Do you have 'Owner Information' and 'Voice Commander' icons? - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

On reading the HTC User Manual (on their site) for the 6.5 ROM it says on page 204 that under 'Settings' > 'Personal' there should be icons for 'Owner Information' and 'Voice Commander', as well as 'Buttons', 'Input' and 'Phone'.
I only have the 'Buttons', 'Input' and 'Phone' icons, despite a Hard Reset.
Do other users have all 5 icons, or is this lack of 'Owner Information' and 'Voice Commander' icons (and therefore the programs themselves) a general problem?

somthing 6.5 missed out on i think!!
if you diable touchflo (htc sense) in the today settings, and tick owner info, and confirm. then it will appear in home screen, and than you can type your owner information

...or change
HKLM\\ControlPanel\Owner\Hide
1--->0

Thanks to both of you, that's Sorted out my Owner Information.
Is there a similar fix for the missing Voice Commander?
Just as well I didn't listen to HTC Support who said it was faulty and should be returned for repair as I should see both icons/programs in the Personal folder!

Request: PointUI, PocketCM & S2U2 combined

Just think about it:
if we could combine the home-screen of PointUI with the contact list and sms-functions of PocketCM and the full screen caller ID of S2U2.
That would be the perfect WM5/6 phone: user friendly and with all the options, IMHO better than the cube.
Any genius that knows how to? I'm only good with thinking it up
I already do this.
The Pointui forum explains how to change the lock application, so it can be pointed to S2U2. I don't use it's Caller ID function, but can't see there'd be a problem, I might have a play later, but the wife has nicked my phone.
It also explains how you can alter the default media player link, just change this to point to PocketCM, OK currently you can't change the icon, so PocketCM will still be presented as the musical note icon, but you know what it does.
It all works pretty well.
Ok I couldn't find it yet, I'll look for it.
Hopefully in the future it will be integraded, but for now I love PointUI.
I found some minor issues, but this is only version 1.01, I'm looking forward to the next version..
By the way, I really don't like S2U2, I just like the full screen caller ID
to merge S2U2 with pointUI you gotta do this:
Code:
with a registry editor procede with the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Pointui > Pointui.home > 1.01b
there create a String Value with the following information
Code:
Name
App.Path.LockScreen
Value
\Program Files\S2U2\S2U2.exe
of course assuming that S2U2 is installed on phone memory. if not get the path of S2U2.exe from File Explorer.
Now you can press the lock button from pointUI home and lock ur device with S2U2 and having its full screen dialer.

I got it working, but why can't I change the phone icon to pocketCM? I tried to add App.Path.Phone, but it didn't work

Because they (PointUI devs) haven't made that icon configurable. But otherwise, I do this. I have my lock point to S2U2, use callerID of S2U2 with no issues. I have my music icon point to FFF for contacts. (I had it set to my PocketPlayer for music at first, but I use FFF more often, so I switched it.)
Also, since S2U2 has the "lock on wake up" option, and the "lock on timeout" options, it still autostarts. I still leave iLock2.exe in my start up folder with home.exe. I let S2U2 engage even when Home is running (at first I tried to exclude it, but it makes more sense not to exclude it). So, all 3 progs work nicely together! And on my Kaiser, memory is not an issue!
They are 3 different developers...
These will always be 3 different applications, so we just need to wait for more customization of PointUI for better integration. I have all 3 running great right now. A couple ways (other than mapping the music icon or going into applications) I have found you can access pocket CM currently:
1. A. Down arrow at bottom of home screen. B. Favorites. C. PocketCM. Yes it is three keys, but it isn't bad.
2. I don't use Tasks, so I created a registry string to map tasks to PocketCM. Now all I do is scroll to "Tasks" on the screen and press it and it opens PocketCM. The string name is App.Path.Tasks and the data is \Program Files\PocketCM\PocketCM.exe (assuming you have it installed to the device).
In the meantime, I created a PocketCM theme:

Help, I lost the "settings" shortcut on the startmenu. Is there a way to get it back without having to hard reset the device?

You may want to take a look at this tool, one of the most valuable tools I've installed on my Polaris: 'QuickMenu' of Chinese origin. It replaces the startmenu on the windows logo, while the original windows startmenu is still available under 'Start'.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-quickmenu-v2-7.html
Functions:
- Cascading StartMenu (fully configurable)
- Cascading Settings menu (windows mobile settings)
- TaskManager (easy switch and close functions from the startmenu)
- TaskSwitcher (create alt-tab shortcut to QM-active-next which you can map to a hardbutton)
- Hibernate/Suspend/Reboot from startmenu
- Execute ...
- SIP panel selector
- Bluetooth toggle (connectable, discoverable, off)
- Batterystatus (in percentage)
- Memorystatus (internal or memorycard)
There's no installer, unzip the archive to a 'quickmenu' folder in your program files and run the exe once. If you don't like it, delete the folder. The only issue I had with it on my previous device was that the 'Settings' menu which links to WM's personal, system and connection settings didn't work correctly, possibly because it was mapped to the 'Settings' function, in stead of the dutch 'Instellingen'. The rest of the functions worked fine.
My Polaris has an english system and QM works perfectly. Great little tool.
"You may want to take a look at this tool, one of the most valuable tools I've installed on my Polaris:"
Thanks for this. A top tool.
Indeed a great tool, but can you disable the battery status on the upper right corner ? It is messing with the task manager and i cant close or select which program i want.
I tried disabling it from the settings of the program itself, and the battery status gets removed, but i still cant see the task manager icon.
Go into Settings/Task Manager/Button tag and re-check the "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen"

Bottom Button Customisation

Just wondering how can i customise the bottom 2 buttons.
Currently it has Phone and Camera there.
I would like it to be either:
Camera and Comm.
or
Contacts and Comm.
Also currently im using TF3D2, on TF3D i could display Japanese text in Manila Music Player, however in TF3D2 it just shows all Squares. How can i fix this?
In the program called "Diamond Tweak" you can change those two, I do not mean "Diamond TF3D Config" just so you know.
Another app that'll do the trick is called Softkey Manager. You can find the info here.
got the diamond tweek thing, and did what i want it to do....
now need to find out how to make Manila show Japanese or other language text~!
You can change the language of TF3D in Diamond TF3D Config. Also try Settings > system > national settings and see if there's something about TF3D there.
ive tried switching my TF3D2 to Japanese using a language pack, but it just shows up as all Squares.

Settings, Menu, All Settings.

I'm loving my HD2, and I'm very happy with the HTC Sense UI, but there's a couple of things that are really bugging me.
One of them is just stupid.
I'm a developer myself, but a Windows dev, not really mobile, and there's NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that I would EVER make a menu that only had 1 option in it.
With that in mind, why on earth do I have to go to Settings, Menu, and then All Settings, to get the settings menu???
Okay, I understand it going to the settings tab, but why there's a menu titled 'Menu' that only has the 1 option of 'All Settings' in it I'll never know. It would make much more sense to just have 'All Settings' instead of 'Menu'.
Can anyone in-the-know give some pointers on how this might be changed? A CAB file would obviously be preferable , but I'm happy to look into this a bit myself.
I know there's some über geniuses on these forums (suck suck). Can any of you help out?
yeah it's not very ergonomically sound
The 'original' settings shortcut is hidden, you can show it by modifying:
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\HideSettings
Change it from 1 to 0, soft reset, then delete the settings shortcut in windows\Start Menu\Programs
edit: more info here (and it seems you can't delete the 'new' settings link)

Cheers mate. Bit annoying that we have to hack a step back to get some basic functionality, but better that than nothing.
Thanks
It is indeed a bit strange...
We can say that it is a kind of "protection"... To avoide people playing with your mobile to be directly in the settings ...
That is the only reason I see so far (maybe not a good one)
Well, what settings do you need that are in the original WM settings screen and not in HTC's 'More -> Settings'?
But yeah, the 'More' menu with only one item is pretty ridiculous indeed.
I have a question how to make guick link on main screen to settings (WM settings not manila settings)?
In BSB tweaks, there's the option to have Windows Settings as on/off. I have mine on, which gives me two "gear" icons - one is Settings, the other is Manilla Settings. The Settings icon takes me straight to the All Settings you mention.
Any good for you?

Owner ID

This is an easy question for some of you guys but I cant solve it,I have installed SPB mobile shell v3.5.5 and need to type in my owner id but can't find where to.I have looked everywhere.Do I have to do a hard reset and use contacts and "Me" then reinstall all my info or is there an easy way
Heres hoping.
Don
Hi Don, I had this exact issue and firstly it is possible, I did it.
Secondly I may not have done it the slickest of methods but at least this gets you there. I've tried to recall two routes depending upon where you are starting from.
a) HTC Sense UI:
If you are still in the original UI (HTC Sense) scroll sideways to the "Setting" tab. Touch the "Menu" softkey (bottom right) then "All Settings". You should then see a selection of icons from which touch "Today". That will get you to the old Today settings. See below for next steps.
b) SPB Mobile shell UI
If you are in this shell instead, hit "Launcher". You should now see an icon labled "Settings" (else swipe sideways to the second page to see it). Hit that takes you to a screen with more icons including one for "Today" with a cogwheel on the top of it. Hit that takes you to the old Today settings. Now see below.
Today Settings
Once here. Hit the "Items" tab. Remove any tick on the "HTC Sense" option (else the originally Today Screen won't appear later) and then tick the "Owner Info" option (and any others you fancy). Click on "OK" should now get you back to the old Today screen with the "Owner Info" today plugin showing. It can then be selected and the necessary info add. You can then go back into the today settings and re-tick the HTC Sense item if you want the original UI back and not the Today screen. Personally I use the SPB shell and the today screen rather than the HTC Sense.
I did this a long time ago so my recall may be a bit fuzzy for example; if the "Owner Info" isn't visible in the list of Items in the Today settings (it may not be) then you'll have to go into a reg editor (if you are comfortable doing such things) and navigate to :
[Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\]
Then ensure that the key "Owner Info" is present (add if necessary) and enable it (disabling "HTC Sense" at the same time as it seems to overide any other selection). If the key is missing (or you don't have a reg editor) and you need help at this level just drop me a line and I'll post a copy of my settings and suggest a few methods of accessing your registry.
Good luck.
Anybody found an easir way?
Regards - Mallow1
settings - menu - all settings - personal - owner
Sam,
Thanks but my phone doesn't have "owner" at the end of your sequence. I suspect Don is having the same issue (hence me originally having to go into the reg to get access to it to fix mine as nothing obvious was accessible). FYI this is independent of how I get there (through HTC Sense, SPB Shell etc).
Regards - Mallow1
PS I have an unlocked HD2 (none carrier specific) which looks to have originally been packaged for the German market (I'm in the UK and bought it online)
Just to add ti the conversation, my HD2 does not have the Owner when Igo to Personal either.
Ahh course, my mistake.
Hints tips reg tweaks sticky in Q&A section, tip 5 to unhide that option kindly hidden by HTC.
Thanks Mallow1 That did it,thank you all very much.I went to Today ,items and ticked HTC sense that gave me the chance to go to contacts and add the Me details.

The app Touch Tools will also allow you the option to have the owner in Personal.
