to realize what you're doing with them.
Powersave: always runs at the minimum you set.
Performance: always runs at the maximum you set (mainly used for benchmarking).
Ondemand: starts at your min, and clocks up according to how much cpu it needs. For ex. if I have it set at 400/806 ondemand, it stays at 400, goes up to 600 if it needs too, and then goes up to 806 if it needs to.
Conservative: same as ondemand, but tries to stay lower if possible.

In the off chance your battery has been improperly calibrated, this will give you the chance to recalibrate. This goes for all android devices. I have had to do it once so far with my slide. The battery wouldn't last longer then 8 hours. Wiped the stats, recalibrated, and voila.

from what i can tell, battery life is MOSTLY tied to the kernal. Try an undervolted one, i've found they all work pretty well (hydra and KK)
o alright im using kings #2 BFS kernel undervolted and underclocked
I research before I got my DINC so I never used the factory battery from day 1. I have the same size battery but is 1750 power rating... I think Verizon has a newer one which was before I got mine...

Not directly related to the ROM. Check out the Hydra kernels. Also, with regards to battery, you need to do some recalibration so it works better. I got the 1750 battery for the DINC and it was dropping battery very fast no matter which ROM/Kernel combination I used. Finally found a thread that discuss how to get the OS to read the battery levels better. As an example, my battery would run down from 100% to 90% within 10-15 mins! After trying the following, everything works better.

01. Power off phone and change battery to full level (Green light).
02. Unplug the power and plug it back in. It should take another 15-20 mins to go green again (there's a thread discussing this also -- "bump" charge).

04. Reboot phone and use without recharging until the battery drains completed - i.e. phones shuts off. May want to turn it on once it shuts off.

Yeah but how much do you really gain by doing all that? And how often if at all do you have to do it again. I have the 1750 and it seems to depend allot of what kind of signal and which radios are on.

Of course if you had bad or no signal, the phone will use up more battery. Normally when you don't have any signal and you check the battery status, the phone tells you to put it in Airplane mode to conserve battery.
For me, it's worth doing because my battery does not drain as fast for my usage. Since I did this over the past 2 days, I've had the phone one on a single charge with about 6 hours of Awake Time (gaming, Internet, phone calls, texting, emails, some GPS usage) and UP time is 22 hours. And the battery is down to 20%. Definitely an improvement for myself so just try it if you like and see how it works out. Everyone's usage is different so it's hard to quantify.

bump charging before wiping stats makes no difference. bump charge is still necessary regardless. until htc acknowledges its a problem and fixes it on their end, bump charging is a part of our lives if you want a fully charged battery. unless you use an external charger of course.
I charge externally and I still bump charge tho I don't need to power the phone on and off. Also the bump time is much shorter

Nah, Virtuous gets really good battery life, especially with the custom kernel built for it.
Does JuiceDefender even function on CDMA phones? I thought it wasn't working
I would also like to know this! What about SetCPU profiles too? I just want the best possible battery life, speed is not very important to me.

im in the proccess of downloading and setting up virtous ill report back with different kernel set ups. i just want a rom and kernel set up that will last easily the hole day
Bump charge with or without battery stats wipe doesn't seem to make much difference for me. I plug in at home/car/computer and carry a spare battery. Just wish there was a way to turn off 3g and force 2g with Verizon on CDMA phones. That way I could still have data/internet.

2. Are there any underlying things in WINMO that maybe I should turn off before starting android?
3. Are there any underlying things in my android build that I can turn off?
4. My task killer seems to always get full even when I don't start certain apps, is there anything I can do about this?

1. Some roms may cause problems, but all compatible ones shouldn't have influence on battery life. It's just hit & miss, try the one MDJ suggests. (probably mentioned in his thread)
2. There are some tweaks available yes, I personally doubt they work though. I get good standby battery life w/o even having looked at those tweaks. Just search for registry tweaks on this forum.
3. You can always turn off mobile data, sync, 3G (and obviously wifi, bluetooth, and low screen brightness). Install setCPU to underclock your processor (again, there's a lot of informative threads on this already)
4. Uninstall your task killer and never think about it again. They only do evil on Android. Having apps in your RAM memory is now actually a good thing, as opposed to windows. (yet again, a lot on this can be found through search.)
About the max of 80%: your battery isn't calibrated well. Either search for batterystats.bin on this forum and you'll find a guide on how to recalibrate, or reinstall your android build with a 100%, completely charged battery. Check the percentage in WinMo, and then leave it turned off for half an hour to make sure it's reaaally fully charged.

You're far better off with a recent kernel (I'm having great success with MDJ S6.1) setcpu is pretty much redundant now unless all you're interested in is melting your processor with ridiculous overclocks and pointless benchmark scores. ("Oh look I get three more points in quadrant than you but my phone reboots every 15 seconds")
After I performed my battery calibration I get two days moderate use out of my phone with no problems.
what if I were to charge to the full 80% then re-flash wouldn't that make it so the battery is 100%... also if i can only get 80% I would think that a flash at 80 would tell my phone it was 100 when in actuality it was 80. Maybe I'm confused about the whole battery conditioning issue.

You might want to read my post again, I suggested to install setCPU to underclock the CPU, to improve battery life. I don't quite see the point in overclocking either.
Iv always considered battery life a very important factor in my purchasing of a phone and was one of the big reasons i moved from my Desire HD to the Nexus S (amongst many others). However having been on the android scene for a while im used to tinkering with kernels and roms etc and due to the new battery graph in gingerbread im now able to make direct comparisons rom by rom and kernel by kernel to see how they all differ. This is all shown + explained below.
First id like to explain my method;
I install the rom and kernel with the same apps I always use and charge the phone fully until i am about to go to sleep. I then unplug the phone and leave it in the exactly the same place on my desk with exactly the same settings (sync intervals etc) and i kill all apps before i leave it just to make sure the test is fair.
In the morning i then take a screen shot of the battery life over the period of usually 8 hours and will upload this for you to see. I then look at the over-night battery drain as a comparison on how good battery life is on specific roms and kernels.
Justification - Many of you may be thinking who cares about standby battery life? I care about the battery when im using it!?
Well although that's valid there are many reasons i have taken this approach;
1. It is completely fair i.e. no individual differences such as 'im a heavy user' but we all have different definitions of a 'heavy user'. This is eliminated by the fact the phone is not used and thus the same every time (no individual differences)
2. If a phone has severe battery drain during sleep general knowledge should dictate that battery drain should increase when the screen is on, cpu is working and your syncing your facebook wall, thus a direct correlation with sleep battery drain and usage drain should be apparent.
Therefore i have decided over the next few days/weeks etc i will upload on a regular basis a screenshot of the battery drain over night, along with the battery use details and screen on time etc etc. In addition to the rom and kernel info and i hope that over time this proves to be a very useful thread.
I have been doing this over the last few days on a less strict system and there have been some VERY interesting results which i will upload over the next few days.
(Just a final note iv never really done anything like this on xda before so if its a stupid idea then please tell me now so i dont waste my time doing it, however if people are really interested please let me know and il make sure i do my best!!)

SCREENSHOT 1: This was using modacos custom rom r10 and the kernel that comes with it, i had quite a short sleep (about 6 hours) but the curve pretty much shows what the point im trying to make is. The battery life is great!!
SCREENSHOT 2: This is CM7 Nightly build 27# with Netarchy's latest 1.2.1 kernel and although i didnt use the screen once of charge for a few minutes as you can see once the screen was off battery life barely decreased and was over a long period of time.
If anyone wants me to test specific combos please let me know.

However having been on the android scene for a while im used to tinkering with kernels and roms etc and due to the new battery graph in gingerbread im now able to make direct comparisons rom by rom and kernel by kernel to see how they all differ. This is all shown + explained below.
First id like to explain my method;
I install the rom and kernel with the same apps I always use and charge the phone fully until i am about to go to sleep. I then unplug the phone and leave it in the exactly the same place on my desk with exactly the same settings (sync intervals etc) and i kill all apps before i leave it just to make sure the test is fair.
In the morning i then take a screen shot of the battery life over the period of usually 8 hours and will upload this for you to see. I then look at the over-night battery drain as a comparison on how good battery life is on specific roms and kernels.
Justification - Many of you may be thinking who cares about standby battery life? I care about the battery when im using it!?
Well although that's valid there are many reasons i have taken this approach;
1. It is completely fair i.e. no individual differences such as 'im a heavy user' but we all have different definitions of a 'heavy user'. This is eliminated by the fact the phone is not used and thus the same every time (no individual differences)
2. If a phone has severe battery drain during sleep general knowledge should dictate that battery drain should increase when the screen is on, cpu is working and your syncing your facebook wall, thus a direct correlation with sleep battery drain and usage drain should be apparent.
Therefore i have decided over the next few days/weeks etc i will upload on a regular basis a screenshot of the battery drain over night, along with the battery use details and screen on time etc etc. In addition to the rom and kernel info and i hope that over time this proves to be a very useful thread.
I have been doing this over the last few days on a less strict system and there have been some VERY interesting results which i will upload over the next few days.
(Just a final note iv never really done anything like this on xda before so if its a stupid idea then please tell me now so i dont waste my time doing it, however if people are really interested please let me know and il make sure i do my best!!)

SCREENSHOT 1: This was using modacos custom rom r10 and the kernel that comes with it, i had quite a short sleep (about 6 hours) but the curve pretty much shows what the point im trying to make is. The battery life is great!!

I'd be interested in seeing CM7, just whatever nightly build you manage to catch.
I don't think that result will give you precise result.
I found that statistic is wrong sometimes.
It is better to measure using "play video loop".
So, find a movie, set to the same brightness and play in loop?

Unfortunately that will not give you how well the rom does while it is idle.
I'm really looking forward to your results. My only issue with this phone is the battery life is terrible. I ordered an extended battery off Ebay 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive it. Never ordering anything from Hong Kong again!

What were you using before that you consider this phone to have bad battery life? By far this phone has the best battery life of any Android device I've owned. If you want bad battery life, get an Evo. That is horrific battery life.

I am looking forward to the rest of these, however just a quick question. What was your battery use like in that situation with the stock ROM? Just for reference, because I'm thinking I might switch to modaco soon. Thanks!

Iv got a few more screenies but it seems i may have to end this thread prematurely. Its the SNS or 2.3 but idle battery usage for me is pretty much identical no matter what the kernel or rom (il upload a CM7 + Netarchy 1.2.1 shot top op). This was unexpected on my behalf because with my DHD kernels and roms had a big impact on idle battery consumption. I have noticed however that without a full wipe when changing some kernels such as with M r10 idle battery life can increase drastically. I will continue for the next few days and if i dont see any big changes i may move method to a video loop or something of the sort.

I found out something today that may interest may of you. I was messing around with the sleep profiles on SetCpu with netarchys kernel and i found that its better to leave the range from 100-800 than 100-400 or less. This i believe is because when the phone is asleep and carries out a process it will be forced to clock to the maximum of 400mhz and then stay at that speed for 10 seconds, instead of say going up to 800mhz for 1-2 seconds to complete the same process. So a tip to you would be set your profile to 100-800mhz conservative and see what you get!

This kinda enforces the point that SetCPU is useless for the NS unless you really want to overclock...
Any battery saving tactics used buy lowering screen off profiles are counteracted by the system process;( So i think in the context of battery life you are probably better to not use SetCPU

I would definitely move to a video loop or some other 'heavy use' task because when you think about it, not too much can really be changed when almost no power is being used in the first place.
You could also just mention your general feeling for the battery life of each rom, because quite often that is what I go by as my usage varies depending on a range of things (school day or weekend etc) .

Could you please test modaco r10 with Netarchy's latest 1.2.1 kernel ?
I would love to see the difference between modaco's default kernel vs netarchy's kernel.
On CM nightly 13, I just went 11 hours and I'm at 90%. That's 1/2% an hour. Not bad. That is with stock kernel.

I just can't seem to crack the battery life conondrum. I've calibrated (charge to 100%, wipe stats, then full cycle).
If I'm listening to music its consistently I'm sucking ~10% an hour, if idling ~4-5%. Which means I'm getting around same battery life as my old nexus one – mediocre, I end a working day with around 30-40%. If I want to go out after work i have to remind myself to charge during the day...
Right now I'm even running a mild setcpu undervolt (with faux123 kernel) and profile (screenoff max cpu 600mhz) but seeing not much improvement if any.
I am on gingerbread AT&T radio so thats not it either... any tips aside from 'use juice defender' (which I don't want to do as I want always on data instant push etc., I know juice defender basically shuts your data radio off)?
Note this is the same with stock gingerbread as well as the ROM and kernel I'm currently on (redpill, faux123 kernel)
I've done everything you have and i'm on a Bell Atrix....i have been looking into this for about a week or more and i just can't crack it either!!! it's driving me nuts and i have spent sooo many hours googling, searching xda and other sites and have tested MANY different methods and still can't seem to figure it out. For me i know its the phone idle...but what it is i can't tell, i have SystemPanel monitoring as as well as watchdog which i alternate with. Flashed the battery calibration fix and calibrated the meter blah blah blah....driving me nuts and i know its not a faulty battery because before i unlocked and flashed 2.3.4 i could get about 30 hours with heavy to moderate use!!!
For the love of god i wish a team of dev's would look into this!!!!!!!!
Honestly none of the faux kernels worked for me... Try gobstopper, stock kernel with watchdog was the only combo to give me good battery life. Not to mention lock sounds works properly, and its fast. All bell users should use it. Seriously... 19+ hours worth moderate usage.
phone idle is still high but it seems to be a slow drain.

b.) I'm not seeing faux's kernel do any worse than stock kernel, I don't think its the kernel?
c.) yeah I tried system monitor as well, the highest process was opera at 3%.... 3 lousy percent lol

2. Flash a kernel which allows overclocking, install SetCpu, add battery saving profiles (downclock to 500mhz on screen off, downclock to 800 mhz when battery less than 30%, downclock to 800mhz if temperature higher than 50C)
3. Freeze all MotoBlur bloatware (there's a guide in the general section)
4. Disable data and wifi unless you need it
5. Install Watchdog and set it up according to instructions I provided in my calibration thread.

Well, if you keep data or wifi turned on at all times, then there's no way you can have something more than mediocre battery life, sorry.
It's not the Atrix'es fault, its the brutal truth with all modern smartphones.
1 personally run ninja speed freak, i get amazing battery life. simply amazing, days on worth of battery!
it is not a kernel issue, i simply dont know exactcly what hack in particular gives ninja the amazing battery life. but im working hard to determing this so i can share it.

I'm not signed into motorblur either.
I do turn off wifi when out, but bluetooth is normally on.

The people in this thread have listed all known steps to improving battery life.
If you really follow all of these guidelines and have bad battery life, you might want to try a battery replacement.
If you are sure your battery is not the problem, you might also want to try a couple of custom roms. Who knows maybe you will get lucky with one of them.

Is there any way to log off from motoblur once you are in so you can stay offline? Of course any connection that gets cut will increase battery life.
I don't understand all these battery life problems. Its got to be an app you are installing or your battery is buggered!
Admittedly when I first installed 2.3.4 OTA, battery life dropped like a stone, but I drained it flat, and then charged it up again and its been fine ever since.
I'm running on stock 2.3.4 without root, and I have quite a lot going on (IM's/Facebook/Twitter) and I can last well over a day and a half with moderate use, this includes sms and calls.

Battery life is a very subjective issue. One person might be fine with the phone, while the other person will say battery life is terrible with the very same phone.
Besides the obvious drainage problems, it all depends on how you use the phone.
Honestly the best thing that worked for me was turning off "Syncing".
I currently have 3G on, BT on, ETC...
Syncing in the background killed my battery life. Now I usually make it through the day without the need for a top-off...

That's why I have 3 batteries!
I still think its better than nearly every other device I have owned but that nay be because battery is larger. I dont know why they don't design to put in 2400 mah batteries (my treo 650 had one!).

The treo 650 also had a thickness double that of the Atrix .
The batteries in your phone are high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. This kind of battery technology cannot be simply reset and “re-calibrated.” When you follow the steps to recalibrate your battery and delete the batterystats.bin file from your phone, you are getting rid of more than what you think… Stored inside that batterystats.bin file, your phone keeps detailed logs of the capacity of your battery and uses it on how it can be utilized more efficiently. By deleting this file, it basically wipes the phone’s memory on what the battery can really do. This actually does damage to your battery by using up valuable charging cycles, all while giving a fraction of battery life and performance.
Now, you might be saying uh-oh, I’ve already re-calibrated my battery! What do I do?!
Well here’s your answer. Use your phone like normal. Yes, your battery and phone wont perform as good as it can for a while, but after a few days, you will notice that it starts doing better and better. Give it time, its trying to rebuild all those logs that you just deleted.

This is the first time I am reading this sort of opinion, though I have read countless info on the subject.
If you want to make such a strong point, you better have source to back up your opinion (article, studies, other source of proof, etc).
These threads are all USELESS without NUMBERS.
Like another person with common sense already stated in this thread, you need to provide numbers.
GB has this improved tool (over 2.2) where you can see how your battery is wasting its juice. Watch those numbers for a few charges and then POST THEM TO COMPARE.
Saying your battery sucks without giving any numbers is like calling a color ugly.
(just in case someone misses the points, without numbers it's hard to compare, since it mainly becomes an opinion at that point)
P.S.- Please don't post "My battery lasts for over 9000 hours." and think that's enough info. Use your head.
