Shortly after getting my EVO, I got a message saying that the SD card needed to be reformatted. I don't know if there is anything important on the card when you first get it from Sprint, but even if it's just some random music/picture files, I would really like to have them. Can someone zip up the files that come preloaded on the sd card and upload them here? Thanks!

I have a memory card 4GB MicroSD card and I have 2 folders in that they weigh 3 GB wanted to delete them and it will not let me, I tried every way possible, I want to hear songs and I can not because I have no place, anyone have an idea how I can delete the these folders?
i'd suggest you copying what you want to keep from the card to your computer, then format the card, and putting the files you want back onto the card.
I recently got a Kingston 16GB class 2, and was transferring everything over
When I got to the huge directories such as my music, pictures, DCIM etc I get a message saying the file/directory is corrupted about 1/2 way through the transfer and its ends
When I look in the folders I get the below weird file names and folder names and sizes around 60 GB per folder!
I tried doing the scandisk, and it just removes the weird files names and the huge gigabite files, but gets rid of the folders I was trying to copy over, and I have to restart the process again, and the same cycle occurs....
Help?
Did you bother to format the microSD card beforehand?
Was doing quick formats, I shall do a full format now
Still getting troubles
btw the error code is
error 0x80070570
Below is an example screenshot
Are you able to transfer these folders in parts? i.e. half the contents at a time?
Just tried doing so, nope, soon as it hits the first folder at, the "breaking point" I guess, BAM the corrupt message =[
Would have only loaded like 500 mb at this point too :/
Sounds like 1 of 2 things:
1) You've formatted it incorrectly, is it FAT32?
2) Its a dodgy/broken card.
Yup FAT32
I think it's broken too, I'm gonna try to get a refund, wish me luck! ( it was an ebay item )
Update :
Seller has agreed to a refund
yeah this is just another case of one of those memory cards which has been digitally programmed to say it's 16gb, but the card itself can only hold a small amount (in your case 512mb it seems)
i had this a few weeks ago with a 16gb micro sd card which was just a 2gb memory card.
buy from a trusted seller
Will do from now on ^_^
I'm glad the refund went smoothly however, already got my refund, just need to send it back
just in case: BEFORE the copying, check the new card for the viruses presence... with one of the online scanners, like panda or Kaspersky. And: turn off autoplay on it
This exactly means u SD FAT table or directory is corrupted
There is only one way to get data back if you want them, SD card reader and linux fcsk, or another software to recover FAT/DIR/FILES.
If you dont need recover, just format SD.

I was trying to put some songs into my sd card from my computer via the usb adapter then i got an error saying that the file has been internally changed or something of that sort. I restarted the computer to try again but this time when i clicked on the drive in my computer it started asking me to reformat so I said no.
Giving up, I returned my sd card to my phone and fired it up. When it started up I got an error saying that my sd card is either blank or contains incorrect file formats; I tried rebooting but this did not help so i reformated it with my x10a .
The problem now is that I lost all the files that where on the sdcard. When I put videos it doesn't show up on mediascape and I suspect it's the same with music. I guess the problem is because I wiped the original files that where compatible with mediascape off.
Does anyone know how I can restore my sdcard with original factory files?
Or can someone zip up their orignal sd files for me to download?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
From my x10a rooted
I guess your card have errors. Is it a 16gb microSD from ebay?
If it is, most of them are not real. When you put data up to a limit, you start having errors on the card.
Well I got the phone from ebay. And it's 16gb.
Right now I can transfer files but my video did not show up on mediascape ( that may be because it was avi (lol wrong format)). I am putting music on right now to see if it shows up on mediascape.
Can you give me the original files on your sd card before you put anything into it ? If it's not too much trouble, of course.
i dont know if this a rom or card specific problem but every now and then files i have on my external sd card will no longer be able to open on my phone. it has happened to photos taken by my phone, downloaded pics and videos. has anyone experienced this before? any tips? i have backed up my card. formatted it and then the card is fine for a while but eventually a file goes bad at random.

Sounds like you've got a bad card.

bummer, is there anyway to confirm?/
If it keeps doing it... With a card reader on the computer, you could do a loop of read write tests with a program that tests if cards are bad. If it keeps doing it, I'd get rid of it and get a better brand name that's more reliable.
Hey all, I'm hoping somebody can help me. I'm currently running a rooted stock S5 I have safestrap installed and towel root.
All of a sudden this morning when I open to my gallery and pressed on a picture, it would not get bigger. I didn't think anything of it so I rebooted my phone. And when it came back up there was nothing on the SD card, all of my pictures and my music has disappeared. I unmount the SD card pulled it out rebooted we mounted SD card and I got an error message saying that the SD card was blank or the files are not supported. Has anyone come across this before?
When I got home from work, I pulled the SD card out put it in a card reader and on my computer again there were no files at all on the card. I put the card back in the phone and tried to reformat it, it would not reformat. I tried with several different SD cards and I'm getting the same error message saying that the card is blank and the file is not supported.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you might wanna try minitool partition wizard on your pc with your micro sd in your card reader and plugged into your pc and when you pull up your sd card im sure youll see your sd card isn't fat32 anymore and is Linux so to fix youll need to right click on the sd and click delete then put back into your phone and format then youll have it working again, but sorry to say your files are now gone on your micro sd
