Anyone knows a hardware buttons combinations for X10? Like a hard-reset or recovery mode.

I read somewhere else about the hardware button as well but I can't remember where. Sorry!
I was wondering the same. I read somewhere that i was supposed to hold the volume down button when turning on the phone however that doesn't work for me.

I'm guessing that it only loads system apps. I just rebooted using Quick Boot, and when I checked my phone I was in safe mode! Anyone else want to try this? Just use the default reboot option in Quick Boot.

Yah it is so that if you get a bad app you can delete it and you do this by holding the home or menu button when you boot up the phone.

Ah, I must have pressed it in my pocket while rebooting. This is a new feature, I'm guessing.

From what I googled it was on the nexus one too.
Do you you feel that the screen shot key is not convenient?
While pressing the back key, the screen always go back to previous, hard to get the screen I want to capture.

Yeah... happened when I tried to take a shot of the Quadrant benchmark results (graph) page...
I think they should reallocate the key combination

Just install shootme. You dont need a rooted phone with froyo. Have fun

Hold the back key then press the home button. The phone will not go back when you hold the key.
It's still go back while I hold the back key

The behavior seems to depend on the application in use. Some apps interpret the back key-press as 'pressed & released' even if the back key is held down.

Yup that's definitely the case. Doesn't seem to work with all apps.

ya really poor choice of keys but then again all keys do something.. maybe vol up and back or something.
It might be just me, but I think using the volume keys then changing to the back and home buttons a bit of a pain.
Did you know you can use your gamepad? Left and right is up and down and start is select.
Everybody might already know this, but I've never read about it anywhere.

I wish we could have Doom's Touch Recovery on Locked Bootloaders
I new that I could use use Left and Right for navigation, but I did not know Start acted as select.
Thank you

So simple, yet, I didn't know that. Lol. Thanks for the tip..
Thanks for that. I'm using Doom's touch recovery as well, so you can just go up/down using your thumb, but it's useful for people using other kernels ie: fxp(?) is the only one that I found to work with CM9
Something I accidentally found out. Works great. To get into the bootloader you have to hold the power button and volume down button, right? Turns out that it is also possible to get into the Bootloader by rebooting the device and to hold the volume down button when it boots. Not a revolutionary tip, but it makes things just a little more easy ... It reduces the need of a advanced power menu.
Yeh did that in other devices

I have fix the power button twice , and I know that is about to give up on me. don't have warranty and i am out of the sates so sending it to asus is not an option this time.
Is there a way I can wake the tablet by long pressing the volume button ? I do have some coding skills if there is a how to, maybe I can work on this.
found this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464 searching i will give it a try.

Hi, thank you very much for sharing those two apps. However, I can't seem to figure out how to use the free one. I activate it but once my tablet goes off I can't turn it back on with the volume keys. I've searched for a help file or instructions but the app doesn't even have a GUI. I'm unrooted and on stock ROM.

There is no GUI for the free app. just a pop up indicating that's been activated . some times you have to press twice the volume to turn it on.
I am rooted and still in CleanRom 4.1 .
.
Ok. I'll try when I get home. The power button on this tablet is pretty badly designed. :/
