Package file was not signed correctly errors. - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, so il get right to the point
I cant update any of the google apps.
When trying to update Google music app, it gives me the "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again."
now, this problem also accurs with other google apps sutch as maps, calendar etc.
deleting the cache and then trying to update the app doesnt work either.
i also use google Keep alot.i installed the app and it says. "This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services." Ok, fine so i try to update Play services and Behold, the same error occurs, giving me the annoying "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again." Error yet again.
i tried manually downloading the android play store apk. and installing a new version, but then it gives me this error "An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed".
Deleting the cache and disabling the app and THEN trying to install it wont work either.
Im using Nexus 4 with 4.2.1
I haven't rooted it, no roms.
And the best part!I got this phone 2 months ago, then the problem occured, then i gave it back to the provider (thanks to the warranty), i got it back today and the problem still occurs. What they did, was "reinstalled android on the phone".
So please, anyone, im about to drop the phone in the toilet if this problem does not get fixed.
I wont risk on "installing a custom rom" on the phone, i almost bricked my last LG GT540 Optimus.

Problems with Facebook Update on Fresh

No, I am not having the wake lock issue.
Fresh comes preloaded with a facebook app, and as the new update came out I went into the market looking for it. I went to download the app, and upon installing it I get an error reading
"Installation Error: Package file was not signed correctly"
I've read that upon getting this error, you are to simply uninstall the old facebook app and reinstall a new one. However, Astro will not allow me to uninstall the application. So, I'm stuck. Any help would be much appreciated!
-cryt
additional info:
phone - htc evo 4g
android - 2.2
rom - latest fresh
Try uninstalling it threw the actual Phone settings. IE:Settings>Applications>Manage Applications.
That worked for me. I was having the same problem

Are you sure Play store account is for the NX7 and not another Android device? I am using the same account for NXS and NX7 without any trouble. Just a thought.

I've had this numerous times on my HTC One S but not yet on the Nexus, the last time I was suffering on my HTC I discovered that if I "forgot" my Wifi network and re-registered it sorted it out, it hasn't happened again since then so I can't guarantee it as a fix but worth a try.
Go to settings in the app drawer, scroll down to "Apps" and when the windows load choose the tab that says all. Find Google play store and force stop it, clear the apps cache and data and reboot the device. Then run a Google sync and try the play store again and let me know if you get that error message or a different error message or if it works.

I would try fc Google play, clear data then also in apps fc Google services framework, clear cache and data. Try Google play and you should get an error. Then reboot and try it.

This worked perfectly for me on my GS3, thanks man! My problem was caused by restoring back to an ICS Rom from a JB one. Google Play seemed to think my device was still on JB for some reason and kept throwing me JB updates that were in fact invalid for my ICS device. I did everything else suggested and this was the only fix that worked, no more invalid updates.
If there's anyone that didn't work for, try installing it from the google play webpage on a computer. That's what sorted it out for me.
It's a known issue which is caused by a play store update.
Just keep trying and it will work, but Google will fix this soon.

no, it´s not, i´m still getting this error, tried every possible solution, even fully wiping, and nothing seems to work.
The same problems since 4.3
I am having the same problem invalid package file since I updated my Nexus 4 to JB 4.3.
I had tried every single tip I had found but useless. Some apps update well others dont.
Usualy the small ones are updated and the big one arent. I have being thinking ifthe problem is linked to the download manager. I have poor conexion and no so fast, and I have noticed the download progress bar behaving erratic up and down...
Any help or idea?

Google Play 489 error

After doing all of these:
*delete all account
*cleared playstore, google services, framework cache and data
*disabling and force stop this 3
*full clean restore(after performing this, I can download all my and new apps, but when update comes and try to install it, it gives me 489 error also)
still having this annoying 489 error even I did the steps above specially on updating apps because "sometimes" downloading new app is possible without error and sometimes it does 489 error.
I have 3 gmail accounts on my G2. When I tried downloading on my account 'A' and it gives me 489 error, I switched to my account 'B' and it will download it, and when I tried to switch again on my account 'A' then tried to download new app, it will work. But this only happens rarely because most of the time it gives me 489 error.
I have one solution to download new updates, and that is uninstalling the app and installing it which is really annoying and tiring to do specially when there is 5+ apps that have new versions and like I said, sometimes downloading app is not working it gives me this hilarious 489 error.
Last time, I really want to hammer this phone, but I think my G2 has nothing to do with my problem, it is the play store.
Btw I have:
G2 D80220B KK
Dori Kernel
xposed
Titanium backed up apps(i don't think this is the problem, because my last restore of these apps is since March 2014 and all installs and updates are working fine until last week)
blocked apps by titanium
*fused location
*google search
*location services
*smart screen
*smartshare push
*smartshare.beam
*street view
*tags
*talkback
*voice mate
I hope someone can help me here. Or is it possible to install new google play APK from others phone that don't have this problem? Really need some help here.
Thanks

[Q] Nexus 7 does not have Google Play app installed

A Nexus 7 tablet having android 4.4.2, does not have the default Google Play(neither older Android market) app installed. How is that possible?
I tried downloading *.apk file from here and even here But did not work. When I tried executing the apk file, it did install the playstore app it said, but after that when tried to run the app, it just did not start or work as expected.
For other *.apk files for Google store app that i downloaded, it gave errors saying Error saying - "There was a problem parsing the package". It just did not work for many Google store apk's different versions i tried downloading and installing/running?
I tried installing these below apk files for installing the Google playstore:
com.google.android.gms-4.4.48+(1150368-038).apk - Gave error parsing package.
com.android.vending-4.4.22.apk - Did no work after install, hanged and stopped responding
com.android.vending-4.6.16.apk - Installed the app, but after install, did not run as expected
com.android.vending-4.8.22.apk - Installed the app, but after install, did not run as expected
How can one install Google play store on this Nexus 7?
Would there be any correct/compatible *.apk for Google play store available which would work?
As found in some searching online, I tried checking in settings and elsewhere to see if any default apps disabled setting is checked but could not find any such thing?
Are you using a custom rom or stock?
In the first case, you have to flash gapps in recovery, in the second they should ship with the OTA update.
