[Q] Freezes on "creating a new Data store" on android boot - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey all.
I get mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.7 Kernel: mattc 2.6.32.9 #4 версия RMNET to boot on my TD2,
It freezes on "Creating a New Data Store"
Can anyone give me a hand?
sdcard 4 gb in fat32
thx

Could do with sticking your Phone details/ROM/Radio in your sig, or at least posting it with the question.
Also, many of the build take a while to boot for the first time while they create the image, how long did it freeze for?
Lastly, is the SDCard freshly formatted? that helps quite a few issues.

My radio 2.12
card on fat32 or fat version
build booting 20 minutes...
SDcard freshly formatted

I'm having the same problem. Using ChuckyDriod with 2.10.50.26.

Open up the read me text file. It'll tell you to replace a line in the startup text. You should be good to go from there.

Is there ONE sd build that works with MAGLDR?

I been trying to just load android one time with MAGLDR 1.12,
I've tried all the recommendations, and I can't get one to boot. The Desire Z v.2.1 and 2.2.
SuperRAM with and wtihout letama's initgz
Nexus HD2 with and without the modification in the "how to boot android on sd..." thread
I just want one android build that I can boot, I don't understand. It either freezes @ startup of lockscreen, or just green HTC forever, or stuck @ gogogo or something.
does anyone have a version that works and can they just zip up what they have and upload it (prefer an aosp or CM build, superram would be sweet) so I can just extract to root and boot up with the same configuration or something?
willing to try anything, I've got WP7 working perfect and 10 free gigs on the SD card on fat32 (the other 5 go to WP7 partition).
any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Slab corrupted. Single bit error. Run memory test tool

SD Android stopped working on my HD2
It doesn`t boot.
I tried different SD Androids. None of them works except RAM versions, for example, SuperRam works ok.
I recieve errors
"Slab corruption: size-256 start=..."
"Slab corruption: size-256 start=... len=..."
"Single bit error detected. Probably bad ram. Run a memory test tool"
If there is no cmd output during the start, it shows logo or video, then reboots.
Tried 1.66 + HSPL 2.08 + MAGLDR
Same results
I tried differend SD cards, formatted it, doesnt help.
My configuration is 1.66 + HSPL 2.08
Please help me out! Cant find any help for couple of month.
Still need help. Any advice?
All I can suggest is downloading the build again just in case one or more of the files is corrupted. Keep your existing data.img though.
If that doesn't work, I'd reflash the WinMo ROM and Radio and then trying a clean install of the SD build.

Since september I`ve tryed different builds from this site.
MDJ 4.6,
Core_Droid_EVO_V0.6_SuperSonic
FroyoStone_Sens_v2.7
DL.DesireZ.v2.1.SD
mattc Leo + Froyo w Sense
mccm_v1.5
Mdeejay_Froyo_Sens_v.2.3_Clean
HyperDroidV1.6
Reflashed WinMo (1.66, 3.14), Radio (2.12, 2.15), formatted SD card(FAT32 32kb sector), tryed different SD cards(2gb, 2gb, 16gb) several times.
RAM builds are working.
SD builds arnt working.
How can I take a look at console output of android boot?
There is no text output on latest builds, only splash screen or short movie.
Still need help. Any advice?
In startup.txt
changed
set cmdline "rel_path=Android"
to
set cmdline "rel_path=Android loop_partition=mmcblk0"
Works.
Solved.

[HELP] Cannot get SD Android running on my HD2

HD2 T9193 Australia
512Kb Flash Memory
SPL-2.08.HSPL CotullaHSPL
ROM Energy Leo 29007 Sense 2.5 Jan 24
Radio 2.15.50.14
Over last few days, have download several SD builds of Android.
I Copy the android folder to root of SD card
I start the phone in Windows Mobile
I run CLRCAD
I run HARET
I get the grey window about starting/booting (cant remember exact, head spinning)
then get black screen with small writing
then get HTC splash screen and thats it.
each build I have tried, have left at boot screen from 60 to 90 minutes.
Now, 6 months ago with earlier version of Energy ROM, and different radio, I could load earlier version of SD Android.
Today I had a friend around, with an older radio and the same earlier version of energy rom that I used to have, and still no go on his.
What is happening (or not).
Do I need to have an EXT2/2/4 partition on my SD Card?
Something more simple??
Ideally, I wanted to try a Desire HD Sense ROM.
Have tried
CopesHD2GingCyan7Release1
Core_Droid_HD_V0.4_Release_Version
mattcleofroyo1.8
MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.6_MDJ_S78.0
NexusHD2-FRG83D_V1.8_(Froyo 2.2.1)

Have you tried putting a blank data.img file on the sd card before the boot?
If not try that, they are usually available from the first post in the builds thread.
A few I tried wouldn't boot the first time unless I put that file in there.
I'm guessing it won't help, because some (if not all) of those builds can create a blank one for you, but it won't hurt to try.
This is the one from MDJ's 4.6 build you have tried. The link is from his thread. Extract the file using 7zip and stick it in the android folder.

There's no need for partitioning or any kind of fancy stuff for running a simple WinMo6.5/Android dualboot. I suppose formatting your SD card (do it in WinMo, seems to be more effective) should solve your problems.
@MattOG: The data.img helps shortening the first boot time, I've never heard it actually fixes problems?

Why
do
you
write

You do have enough free space on your card for it to create the data.img right??

Hope so, 8gig card with just the android folder
ok thats not it then........
The only thing I can think to suggest is to try a different WM ROM... see if you can find the energy rom you used before from the energy archives....
It's my thought process. Did I offend your eyes?

[Q] Few questions about android, spl's and other stuff

Hi there, i'm newbi in this pocketpc stuff so please don't kill me, I've tried search engine but i didn't get the answer.
My Specs:
I have HTC HD 2 T8585
ROM: stock HTC 3.14.479.2 (04666) WWE
Radio: 2.15.50.14
Operation system: 5.2.21913 (does it mean that i don't have WM 6.5?)
Manila 2.5.20181527.0
2GB SD CARD (that was packed with phone)
And I want to put android in SD edition('coz I want to play Alchemy game )
I've tried:
This one
and this one
But none of them worked (it stops @ htc logo on black background)
What do I have to do? Or what I'm doing wrong?
try fresh formatting your card or try another sd card
The initial Android boot does take quite a bit of time.
I have never tried those ones, but * THIS * works for me.
First build you linked to states that it will not automatically create a data.img, you have to put one into the android folder and the darkstone build states that you cannot use an existing data.img so I would suggest starting again from scratch (aborting first boot will leave you with a corrupt data.img) and try again.
As fred mentioned the first boot can take quite a while..........
Ok i've tried installing the darkstone one @ clear SD and it works!!!
Thank you all!

[Q] Loading SD ROM via MAGDLR---Stuck at Logo Splash

Hello,
I installed a NAND Android (NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.6 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3.4) which I’m quite happy with but would like to try out some SD card ROMs.
Now I tried to start SD Android Builds (e.g.JaguarMIUI-V21 to run via MAGDLR v1.13 and MccM MixTheme V1.3 HTC) but no matter what I do it’s stuck at the Boot splash. I even notice that the data.img gets built. But no Android gets loaded. Just logo splash. I reformatted my SD card. Same result.
What are the considerations: Does only the Kernel of the SD Card ROM matter? If so which one is recommended? Does the resident NAND ROM matter? The version of MAGDLR? SD card format/partitioning?
I’ve seen others encounter this but it’s been hard finding a definitive conclusion. Most point to using the right Kernel for the SD ROM.
I have followed the instructions to copy rootfs + startup.txt to ROM folder as well as to ensure that the startup.txt shows the appropriate path (i.e. rel_path=Android).
Any advise would be appreciated.
Hi, just take the sd build as it is. Everything will be ready to go, kernal etc. Nand will not make any difference as you are rebooting from the card files.
Check the location of your files, you can rename main folder but change rel_path in the startup.txt
Otherwise, also in startup.txt, check the data_size, 512mb file could take 10mins or more to create

Thanks gazzacbr. Note I didn't have this issue when I was on WM 6.5 and loaded SD ROMs via HaRET.exe. Now I'm on NAND Android and attempting to build and load same ROM from MAGDLR using Dev's instruction. I notice some report similar issue in individual ROM threads but I've not come across consistent root cause and resolution documented. Perhaps I'll try a newer SD ROM and see if experience is different from the previous SD ROMs I've attempted.
I am able to now get yugoports miuiv4.1 to boot via MAGDLR. Still not sure why I couldn't get the other MIUI SD ROMs to load. I have some old data.img files from those roms from my wm6.5 days. I'll extract data that I need by leveraging ext2explore app. gazzacbr, I saw you mention this app on an unrelated thread and so I thank you.
