Please...
i remember that even old nokia phones have options to show "cell info" at screen all the time.. It's name of base-station/anthena where you curently connected to your mobile-operator.
Usualy, mobop use names of current region/city
I can't find this option in settings nor any application to install.
I hope someone know "the secret"
This is not same as "field test"...

On reading the HTC User Manual (on their site) for the 6.5 ROM it says on page 204 that under 'Settings' > 'Personal' there should be icons for 'Owner Information' and 'Voice Commander', as well as 'Buttons', 'Input' and 'Phone'.
I only have the 'Buttons', 'Input' and 'Phone' icons, despite a Hard Reset.
Do other users have all 5 icons, or is this lack of 'Owner Information' and 'Voice Commander' icons (and therefore the programs themselves) a general problem?
somthing 6.5 missed out on i think!!
if you diable touchflo (htc sense) in the today settings, and tick owner info, and confirm. then it will appear in home screen, and than you can type your owner information
...or change
HKLM\\ControlPanel\Owner\Hide
1--->0
Thanks to both of you, that's Sorted out my Owner Information.
Is there a similar fix for the missing Voice Commander?
Just as well I didn't listen to HTC Support who said it was faulty and should be returned for repair as I should see both icons/programs in the Personal folder!

If you use BsB Tweaks and enable the option "Windows Settings - Show normal settings in start menu" then the settings icon in the start menu goes back to being the classic settings icon (takes you to "all settings").
Instal BSB Tweaks which has a toggle to turn on the 'real' windows settings in start menu.
I know there's another solution to do this, but i don't know where the folder is located to link it on start menu.
I won't install anything additionally for windows settings
Its not a folder to link, it's a control panel item, and therefore isn't easy to link to like programs are.
DO a google on 'links to control panel items windows mobile'
Are you actually saying that you want the settings icon in the start menu to take you to the same thing you get when you click "all settings" on the settings tab?
If so, a 30 second search of this forum turned up this post...

If that's not what you want then can you please explain better?

That's pretty easy 8)
This is an easy question for some of you guys but I cant solve it,I have installed SPB mobile shell v3.5.5 and need to type in my owner id but can't find where to.I have looked everywhere.Do I have to do a hard reset and use contacts and "Me" then reinstall all my info or is there an easy way
Heres hoping.
Don
Hi Don, I had this exact issue and firstly it is possible, I did it.
Secondly I may not have done it the slickest of methods but at least this gets you there. I've tried to recall two routes depending upon where you are starting from.
a) HTC Sense UI:
If you are still in the original UI (HTC Sense) scroll sideways to the "Setting" tab. Touch the "Menu" softkey (bottom right) then "All Settings". You should then see a selection of icons from which touch "Today". That will get you to the old Today settings. See below for next steps.
b) SPB Mobile shell UI
If you are in this shell instead, hit "Launcher". You should now see an icon labled "Settings" (else swipe sideways to the second page to see it). Hit that takes you to a screen with more icons including one for "Today" with a cogwheel on the top of it. Hit that takes you to the old Today settings. Now see below.
Today Settings
Once here. Hit the "Items" tab. Remove any tick on the "HTC Sense" option (else the originally Today Screen won't appear later) and then tick the "Owner Info" option (and any others you fancy). Click on "OK" should now get you back to the old Today screen with the "Owner Info" today plugin showing. It can then be selected and the necessary info add. You can then go back into the today settings and re-tick the HTC Sense item if you want the original UI back and not the Today screen. Personally I use the SPB shell and the today screen rather than the HTC Sense.
I did this a long time ago so my recall may be a bit fuzzy for example; if the "Owner Info" isn't visible in the list of Items in the Today settings (it may not be) then you'll have to go into a reg editor (if you are comfortable doing such things) and navigate to :
[Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\]
Then ensure that the key "Owner Info" is present (add if necessary) and enable it (disabling "HTC Sense" at the same time as it seems to overide any other selection). If the key is missing (or you don't have a reg editor) and you need help at this level just drop me a line and I'll post a copy of my settings and suggest a few methods of accessing your registry.
Good luck.
Anybody found an easir way?

settings - menu - all settings - personal - owner
Sam,
Thanks but my phone doesn't have "owner" at the end of your sequence. I suspect Don is having the same issue (hence me originally having to go into the reg to get access to it to fix mine as nothing obvious was accessible). FYI this is independent of how I get there (through HTC Sense, SPB Shell etc).

PS I have an unlocked HD2 (none carrier specific) which looks to have originally been packaged for the German market (I'm in the UK and bought it online)
Just to add ti the conversation, my HD2 does not have the Owner when Igo to Personal either.
Ahh course, my mistake.
Hints tips reg tweaks sticky in Q&A section, tip 5 to unhide that option kindly hidden by HTC.
Thanks Mallow1 That did it,thank you all very much.I went to Today ,items and ticked HTC sense that gave me the chance to go to contacts and add the Me details.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584415 here you will find a cab called touchx show owner
The app Touch Tools will also allow you the option to have the owner in Personal.
Good day.
Yesterday i was meddling with an Activity Launcher and found some hidden tools in my S8 like a notification log, a tool to add more automatic rules for "Do not disturb" , a gps satellite viewer and finally a tool to select wich apps can acess the wifi or mobile data. (see attached pic)
What brings me here is that when i deselect a item in that list, it force closes
Has anyone successfully worked with that tool?
Thank you.
Here are some screenshot of the other tools if it got anyone interested.
How did you enter in this setting?
I have 3 sections in the "Phone > Settings > Advanced" that I am trying to disable, so when you touch them nothing happens, they originally opened up a new section, but I uninstalled the application related to these sections, now it gives a popup error message, so I want these sections to no longer respond to touch.
I read online and tried these 2 in the XML with no luck;
android:shouldDisableView="True"
android:clickable="true"
I'm not sure if android:focusable="false" is of any help...
The code tags seems to mash everything together on XDA, so I pasted the code on dpaste.com
I've attached a screen shot showing this "Advanced" section and the 3 sections I am trying to disable so nothing happens when I touch them;
"OnePlus Notifications is disabled"
"User experience program is disabled"
"System stability program is disabled"
res/xml/op_other_settings.xml seems to be related to the "Advanced" section;
http://dpaste.com/3DRVXR4#wrap
res/layout/op_receive_notifications.xml seems to be related to the "OnePlus Notifications" section;
http://dpaste.com/0J0JP7X#wrap
res/layout/op_user_experience.xml seems to be related to the "User experience program"
http://dpaste.com/37WEGCN#wrap
res/layout/op_system_stability.xml seems to be related to the "System stability program"
http://dpaste.com/2TG6E4E#wrap
I've been assuming for now, that in these 3 res/layout xml files I needed to add in something so these sections get disabled?
P.S. This is the last thing I've tried that does nothing; (with android:clickable="true" added in 3 times)
res/layout/op_receive_notifications.xml
http://dpaste.com/1MAHAT9#wrap
P.S. Don't need any replies, the orginal problem I was having was related to WebView, so I was looking at something I was doing as a solution around this, of course no one is going to understand this just by this reply, bottom line, I found a solution to this, so it's all good!
