Do you you feel that the screen shot key is not convenient?
While pressing the back key, the screen always go back to previous, hard to get the screen I want to capture.

Yeah... happened when I tried to take a shot of the Quadrant benchmark results (graph) page...
I think they should reallocate the key combination

Just install shootme. You dont need a rooted phone with froyo. Have fun

Hold the back key then press the home button. The phone will not go back when you hold the key.

The behavior seems to depend on the application in use. Some apps interpret the back key-press as 'pressed & released' even if the back key is held down.

Yup that's definitely the case. Doesn't seem to work with all apps.

Taking self shots and/or one handed shots is a pita since you have to touch the screen when taking pictures. Is it possible to hack the power button to act as a camera button when the camera is in use?

i would like to know too
Great idea
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
agreed, good idea, would like to see this in action.
Actually, using the volume would work too because you don't need to use the rocker at all during a photo.

No. The volume rocker zooms in. The power button is on top so you can press it with your index finger like a normal point n shoot.
I also would love to see this, but just a tip for people-- setting a timer on the camera helps for taking images of oneself.
It's a great idea, been talked about often. Think there's a thread in the dev section. Fingers crossed they will make a hack for it.
This would be very useful.
Does anyone know if tasker could be used for this?

I have already install "dialer one" but there is nothing choice.
please help
Click on the middle button to open up all your application list and click and hold the app you want to add. Then drag it to the quick button you want to use. It works the same way you would drag apps to your home screen.

maybe you could link the post (if its so easy to find) rather then putting a very un-friendly/helpful post.

Back only goes back if you touch it without holding your finger on it.

Why say this? He is not asking how, just if anyone else uses it?
A forum administrator will advise the poster if their post is not appropriate and delete it or move it.

Right, hold the back key then press the home button.
The title should say it all. Google searching has found me nothing on this, so I don't know if its ever been brought up.
Seeing as how we have the luxury of having a hardware keyboard, I was wondering if anybody knew how to modify clockworkmod so that we could use those buttons instead of the normal volume up/down, power, and camera buttons to navigate the recovery menu (after so much flashing, my camera button has begun to stick slightly; save my camera button!).
If you open the keyboard and hold your phone in portrait orientation, the most logical combination to me would be:
Left arrow - scroll up
Right arrow - scroll down
Search button - return to previous menu
Home button - select
I would try to do this myself, but looking at the one-click cwm 3 folder, I don't even know which file would need to be torn apart to do this, nor what types of files they are (so what program to use to extract their contents?)...
If anyone with any knowledge wants to provide some guidance, or if anyone is feeling froggy enough to try this themselves, it would be greatly appreciated

This doesn't answer your question per se, but this problem with using the volume keys will soon be somewhat moot. I don't have the link at the moment, but some of the Bonsai Team have been running an add in that gets rid of the secondary confirmation.

Hmmm...that is interesting, but I don't know much I would actually like that...i can get lazy with flashing sometimes, and I've caught myself on more than one occasion having selected the wrong thing...
But thanks for the info.
Bump 10 char...any takers?

It is possible to so that. It would mean someone would have to compile a new recovery and modifying the keymap to use the keyboard along with the keymap that it uses now. It's not hard just a pita.

Yeh I knew those would be the steps, simple, but a tedious affair. If more people vote for this I'm sure someone will take it on. Or give me some guidance lol.
So....
Save your camera buttons!
Vote to have this mod develeoped!
Lol

FWIW, I don't mind the extra confirmation, but the implementation is ridiculously excessive. A simple two-entry menu confirm/cancel would be plenty sufficient.

Or u use a button remapping app which will need root and change you buttons as you like

I think Sense 3.0 + ROMs have an issue where either the power menu doesn't work or you can't use the power button to end the call, and most chefs will opt flexible a working power menu. Never properly used a Sense 3.0 or higher ROM before though so I may well be wrong here, and it may since have been sorted

Here's a button remapping tool.
