Has anyone noticed a MASSIVE LAG on the galaxy S especially when making SMS and the charger is connected, its like the 1Ghz is running at 1Mhz
set the USB to debug mode, and then the lag will go away
it's trying to sync with your PC, when you leave it on normal USB mode
Nice tip allgamer. Ya my fav canook

I haven't seen anyone else post this issue, but I have 2 vibrant's. One completely stock, the other rooted with ZA lag fix.but when either one is on the charger (or charging via pc/mac) the phone is very slow and choppy. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have seen this issue but only with non oem samsung vibrant chargers/usb cables. I have one that makes my phone completely unusable and another that makes the phone respond on its own.
The charger that I use every night is the one that came in the box.

Same
I have this exact issue on a stock vibrant i got this morning. I was surprised that this was the only place i saw this mentioned; which lead me to register at the forums.
The touchscreen becomes less accurate i think; when flipping through app pages it will often open an app accidentally if the charger is plugged into the wall. havent tried from a computer or car yet.
It not bad enough of an issue for me to return it but it is a bummer. If anyone finds a work around i would be interested.
This happens to me with the stock wall charger too but only when I have it connected to a source converter, more specifically a vehicle outlet power source adapter: Duracell 175 Watt DC to AC Pocket Power Source Inverter.
I didn't try and see if I only connected via USB to that device if it still was the same. But I do know it is with wall charger to the outlet on that particular device.
Now other than that device, I have not experienced this issue or the few times it was plugged into my computer.
But I do know it is annoying when the problem occurs, even though it is easy to disconnect and then use real fast or do what you need to do and then reconnect, it is still an extra task that has to be done.
Hi.. since upgrading to Froyo, my Wildfire charges even in "disk drive" only mode.. I have a feeling that this has negative impact on my battery because i plug in and out the phone frequently (to put some picture, music, application...), so it's charging for half a minute, then i disconnect it.. and i would like to stop that, to stop it charging and just be in disk drive mode like it should..
Any way to do this? Thanks..
It can't be changed.
Even in eclair it would charge when connected to USB.

anyone find a solution? my phone will charge when plugged in but only randomly says its debugging (yes i have it checked). Also, when i unplug my phone itll still say its charging for like the next hour
What rom are you on, sounds like recognition issues. MIUI or cm7 may not recognize your pc, ie charging issues, different drivers.
Also it could be your cable, if you have another give it a shot, also if you haven't tried a different usb port, try that.

@fatchuckyd: not sure what your problem is, but try this out in your setting.
Go to Setting/Application/Development, then check on the first 2 boxes: USB debugging, and USB debugging notify.
Hope this help.
@WhiteBoyAwesome: use the original USB cable that comes with your phone.
I've just got a new Galaxy S5 and I really love it. I'm currently anxious of its charging time. The moment I've booted the phone for the first time it showed around 51-52% battery. I've plugged the USB 2.0 (sad to see a USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0 in box) and started charging through my laptop and at the same time imported contacts. Email is on Sync (15 min), wifi on, its been about 4 hours since the usb cable plugged in and is charging but still at 92%. Is it normal for the first time.
The problem I have is that the Wall outlet came with the phone isn't compatible with what I have at home and will make the adjustments tomorrow for that. So, I didn't tested it directly with its charger plugged.
Yeah mate. Charging seems too slow, while using USB cable plug-in with my laptop..
But with regular charger it's okay..
Laptop charging always takes too much time, that's not unusual.

Hello everyone I have a couple issues here...
Charging
When I use my stock Samsung S5 charging cable, sometimes I will get a slow charge, others a fast charge, and other times the phone will act like I am disconnecting and reconnecting my cord rapidly. On rare occasions the phone will even act like I never plugged it in. This is using multiple power sources to try to charge. Yes, I know it could be the cord, but before you reply, read the next few sentences.
I recently purchased new OEM cords from eBay as well as some OEM Samsung S4 cords (for my wife's phone). I've tried the new OEM cords and the phone did the same thing. When I try to use the S4 cords, along with other microUSB cords, I am experiencing the same problems... sometimes these cords charge the S5 faster than the OEM S5 cords!
The strangest issue I am seeing so far is now when I plug in using a normal USB from a 12V or AC charger I am getting a box that pops up saying "Advanced Power Sharing" and asks me to go to the Samsung market to download it (I'm assuming its an app).
Receiving Calls
I drive a truck for a living, I depend on calls coming in properly. I'm also married, so the importance of a working phone shoots up about a million percent However, she says she calls me and my phone doesn't ring, and doesn't alert me of missed calls. Other people I talk to experience the same thing when they try to call me. I know this is a network polling thing but since it's intermittent I am not sure that the network polling is really the issue here? (FYI I do not know where to look to edit network polling frequency.)
The charging problem soubds like you've got a bunch of crap in the charging port, i would try and clean it out as best you can.

Charging port area is clean as a whistle. I'm thinking I am going to need to replace the port.
