Anyone had a problem loading Google Street View app from Market that came out today? When installing it gives me a "Package files not signed correctly" message.
I'm using a mytouch 1.2 with cyanogen6. Google maps update today loaded fine.
Found this on Cyanogen forum and it worked:
i was having trouble too, but then i used titanium to delete the existing street.apk, restarted my phone, and then tried installing the new street view from the market. it worked fine then.

No, I am not having the wake lock issue.
Fresh comes preloaded with a facebook app, and as the new update came out I went into the market looking for it. I went to download the app, and upon installing it I get an error reading
"Installation Error: Package file was not signed correctly"
I've read that upon getting this error, you are to simply uninstall the old facebook app and reinstall a new one. However, Astro will not allow me to uninstall the application. So, I'm stuck. Any help would be much appreciated!

additional info:
phone - htc evo 4g
android - 2.2
rom - latest fresh
Try uninstalling it threw the actual Phone settings. IE:Settings>Applications>Manage Applications.
That worked for me. I was having the same problem
Has anyone else noticed that the Google Maps app is apparently 'not compatible' with Nook Colors any longer? I rooted on 1.2, received the 1.3 update, successfully followed the instructions elsewhere on these boards to reroot, and now I can't get any updates to Google Maps. It's not showing up in my list of apps in the Market, and when I go to the Android Market on a desktop computer, I see the NC is shown as 'not compatible'. What happened?
I already had Maps installed, so I can continue to use it, but woe betide anyone new who is trying to install Maps.

Yep.. same here with BN1.3 and rooted. A lot of other apps are also deemed not compatible including yelp and kayak.
It could be a Market issue.
Same here, installed CM7 on a new card, google map can't install as of Sept 15, 2011
While it works in my old sd card.
Hello, so il get right to the point
I cant update any of the google apps.
When trying to update Google music app, it gives me the "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again."
now, this problem also accurs with other google apps sutch as maps, calendar etc.
deleting the cache and then trying to update the app doesnt work either.
i also use google Keep alot.i installed the app and it says. "This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services." Ok, fine so i try to update Play services and Behold, the same error occurs, giving me the annoying "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again." Error yet again.
i tried manually downloading the android play store apk. and installing a new version, but then it gives me this error "An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed".
Deleting the cache and disabling the app and THEN trying to install it wont work either.
Im using Nexus 4 with 4.2.1
I haven't rooted it, no roms.
And the best part!I got this phone 2 months ago, then the problem occured, then i gave it back to the provider (thanks to the warranty), i got it back today and the problem still occurs. What they did, was "reinstalled android on the phone".
So please, anyone, im about to drop the phone in the toilet if this problem does not get fixed.
I wont risk on "installing a custom rom" on the phone, i almost bricked my last LG GT540 Optimus.
Hello there I've just got Galaxy S4 GT-I9502 16GB dual SIM. as this model is selling in China so all the Google related apps is locked.
I then rooted the phone by following the instructions provided by this web : https: // support.mobicity.com/entries/22148360-How-to-flash-the-Google-Play-Store-on-the-Dual-SIM-Galaxy-S4-GT-i9502 (sorry i im unable to post link outside directly here as i am a new comer)
After i done it, i went through the google phone setups just as what showing in the video(you can see the video from the web above) however after i enter my google acc number and password, i then received this error message "unfortunately google play has stopped" , but just one moment before i got that error message, i got another message says that i have few apps installed have its update available in google app store(so i assume that the google app store is working, but for some reason it stopped) . I had a look on the internet and tried all the solutions i.e. go to app manager clear all the data, force to stop and start again, it didnt workout. I also tried delete google play store and instal it again, still got the same problem. I installed Gmail from other android app store, and it works no problems on my phone, and google map has no problems to locate and navigate. I tried to download apps from google play web, and it did work as well as it seems still need to lunch the actual app on my phone, so when i trying to download apps from google play web i got the same error message from my phone. could some plz help with it. i'd be so much appreciate.
A Nexus 7 tablet having android 4.4.2, does not have the default Google Play(neither older Android market) app installed. How is that possible?
I tried downloading *.apk file from here and even here But did not work. When I tried executing the apk file, it did install the playstore app it said, but after that when tried to run the app, it just did not start or work as expected.
For other *.apk files for Google store app that i downloaded, it gave errors saying Error saying - "There was a problem parsing the package". It just did not work for many Google store apk's different versions i tried downloading and installing/running?
I tried installing these below apk files for installing the Google playstore:
com.google.android.gms-4.4.48+(1150368-038).apk - Gave error parsing package.
com.android.vending-4.4.22.apk - Did no work after install, hanged and stopped responding
com.android.vending-4.6.16.apk - Installed the app, but after install, did not run as expected
com.android.vending-4.8.22.apk - Installed the app, but after install, did not run as expected
How can one install Google play store on this Nexus 7?
Would there be any correct/compatible *.apk for Google play store available which would work?
As found in some searching online, I tried checking in settings and elsewhere to see if any default apps disabled setting is checked but could not find any such thing?
Are you using a custom rom or stock?
In the first case, you have to flash gapps in recovery, in the second they should ship with the OTA update.
