Today I made a thread on how its a hardware issue, well I just flashed the newest leaked firmware and its completely fixed. 7 locked satellites and great in Google maps and mytracks...
I apologize for the negativity bit kinda did it because when I do **** lime this I get proven wrong quick and I wanted to be proven wrong with the GPS. Well, that was fast. GPS works flawlessly. Worrrrrd....
Sorry y'all. Now we got the best phone and just need froyo..
I read your post, funny how shortly after the leak came out, the GPS.didn't really bother me because of the fix, but I'm very happy because it fixed my service issue, my 3G doesn't drop anymore, more bars, etc

Nope, you didn't have to ask.
You definitely held a moral high ground in the other thread about the stolen phone, and it was cool that you held that ground against all the 'sho nuff' internet thugz and tuff guyz, (and the "you'll lose your trailer too" comment truly was magical) - but now you're just trolling this dude trying to get a rise by insinuating that he's 12, in at least 2 different threads.
What's up with that?

First of the US carriers to get the Galaxy S, last to get the update... It feels like T-mobile has just been very slow to respond to this stuff lately. I mean, they got a Curve 8900 5.0 update like a month ago...
Link? Because my cousin's friend said Nokia was buying Google.
Next time you may want to actually reaf the article instead of just the headline. The update for ATT is not a GPS fix.

I call BS. The story I just read on Android Community said nothing about the Fascinate GPS being fixed in this update. It said "this update is only minor bugs that have been with the device since launch." No mention of GPS.
And here is Verizon's announcement. No GPS fix.
[sarcasm]look at that. CDMA variants are getting updates whereas GSM phones are bullet proof from the get go, thank you sammy![/sarcasm]
I was gonna flip out of yet another company gets a update before us even though ours was out first.... argggggg
Even if there's no GPS fix still. How come were getting shafted at tmobile. Fascinate just came out like what 2 weeks ago if that?

If there is no GPS fix, I doubt there will ever be one. These updates are gonna tell us, if they get updated and still have issues, I Dont think sammy knows what's up, if they did they would patch it with this update. If there not done by now, it will never be done..

1.28GHz IS NOT REAL
I know I posted it, and people have been running it. But after looking over the code more last night, I realized that I had been had. I took the word of another developer on the line for 1.28GHz, added it to my kernel, and it magically worked. After looking at it closer, whether intentional or not, he had the multiplier set at 0x1E(30), which is 1.152GHz. So even though it's reporting 1.28GHz, it's really running at 1.152GHz.
I've learned my lesson trusting someone else for what I should have looked into more closely, and I hope you all don't think worse of me for doing that. I apologize for leading people astray with this, but hey, at least I'm man enough to admit it.
Again, I really feel bad for misleading people on this, it's not in my nature to do that, ok maybe some, but not with something like this.
With that all said, I could do one showing maybe 4.71GHz, now that'd be awesome for screenshots. lol
Z
No worries. The cool thing is that my phone was actually mostly stable at 1.15 which was never really possible before. Usually i get freezes and bootloops. On yours the worse i got was an app quitting once in awhile.
no worries dude you did the right thing
So if I get up to 88 miles per hour my phone won't put out the 1.28 gigawatts to make me time travel? That's a shame.

At least I'm getting the response I was hoping for, thank you all for understanding. I'll be re-doing all my kernels this evening. I may even do some capped at 2.6496GHz, that way people can play to see how high they really can go. Brownie points to anyone that figures out why I choose that freq. lol

Not a problem man, it wasn't like you were doing it on purpose. So all is good. We appreciate your work!
Makes sense. I tried it on the Feather ROM and was getting almost exactly the same performance/scores.
Much appreciated for coming clean and letting everyone know. I doubt anyone would hold it against you.
Z,
You are a good person for accepting the blame for somebody else's mistake. Either way your kernels are better than almost all others on the desire ports so I am sticking to them. Happy with the performance and it being stable at 1.152. Made me follow you on twitter.
2 other comments/questions:
1. did u take out the debug script that you had posted about on twitter? I did not see battery loss anyways...
2. I tried your incredible AOSP kernel on ultimate droid 1.0.0 but it turned the touch screen into unresponsive mode. Did dalvik wipe etc. Given that UD is like CM, I would have thought it would need an AOSP kernel but perhaps I was wrong. Could you please take a look at that?
Thanks and keep up the good work.

sorry you fell right into that one
I hadn't heard of your kernels before this thread, but I'm giving the latest a try. I'm one of the lucky few that can run stable at 1.19 GHz, so 1.28 would have been insane.
The latest kernel is running great. The only issue I'm having, I can't connect to wifi file explorer. Anyone have any suggestions?
That's about it for me. But first a point or two.
Why I came here, what I hoped to provide and why I'm done:
I will be the first one to acknowledge that TW have this thing down way better than I do! I am running Nero Beta 3 as I am typing this! It would have taken me forever to come up with a 2.2 mounting fix, FOREVER. Even more, they were kind enough to give me my own repo on their site. They have been great to me and I have learned so much from them.
BUT, I wanted to provide a little variety for people between the Eugene/Master/TW releases. I think I did just that.
Mjollnir: My first try at a rom, nothing more that just a really, really big theme.
sXe: My second try which included backwards compatible framework.
Volholl: My JK2 / JK6 / JL1 Hybrid
Volholl Valkyrie: Pure JL4
Volholl Ragnarok: Only known 2.2.1 port released for Vibrant, with working wifi and gps - even with the signal related soft boot bug, I was the only one brave enough to put it all on the line and release it,
Volholl PepperKake : Pure JL5 with all images, sounds plus, plus ripped from Nexus S dump
How is it so easy to criticize someone who spends countless hours putting something together for you for free? When you have done nothing for the community other than demand more?
As far as I know, everyone respects sombionix, yet even he has had to come on here and defend a stock release because everyone kept complaining that it MAY have included TW init - which it didn't.
So, that is my rant.
I will continue to release Roms, Themes, whatever you decide to call them - they just won't be posted on XDA for a while, or ever..
Sorry to see it came to this man since I think you have provided some really useful stuff. Sad how people feel the need to troll and criticize things needlessly but I will continue to follow you else where.
Woahhh... Wait, what happened.? I got back within the hour from being with family on Christmas.. More people trolling & flaming people? Didn't we just have a town hall meeting?
Yeah but some people just don't appreciate the hard work of you guys. All they do is come here and complain over little insignificant things because they apparently font get enough attention at home. I don't blame heathen at all for dumping this place. Good thing I can still use his stuff on tw forums.

Honestly, the Vibrant section of this site is going to hell with all these pr*cks pissing off those that actually do something for others. These are the worst of the worst, because not only do they not do anything, but they keep others from doing work as well. Do we really have to be such a$$es while offering criticism?

So does anyone know what happened to the Xoom Zone ROM? The thread was closed "at the OP's request"...
I was kind of bummed out when I saw that and that no new thread was started for a new version...
I too would like to know what happened to Xoom Zone. I am currently using the latest release before the thread was closed down. I really liked what they were doing with their ROM. I'm sure it will be back up with something new in due time. I mean, it's too good to drop from the face of the earth right? Unless there was an event in real life that caused the project as a whole to come to a complete halt. Aside from that wild guess, not sure why it closed so suddenly. I was very shocked when I saw this, and I would like to learn more info about it.

I kind of wondered if zone123 got tired of answering the same questions over and over again. Or maybe the Tiamat guys didn't approve of what he was doing. (I would find that highly unlikely though).
I hope he comes back! I just went back to zoom zone tonight because it just feels faster than the new 3.2 tiamat ROM.
I had just given him my first donation ever to an android developer, too!

I wouldn't worry too much especially since he had donations coming in. I think you are right. A lot of questions get repeated so many times it becomes overkill, thus the thread was going nowhere rather quickly.
I saw that the 3.2 SDK was released so Tiamat will do their thing, with Xoom Zone not far behind. For the one's who use this ROM, have faith in it.
Tiamat is my favorite, but Xoom Zone is a great ROM, it's worth a test run. The blue themed everything looks neat. Runs like a pro as well.

Well the good news is that they have CyanogenMod booting on a G3. Bad news is that it's only on the US T-Mobile variant. There's still a ton of work to be done but it's enough to get a little bit excited about.

I know this is about CyanogenMod on the G3, but for those of you that don't know, we had a guy put up an updated thread detailing his conversations with LG regarding the bootloader. They told him that they have no plans to unlock it, so we will have to wait and see if someone can unlock it themselves, probably voiding their warranty.
Hope LG will unlock the bootloader, we need roms man, the phone is lagging so much that i go back to my nexus 4. I cant wait to put cm on g3.
Bad news that it's for T-Mobile? Sounds like good news to me. Thanks for the info, I hardly ever use G+.
