Epic sms app - Vibrant General

Any chance on porting the epic sms app over?

Is it not the stock Android messaging app?

Its not like what I had on my g1. And it doesn't have the stupid bubbles that the stock sms app has. Not sure if it is stock or not. I'm inclined to think not.

Voice Actions on 2.1?

Is this possible to have on the samsung fascinate, I see that froyo is required for it stock from google. However, I was wondering if it is something that could be ported to 2.1 for now since we dont have froyo. Any insight?
Just download Vlingo from the marketplace, it's free and IMO better then the voice actions on 2.2 from what I experienced with my Droid 2.
You tried the built in Nuance Vsuite?
Oh yeah, this has no development content and belongs in general.

Samsung App Store

So, is there a way to get the samsung app store working on a Tmobile Vibrant? Ive seen a glimpse of it from the camera update menu but never seen an apk posted or anything like that. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I did try searching and couldn't find any relevant info..
Thanks in advance!

It was working on one of the 2.2 roms based off the i9000. I think it was the gothdroid kang or aospish rom from anderdroid. I still have it somewhere I think. Ill check.

Not to sound stupid, but I was never aware that Samsung has its own app store. Are the apps worth it? Any free apps? Thanks in advance.

Samsung has a app store?
How do I get it... ill keep a look on this post
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
yes samsung has there own app store similar to media hub and readers hub. its in /system/app on tmo froyo vibrant roms but only to update native samsung applications. on the i9000 its an actual app store with a few goodies in it, mainly asphalt 5 hd, which is free as are all from what i have seen. eugenes macnut series, which is based off the i9000 froyo roms has the actual app store.

Non root, upgrading.

As I recall from my previous experience... Swype can function way better than this stock atrix one.... I wish to stay stock until the major upgrade... What do I do? What habits or reteaching must I do?

Epic Touch 4G(Samsung Within)

Sprint's version of the Galaxy S2 is going to be called the Epic Touch 4G. Not sure about the name but all I want to know what the specs are going to be. What's your take?

Haven't ever used an iPhone, but I must say the iPhone users are very arrogant. (even my friends/cousins.)
I've used an iphone 3gs for a while I really did hate it but it was an improvement from the instinct and the apps were nice just the ui sucked

The name sounds horrible. The Epic 4G Touch? Wtf. No keyboard but AT&T gets the keyboard version of the SG2.
Did I mention that I hate AT&T with a passion? So many horror stories from back in the day.
Anyways I'm probably going to pick this up anyway. I'm so tired of 500mb of internal space.

I am thinking the epic is going to be one of last great phones with a keyboard! That is why i am typing this on the touch! I should leave all the erorrs it would be amusing to read.

HUH? Really? How you figure "lazy opinion"? I believe I said "one of the last" not "the last" also was more less pointing out that I hate the touch or swype typing. I should of left all the errors but you wouldn't of been able to make sense out of anything I said. Take the post for what it was a joke or a needle at myself for being from the old school and need a keyboard.

i'm so glad this thing won't have a keyboard... i'm annoyed with how thick the epic is at this point. my big concern right now is the whole CM7 thing... will sprint ask that this phones hardward is changed like the epic? it won't help us that sammy gave the CM team the source for the SGS2 if we don't have the same phone..
Why does AT&T get the keyboard variant of the S2 while Sprint (who has a "natural" daddy the Epic) get the keyboard-less version? Many people like the keyboard-less SII because of the thinness factor, but some of us who use our phone to type longer SMS/emails prefer a physical keyboard. In fact, that is what sold me on Epic vs the Evo. I hope Sammy has something in the works for those who want a physical keyboard - and it won't be a marginal upgrade.

Well my thinking is the only ones that will have a keyboard on Sprint is phones like the intercept. Don't get me wrong the intercept is ok for my son who isn't into tech stuff like me.
I started on the iPhone and att. The battery on the iPhone lasted a whole day for me and I never worried about FC on apps and modems. If the iPhone comes to Sprint I'm back to Apple. Otherwise, it's the epic touch.
I chose the epic over the evo because of the specs and screen. The hardware keyboard did not matter to me. If I knew the support with the epic was going to be like this I would have went with the evo! My wife has the evo and cyanogenmod and miui have been amazing!

Predictive text on Thumbs Keyboard saves probably half or more of my keystrokes. It takes some mental training to get to the point where you don't pause to see if your word has come up, but the prediction is pretty good, and the split layout is great for typing in landscape.
only swiftkey X
According to swiftkey x, it has saved me around 33% keystrokes!
