Since it is available on us cellular which is a cdma network, can we expect it to come to sprint relatively soon?
dunno about sprint but the ACG is getting it. My carrier should have it here soon. The specs seem decent but I am skeptical about the display, ill have to see it in person to properly judge.

I hope we do get the HTC legend/hero 2 for sprint

The Legend isn't much of an upgrade.. Rather would see the Desire or something comparable. 1ghz phone without 4g please.
I just wish sprint would release a phone with stock android. That's all I want. CM6 is keeping me happy at the moment.
I'm very tempted to jump ship when the new G2 comes out on tmobile.

good luck with t-mobile and their ****ty service & reception. i hear sprint may be buying them out anyways.
even if we did get the legend or hero2 im sure it would at least have a 1ghz cpu. and for your guys info all future sprint phones will have 4g and that $10 coolness fee. they want to covert everyone over, hence stopping supporting the hero.
negative on the converting over to 4g.. they have to get it nationwide for that to happen.. Im still 45 miles away from any 4g.. so getting the desire for me would rock.. I would be perfectly happy with that phone.. on 3g speeds. not to mention saving like 240 over 2 years for not having to pay for a service i cant get..lol

not necesarily, this particular AMOLED is not aranged in your normal rgb pattern, its in a pentile matrix: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PenTile_matrix_family

Better this way or worse?
worse, you get pinkish greys and certain line patterns can cause color banding (kinda like old school ntsc)
from the ars article:"Overall, it is hard to see any really good advantages to the PenTile layout, yet there are some big downsides in reducing spatial resolution of two of the color channels."
see page three of the article for some demonstrations.

Okay guys, we had a run with our top of the line phone. Kills me that we're about to be outed by the "EVO 2". Wasn't expecting a predecessor so quickly.
Lastly, I was at a public event here in Las Vegas, Nevada today called Aviation Nation where the US air force does a little bit of showing off. Well anyways, I saw a surprising amount of EVO's there, at least 6. Versus 4 or 5 iPhone 4's.
What can I say? Phones gone particularly mainstream.

Also, get Steve Jobs on the line and have Apple file for bankruptcy.

The Desire Z/G2 is 3.7". It also might be a Sprint version of the Merge coming to VZW. That one has a 3.8" screen. I'm just going by the leaked pic of the Knight/Speedy from a couple weeks back. It was noticeably smaller than the EVO.
Do you think it'll be more like shift or evo?
I hope it'll be evo size with full slide out tilting keyboard like touch pro2. I can deal with a little more thickness. But I don't think I want something I can't fit in my pants pocket.

Of course they will, the inspire and the thunderbolt are the same phones in which both are basically a carbon copy of the evo which been out for 8 months with the exception of a few differences(mainly updated snapdragon and the newer version of sense). Anyway, sprint has too much riding on the evo name than to come out with an evo 2 with half assed specs.

It's got a better processor (MSM8255 45nm vs the EVO's QSD8650 65nm), more internal memory, MUCH better screen (SLCD), and Sense 2.0.
It's a better device, no question.
It's a better phone to be sure, but not a huge upgrade from the EVO. Though it's always nice to have choice, I'm sure some AT & T users would prefer another Sense phone.

It's internal memory is four times the size of the Evos, I'm sure that makes the new sense much easier to fit on there.
Attached below is the internal Sprint document of the recent improvements of the PRL.
Mainly for everyone who doesn't want to read and see the new coverage it turns on 3G Roaming in the following states:
- FL
- MI
- OH
- WV
- WI
- NC
"- PRLs expand 3G/Mobile Broadband roaming coverage in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
- PRLs also add Strategic Alliance Roaming (SRA) to portions of North Carolina. Customers will have a Sprint like experience for voice and 3G services, meaning the roaming light will be off and billed as on-network."
I'll also be writing an article describing in details exactly what is going on.

I knew u couldn't leave us this early lol =). I been bashing the Evo 3D too as I'm not impressed with 3D & just simply being tired of all these UI's that bloats the phone down & makes getting updates seem impossible. I was either gonna keep my Epic or get the Nexus S, but the one reason I may get the new Evo is for Netflix! Also, HTC really surprised me too with the dual core processor, I really thought they were gonna throw the 2nd gen Snapdragon in it & call it a day. Now my only worry is will HTC lock down the bootloader, as they been hinting around that they're gonna start doing it going forward.

Yup, EVO 3D is the first with the 8660 processor. It will have NetFlix support. And alot of people misunderstand 3D. The phone runs in 2D, but certain applications have 3D support. Sooner or later everything will supoport 3D, but not right awhile.
The EVO 3D runs soooo smooth. I have a video of it running and it is a amazing. The new HTC Sense is awesome. I LOVE HTC Sense, I have always been an HTC fan, but the Samsung Epic impressed me too much to pass up. I had the HTC Vouge, and I made the first M2D custom rom for it, and I was the first to perfect it. The HTC Hero was my next and the Sense on that was incredible. I now see that the EVO 3D's Sense has surpassed all my expectations. I work with all the Sprint phones so I get to use everything, and by far the EVO 3D is greater then all. The LG Thrill and the Moto Atrix has nothing on it.
Trust me, the 3D is not a gimmick. This is legit and awesome! I will be getting it the day it comes out for my personal phone. HTC Sense, may be bloat to some, but it is by far the best UI out and even better then Launcher Pro IMO. I know I'll get hate mail for that, but Sense is the best UI out for Android currently.

Verizon's is the roaming coverage we get, it's the only carrier we support roaming for. Idk who the exact company who owes the towers...but I can find out.
How will this help us epic users on may 8th?
The answer is still: We will have to wait and see how the source code from the Nexus is useful, which depends on which hardware elements it shares with our Epics.

I don't see why you need to be insulting people who want to get a Nexus S 4G. It seems like a good phone for someone who wants to have the latest android releases immediately available to them. My wife is probably getting the Nexus S 4G as an upgrade from her HTC Hero. The main reason is that she loves CM7 on her Hero and I can't guarantee her CM7 (or future CM releases) on any other phone for sprint. You calling her stupid or in your words "nobody smart" is pretty ridiculous on multiple levels, but mostly because her reasons for getting the Nexus are sound.

When I get a new phone....hopefully...soon, I'm not real sure what it will be. The Nexus just feels AWESOME in your hand but I'm used to the slide out keyboard. The GSII sounds awesome as well but we saw how the support was on the Samsung side plus TW makes development SO much more difficult.
The Nexus S 4G isn't really a step forward like the GSII or the EVO 3D will be. It would also be hard to leave the SAMOLED screen for Super LCD/TFT. Decisions...Decisions...
Been using a 3 years old Palm Pre and have been amazed at how it just works. The specs of the HP Pre 3 look to be pretty solid. I love how emails works correctly on the Pre. I hate the unreliability of email polling on Android in general.

I think he meant the Evo 3D. Hes torn between choosing the SAMOLED Nexus S or the SLCD Evo 3D (which in reality is a qHD screen).
Ok, so I switched to Sprint from Verizon for the Nexus S 4G. I know people with Evo's and they have never complained about signal issues in my area. So I get my NS and immediately I have signal issues. Can't make phone calls or send text and forget about surfing the internet. It was so bad that the battery would drain in 5-6 hours because I couldn't get a signal. I am still within my 30 days so I am considering switching to the EVO 3D or even going back to Verizon. I have tried updating to all the newest PRL's and none of them made any difference. That is until I switched to the hybrid Verizon PRL 00001. I now get great signal, can connect to 3G wherever and have had excellent battery life. My fear is that if I keep the phone I will no doubt go over the 300mb supposedlt unlimited amount of data roaming. How long can I do this before Sprint finds out? Should I even try exchanging the phone, or just switch the to 3VO? I love the NS4G, but obviously it is no good to me if I can't use it at all and when I can use it I risk being kicked out of contract. I've read threads on Sprint doing it, but how often does it happen?

Keep your nexus or go to another carrier. You don't want the 3d

Why doesn't he want the 3d?
Personally, I decided to hold onto the phone, and patiently wait for a fix. They are aware of the problem. The phone's just too darn good to switch to a different one.
You're on your own with the prl hack. I just got kicked off a different carrier for roaming too much, and I wasn't even using a custom prl.

Yea, let me re-phrase that. I wouldnt trade my Nexus for a 3D. If there isnt a fix for the radio I'd rather have the OG Evo than the 3D.

That makes no sense... How did you come up with this conclusion on a phone you probably have never even held?

Well, my experience with HTC devices is ****. Thats what I base that conclusion on. I did say that I wouldnt trade MY NS4G for a 3D. I think the 3D is gonna be a P.O.S. and most of the bugs with the OG Evo have been worked out.
I just sold my Thunderbolt because it was the biggest pile of **** phone Ive ever owned. I expect more of the same from the 3D. Sorry if this offends you...

No, actually you told the OP that HE doesn't want the 3D.
The 3D is a pretty awesome phone. Major upgrade over the Evo 4G. It's worth taking a look at. No major downsides to it, really. The 3D is gimmicky and destroys battery life, but it's something you can leave off all the time and never think about.
While I appreciates "everyone's" opinions I was more looking for answers on sprint dropping people for data roaming. I've used 200mb in a week and that is not downloading anything

No one can really answer your question. If you're roaming basically all the time, you will probably get a warning at some point. If your Sprint service is that bad, it's probably for the best anyway - gets you out of a contract and lets you move to another carrier/.

This ^^ is actually what I said. And whats the point of a 3D phone if you have 3D off all the time? I would really rather have the OG Evo. Or the Photon, which will be a way better phone than the 3D.
I actually know someone that has had the 3D since Monday and also has a NS4G, and he 100% confirms that the NS4G is a better phone. He is a member here but I wont throw him under the bus. Hopefully he will see this thread and share with you guys some of the things he has shared with me. I did ask him last night via Gtalk if his opinion of the 3D had changed since he initially told me he didnt like it. His exact words were, "no, I just cant make the jump".
In what way could the Evo 4G be considered a superior device to the Evo 3D? Dual-core CPU, a real GPU, twice the RAM, more onboard storage, higher resolution display.
Never said it was superior.

I suppose I was assuming that you would consider the phone you prefer to be the superior phone.
No. I usually would but in this case I'm going with the one that will piss me off the least.

What about the Evo 3D would piss you off? What about it is inferior to the Evo 4G besides the fact that you can't put a custom ROM on it yet?
ehhh i kind of agree, not that its inferior or the evo is superior, but that its just seems gimmicky and well for lack of a better word.... useless. the whole 3D is a lot of smoke and mirrors. i would rather know theres solid hardware inside doing a solid job....like say reception.
some would say filet mignon is a superior cut, i on the other hand would prefer a nice ribeye any day. now im stavin. hey earl...........
