I'm sure most people know about corporate discounts but for those that don't, check with your employer and your college (if you went) to see if they have an agreement for corporate discounts. My company gets 10% off and through my college I get 15% off. Even alumni are eligible for the discount. I obviously use the discount from my school. (just got laid off so couldn't use the one from work anyways)
That could save you a lot of money on some plans. However, the discounts only apply to contracted plans. The non-contract plans are not eligible for corporate discounts.

If you sign up for AMWAY global you get 12% discount on t mobile. Its only 50 dollars a year but you need referral which is very easy. If anything I can refer you. I save about $20 a month. I only spend 50 a year. Multiply 20 x 12(months) that's 240 - 50, that's $190 a year I save!! And if you have higher rates like family plans you can save even more!!!

Yes the no contract plans known now as flex pay are on their way out. I recently did an online survey on this. Looks like the same plans will be offered as those on contract with an added feature of being able to set overage limits. If you don't want to pay for extra monthly minutes you can set it up to shut off your service when you reach your max. If you want to be able to go a little over you'll be. Able to set a dollar amount. Of course the only info I have comes from a consumer survey.

I'm thinking on buying The Xoom either the full amount ($799) or getting it via Best Buy financing for 18 months no interest. Just wondering if anybody got the 18 month financing payment what is your monthly payment? Also what did you have to pay up front? Thanks in advanced
I'm neither an account nor a math wiz, but at 18 months no interest for $800, you're looking at payments around $50 a month.

After tax your looking around 850/18 months is gonna be around $50 a month like said above.
Yeah I was just wondering if there were any other fees and stuff, cause if so I would just buy the whole thing up front. If not then monthly would better
I have purchased a few Items at best buy with zero intrest, just make sure you remember to pay it off before promotion expires, there are no other fees.
You don't *have* to pay a set amount each month, you do have to at least pay a minimum. You could pay $100 one month, $25 the next, etc.
If it *isn't* paid off by the end or if you miss a payment completely, there used to be small print that says they could charge you all the interest at that point.
The "no interest" is a little mis-leading, there is a monthly percentage fee for "debt cancellation" which is basically the fee for not charging you interest. It's significantly reduced from actual interest gain, but it still isn't a true 0.
On the whole, if you can afford it upfront, you'd save yourself some money.
I see. Thanks for the info fellas

debt cancellation (account shield) is not mandatory and is always 100% optional.
OP You can pay your payment in store (cash or check, no credit cards) as well as online. Otherwise there is a minimum payment due every month (I wanna say either 10 dollars or 10%). If you have any more questions shoot!
Agree i have never heard of the percentage fee. And i am been using them for years, i just make sure to pay it off way early and never ever be late.

I bought my macbook pro from bestbuy no interest 18 months. I paid the minimum (about $25 a month) for about a year. Then I made several large payments of $200 over the next few months to pay it off. So what I'm saying is u can pay it off at any rate or structure u want just don't miss a payment.
If u don't pay off in 18 months, the APR is somewhere around 25% lol. So pay that sucker off early!!! I think I was done a month or so early. (25% on $1400 isn't very fun).

Yea its extremely ridiculous. That's why they offer 0% interest over 18 months is because the deferred interest is massive. Its really a solid deal, even if you want to just buy it and pay it off a few months later, not wait the whole 18 months.

I've been trying to get a student discount on Sprint's HTC EVO but it's been
out of stock online on Sprint's site for quite a while now. So yesterday I
found that Student rate, a student discount website, is offering a deal
where you can order from their studentrate amazon link and then email
[email protected] with your order # and they will apply a 23% discount
to your account. Seems like a good alternative since EVOs are out of stock
on the Sprint site. What do you think?
Did you call/email them to make sure that's how it works? I didn't think 23% was available from Sprint unless you were from certain states or something
If the discount is anything like employer discounts the 23 percent is on the plan it self and not the hardware. At least that's what my discount is.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
From what I've seen the discount is 23% and yes it's off the monthly plan. You can find some more info HERE
Yep, the 23% discount is off your monthly bill. It's only valid with certain schools because it goes through the faculty discount program at some uni in VA, I think...It works for Boise State (in Idaho), though.

I was looking at my account today, and realizing that between my wife and I we use VERY FEW minutes altogether.
The overwhelming majority, and I am talking about 90-95% of our calls are either off-peak or mobile to mobile.
What I am wondering is what is the best way for me to go about lowering this bill. We have 1500 minutes, plus all the unlimited stuff Sprint offers.
I want to keep the unlimited Data, but am not terribly concerned about anything else.
Ideas? Anything at all would be greatly appreciated aside from calling me names and questioning my humanity
I'm not a Sprint employee (soon to be one), but I have found that the 1500 minute plan is the cheapest plan that includes the mobile to mobile talk (I looked into this a few weeks back for myself) and found that there's not really any other options. There is no plan less than 1500 minutes that includes data and text.

I work for Sprint corporate and I hate to say it, but the $129.99 Shared Everything Data Plan 1500 Minute one is the lowest plan you may have if you have one or more smartphones or one of the 3 Samsung Instinct Series devices on your wireless account with us. I saw that there's a 700 minute family plan for 70 bucks a month....but its just basic phone service... then I saw that getting a "pro data pack" is just 30 dollars more....so I'm gonna try and ***** my way out of my contract...give her my epic to activate with her new account and I can get a e4gt....$70 family plan + 30$ pro data pack + $20 (2 4g phones) and still have all the data and messaging we need for around $120 after taxes.....
Does my plan sound good??? Or is there some hiccup I'm gonna run into??

Yeah, you can get any corporate discount without having to sign a new contract. You should be able to do it through your employer (or where ever you get your discount from) and it will take effect without a new contract.
All else fails...call Sprint and have them work it out.
I've got a Citibank discount of 27% off, but it's only on the main line and my bill is still $178/month on 1500 minute shared. (I have 4 lines total.)
Since I'm not getting any answers in the Nexus forums, and I need an answer quickly, and I figured this community is full of kind people, I need a bit of help.
I have a Nexus S 4G and it hasn't been 30 days, and I wanted to go to best buy and trade it for the Epic 4G Touch.
I want to know if this is actually possible, and if I need to bring it in it's box or just the phone, and if I should use an "I didn't like it" excuse or something.
I'm feeling a bit sketchy about it, considering I got it with an upgrade.
if you got it after sept. 9, the window is only 14 days, not 30, otherwise yeah, you can exchange it and pay any difference owed. Don't know if you need the box and everything but I'd imagine you do

That depends. Sprint recently got a little more hardcore about their $35 restocking fee. I think you can still do one free "customer satisfaction" exchange within the 14 day window (30 day window for you). If they don't charge you the restocking fee, you only have to pay the difference in price between the two phones, which I believe is $50 right now, but Best Buy has different pricing than other stores.
The $36 activation/upgrade fee should have been charged to your account when you got the Nexus. They won't charge you $36 again for a swap.
