Help with BuildOS.exe

I'm testing various tools on ROMs I've managed to break apart using various toolsets found on this very site - many thanks to the architects of these, by the way.
I'm at the stage where I have a ROM split into SYS/OEM/XIP and I'm trying to run BuildOS.exe on it - the process stops at "Creating Registry" and shows a dialog box saying "The system could not find the file specified" ...what file am I missing?
Anybody...please...!

I found the answer to this myself....it was because I was missing the "TOOLS" folder.
Kitchen Trojan?!
My virus software just popped this up on me after I tried to do a fresh re-install because I noticed that it seemed like one of the files dissappeared on me... What's going on here?

perhaps your anti-virus software can negatively react to the files 'customRUU'. This is a known fact

Yea. I'm not too good at computers but I always try to learn, so anything anyone would be willing to teach me would be awesome
But I don't see how the virus would call it a trojan. OUt of all things the virus software could identify it as that seems a bit strange to me. I was hoping maybe someone more advanced might be able to check it out or clarify for me?

Please Help Find File!!??

Hey guys, I really need some help here. I've posted this question in the original Kitchen forum , and on the individual ROM forums over at PPCgeeks, but there so crowded now that no ones helped. But I know one of you geniuses can answer this with no problem. So here goes.
I've tried to use PPCgeeks Vogue Kitchen for the past week. I've tried three different, I guess there the ROM selections, from three different people, plus the one that's with the kitchen. I've run the updater every time I start it up, so I know it's not that.
As soon as it loads up, I pick which ROM selection txt file I want to use for my selections. Then I go thru and pick the stuff I want on my ROM. When done, I click on the icon in the toolbar that says "BUILD ROM". It brings up another window that says it's scanning the files and creating a bunch of things. This all works just fine.
When It gets to the end, it pops up a error message and says that it cant find a file. Then it goes back to the Kitchen part. Thats as far as I can get. I have no clue what the file is, or where to get it or make it. The file it says is missing is located in ,
C drive/ Document and Settings/ "my user name"/ Application Data/ hIq INC
It wont let me upload the ROM straight from the Kitchen to the phone either. I guess that the ROM has to be built first huh? But anyway, Someone please help me here. Tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong. I may be leaving out a step, but if so I dont know. PLEASE guys , someone, anyone, help me out here.

Modifying OEM ROM

This is my first shot at doing anything with a Device's ROM so forgive me if I mention something stupid.
Basically what I'm trying to do is add one program to the install process, so when a Device is hard reset it goes back to factory + this one other program that I want to install.
I currently have it as a .cab package and the company I work for has given me an I-Mate K-Jam to learn how to do this, and then adapt it for newer devices. (which I'm sure will be a fun task).
I'm using the guide for creating a new ROM found here: (which is fantastic)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303406/
The only problem is that I have no idea how to tell the package where to put files. The cab I have wants to put files in these directories.
[DestinationDirs]
CopyFiles1=0,"%CE2%"
CopyFiles2=0,"%CE4%"
CopyFiles3=0,"\Temp
If someone could explain this to me, or if there is an easier way to go about doing what I'm doing any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard-reset on wm2003

Hi there,
I'm having difficulty with a Symbol MC5040 running windows mobile 2003. It's hard-reset procedure will actually make everything worse, it's supposed to uninstall and reinstall some programs, setup some configuration, but some parts will fail and it will configure more than it should... I would like to learn how the hard-reset is done, so i can "master" the process, find out why it's doing this and fix it.
Can anyone point me to the right documentation? My google searches are flooded with the wrong results...
Thanks,
Simon
There is Clear storage item in settings.
And what does it do?
I'd like to modify the hard-reset process, how's that going to help?
I really appreciate your reply and I'll look for more information on it, but can you elaborate? Thanks!
Ok I read some, and it seems clearly unclear what it does exactly, compared to the hard-reset. I would think they are the same... but this still doesn't help me.
I know how to do the hard-reset, I'm doing it on a dozen different devices every day, but it helps a bit and also make things worse... something is wrong with it. It needs to be reconfigured.
I've read somewhere the hard-reset will reset everything to factory default and then add the OEM customization... I think this is where I need to look, but I couldn't find much valid info on that...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
You're not going to be able to modify the hard reset/cold boot. That's all configured in the rom. You'd need to re-cook and flash the rom to modify how things boot up. I have a 2003 device, but it didn't have a customization step after the welcome screens. All you could really do is skip customization (if it occurs) by soft resetting after going through all the welcome stuff.

IE Issue on ROM: IE cannot download blank

All,
Made a new 23554 build for my Omnia 910. However, I am finding that when I try to run Internet Explorer (mobile), it always gives me the message:
Internet Explorer cannot download blank.
If I click Cancel it will load my start page and things work normally. But I am not sure why I am getting this message - I don't remember getting it on previous builds.
Anyone seen this before? And know of a fix (either now after the build or before cooking the final ROM)?
Thanks!
UPDATE: Never mind, figured it out. Build didn't have the METADATA folder in it when it was cooked
/Chimp (Tom)
So I can just add this Metadata folder somewhere to fix this problem? Please let me know where to create this new folder. Thanks.
