I am trying to upgrade my PPC-6700 from WM5 (Stock Sprint ROM) to WM6.5 (Vanilla ready for bootloader v1.00). Upon executing ROMUpgradeUt.exe it detects the previous ROM version from the device and the new ROM version, and exits with an ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR.
After searching around I came across MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, which after editing RUU.conf and adding the "[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1", upon executing does not detect the previous ROM version only the new one. After clicking Next it instantly goes to a successful screen, the bootloader shows upgrade successful but absolutely nothing has happened to the device. Rebooting it brings me back to WM5 -- I didn't even see a percentage bar.
I am using Windows XP with ActiveSync 4.5 on a brand new installation just to bypass any weird Windows Vista/7 RUU issues. I am at a total loss on this Country ID error. I have tried several ROMs.
Any ideas?

Just updated my nike to 6.5 using the latest build from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500021
Had a few problems with the touch screen not responding and buttons not working so decided to downgrade to build 23001.
Problem is whenever I run customRUU, the phone changes into SPL mode (rainbow screen) and the software throws an ERROR [260] : CONNECTION.
Anyone got any advice? My phone is basically unusable in its present state
Cheers,
Steve
I've now managed to get it to the initial stage of the upgrade but it hangs at 0% and after a minute or so throws an ERROR[262] : UPDATE ERROR
Managed to finally get the start menu to open by first running media player. I was then able to run sspl from total commander using the 'open' command from the context menu. Single clicks in file explorer had stopped working altogether.
Once sspl was running I re-started customRUU and the install worked.
To anyone else thinking about using the latest build of this rom on their nike. Don't bother! 23001 appears to be much more stable.
Hello. I've been trying to tinker with this old phone and see what kind of custom ROMs i could load onto it and ran across this forum. In the blitz of information I came across a file called Titanunlocker that was supposed to allow me to install the custom ROMs I wanted.
I ran the unlocker and it quickly threw some info on the phone, then my phone popped up with 3 colored bars and now it says "TITA100 SPL-1.20.Olipro" and nothing more on it, other than Serial or USB at the bottom when I connect it.
Now I am unable to load any firmware be it custom or sprint official, and I am not able to get the phone to sync with active sync (or Windows Mobile Device Center since I'm using Windows 7).
Is there any hope for this old phone now, or am I doomed?

Your good. Your stuck in bootloader because your radio or OS does not match bootloader. Flash a 3.xx radio for the titan and then flash a 6.1 ROM.
To flash, plug phone in to computer and when you see the phone say serial, you should be able to flash.
Strike that, been awhiek since I've fused with the titan. your unlocker 1.20 is for non gps radio and wm 6.0. My sugestion is locate bootloader 2.40 and flash that. You probably already have gps radio and WM 6.1, so if you flash 2.40 you will be good.
I get so far with running Hard SPL V7 but it ends up with the 3 colour bands on my phone (plus white) while running RUUWrapper.exe from a pc.
I then get the error
"ERROR [[260]] : CONNECTION
This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again. "
I've followed the advice here and tried again but nothing seems to do any good. The phone disconnects from Active Sync everytime.
Is there something else I can try?
I've continued with this but still get the connection problem no matter what I do. The advice for the 260 error seems more in hope than expectation. Surely just doing something that doesn't work again and again is a definition of madness??
Success.. I don't know exactly how I managed to do it but eventually I installed a Windows 6.5 ROM by MrDSL which is a major improvement on the old Orange installation...
Hi, I need some help from you guys. I flashed WP7 for my HD2, everything was good. But I accidentally unregistered my phone by 'Windows Phone Developer Registration'. And I failed to register it again.
'Error communicating with the developer portal. Please set the correct data and time on the phone, check the Internet connection and try again later (ErrorCode:0x64)' was the error message.
And I failed to flash the ROM or reinstall the MAGLDR113 once again on my phone.
'Error Description: USB init failed; Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp(1198)' was the error message when I tried to flash the ROM again.
How can I fix my problem?

Similar problem here.
I flashed my HD2 with a custom ROM that already had the jailbreak baked into. Yesterday I purchased a developer program membership and thought I might legally register the phone.
I startet the registration tool from the Windows Phone Developer Tools and it said the phone was already registered. I managed to successfully unregister the phone but then, when trying to reregister it using my Live ID, I got the same error message (ErrorCode:0x64).
A lot of people at the developer forum on MSDN are complaining about this error as well. A couple of them said the registration tool wouldn't work on 64bit Windows. Some of them installed Windows 7 x86 on a virtual machine and tried to register their phone from there and it worked.
I am going to give it a try, too.
Did you have any success in the meantime?
Hi,
I have been trying to update my HTC HD MINI (Photon) to the stock rom but without success.
I have downloaded the official .exe file from HTC, and followed the steps, but when it goes to start the update process, the HTC goes to the 3 color display, loses the active sync connection, and the program gives and error doe to the lost of communication. I have tried letting the 3 color screen and updating but without the active sync, it does not start.
What am i doing wrong?
Best regards
whats the error code number?
is your phone carrier locked?
