I just bought a samsung vibrant and the seller did not include a SD card. Can someone zip up the content of the sd card and send it to me?
I don't think anyone can do that. There is copyrighted material on it.
You're not missing out on anything. There was nothing on it except for Avatar. Everything else is on the internal SD.

I had a similar problem with a Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. It was very strange, I could copy files onto the card, delete files from the card; but, when I removed and re-inserted the card, the deleted files reappeared and the copied files disappeared. Formatting the card only gave an error like “The card is write protected” and the format failed. In my case, I was told the card was corrupt. The card was about a few weeks old when this happened. I could not even send the card back to the shop because I could not remove my personal and sensitive data from the card. In the end, I took the hit and bought a new Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. The new card has been working perfectly for a couple of months now (fingers crossed).
Sorry, I do not have a solution for you; only my story.

English is not my native language, so you explained my problem much exact and detailed...thx.
Shortly after getting my EVO, I got a message saying that the SD card needed to be reformatted. I don't know if there is anything important on the card when you first get it from Sprint, but even if it's just some random music/picture files, I would really like to have them. Can someone zip up the files that come preloaded on the sd card and upload them here? Thanks!
My galaxy tab fail to detect the internal sd and external sd card today. Don't know why.
The case is that:
if I use the application "my files" I have the following message
No SD card is inserted in your phone
in the the menu card and SD memory:
I have
Internal SD card
Total space not available
Space available not available
any possible action on:
Disassemble the SD card
Mount Sd Card
Format SD card
menus are dimmed
External SD card
Total space not available
Space available not available
any possible action on:
Disassemble the SD card
Format SD card
menus are dimmed
phone's internal storage can be shown as usual.
The above problem happened after backup all the apps (about 90 apps) into sd card (I am not sure which one) and then I shut down galaxy tab and put out the external sd card for copying some files. I returned the external sd card to the galaxy tab and switched it on. Then I found that it cannot detect the internal sd card and external sd card.
I had tried to hard reset it and still fail to solve the problem.
Help!
Anyone can help me?
I just got the phone for half day.
Panda2020
Weird thing, I got that same message today on my tab, but it was for a sec and disappeared.
However when i went inside the my files, all content and everything was ok.
Don't know why it gave that message.
Also i got the message for external sd card - not internal. (have a 32 gb one added).
I have exactly the same issue. I just got my today and have being going crazy on internet all day to try and find a solution to it...anybody has any idea on how to fix this...this is driving me crazy...

how to reformat internal sd card ?
Im also facing the same issue. Cant mount both my Internal Sd and External SD.
I had a related problem. My tab originally had no external SD card, but there was a folder in storage called "external_sd". This is where I've been putting my music etc.
Today I went to add and actual external SD card. Upon doing so, the file explorer on the device now shows the new external card as "external_sd", and its icon portrays an SD card rather than merely a folder.
Problem was, my original "external_sd" folder was now nowhere to be found.
However, upon mounting via USB, my PC detects both storage devices - the internal memory containing the "external_sd" folder, and the actual external SD card.
So on a hunch I renamed the "external_sd" folder on my internal memory to "internal_sd", unmounted, and low-and-behold, I can now see my "external_sd" card, and my "internal_sd" folder.
It seems like Samsung mistakenly named a folder "external_sd" and this name collides with the name of an actual external SD. I never questioned the name, I just assumed they included memory that was logically external, but physically internal. Seems instead they just had a dumb name for a folder.
...or something else I don't understand.

Sorry, but another basic question which I've searched for the answer but can't find an answer that makes sense to me.
I have an x8 running on Gingerdx v010. Runs great.
I have just been given a 8gb Micro SD Card, Class 10.
What's the best way to go about swapping the stock sd card with this new one - do i just copy and paste all off the old sd card onto my desktop, and then copy all that back to the new sd card?
Or do I need to partition the card in any special way?
I'm a beginner at this, so please don't get too technical!
I'd like to put some music on the new card, and I reckon i've got a few GB of albums etc to put on it. also, will probably try to put as much as possible on it to make sure there's plenty of available RAM in the internal memory.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
This is a really useful site - glad I found it.

bump... anyone?
Backup copy/move all the files in old sdcard to PC. Insert your new sdcard and boot, enter CWM>advanced option>partition sdcard>select 512mb>then zero swap. reboot. Then copy/move ur files to new sdcard You can also partition using windows You just need partition if you are installing many apps like me
Partitioning is not required, just copy data over from old card to new card.
Hi,
Looking for the best way to do this:
Pre-Marshmallow, I have lots of pics, apps and Misc. stuff on my SD card.
Now that Marshmallow has new options, how can I format the card as internal storage
and then move all the previous back. Can I just copy the cards files to my pc, then reinsert
the card in phone, format for internal storage, and then move all files back????
Any help or direction will be appreciated. Don't really want to lose all the files that
are currently on the SD card.
Ken
Yes that would be what I would do. Just make sure you copy them instead of moving in case something goes wrong during the move. That way you still have files on the card. When done copying make sure files are all on PC then delete from card
