I dont have the option to share webpages, photos etc. via the stock email client that comes with Android 2.1 (the icon is a white envelope with a green @ symbol)
Does yours work? Open a webpage, from the menu, tap "share page" and screen will come up with "share via" and will list a bunch of options, bluetooth, facebook, gmail etc. However, the mail client is not listed.
This is very frustrating as I use it for my main email account and either have to attach photos or copy/paste urls into emails to send them.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Thanks very much!

Hi! I have the following problem ( not directly HD2 related):
I've configured my hd2 to retrieve my mail from my yahoo account each hour ( don't really need push services) and it works flawlessly. The only problem is that when I delete a mail on the phone, it also syncs with the server and the mail gets deleted there too. I'd like to have the option of deleting it only on the phone, and keeping it on the server, is that possible?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, go to mail, enter the inbox.
menu - scroll to tools - options select account
then send/receivce schedula
advanced settings
"when deleting messages:" and change to the appropriate option
Thanks a lot, can't believe I didn't see the "Tools" menu (t'was because I didn't scroll down ).
Wait, I don't see an advanced settings tab at all...
i also would like to know how to do this.....
i use Hotmail for my email..... I have the account set up and working on my phone, but there is no Advanced settings tab available, to select "deleting messages" options ???
is this just not possible to keep messages on the server, using free online email accounts such as Hotmail, Yahoo, gMail ???
PS: I have no idea what these things mean, but I have heard the terms before regarding email account.... is it something to do with being a POP or IMAP account ???
Hello,
I have set up my gmail as IMAP with the standard config of the HD2. Everything works fine, the only problem is that the mail only shows the last couple days and not the enitre mail account.
Shouldn't is show all mails I have in my gmail account since it's setup is IMAP?
If so, did I miss a setting?
Thanks in advance for helping!
P.S. I've searched the forum for similar threads but couldnt find one, apologies if it's a double post.
I'm not sure about IMAP but when using activesync to interact with gmail, there is a way to tell it how far back to download emails.
Why aren't you using activsync and gmail's push email service by the way?
When you're setting it up, on the last screen when you are selecting what services you want to use (calendar, contacts, email) if you highlight email then you can click on setting and set how far back you want to sync.
NOTE: Don't try and do tasks or texts because google doesn't support them yet.
Hope this helps
For Yahoo (not Hotmail!)
1. Select eMail in the HD2 Start Menu.
2. Select your mail account (without opening the mail, if you open the mail, simply press back arrow on hardware keys, and then reselect eMail form Start Menu.
This will ensure Mail Account is highlighted.
3. Select Menu > options
4. Tap the account to change settings
5. Select Send/Receive Schedule
6. Select frequency and Download options eg past 3 days, 5, 7, 30, ALL
Download size for mail and attachments also available.
This does not appear to be available for Hotmail account!
Hope this helps.
works fine, thanks
I have searched far and wide for a solution to the reply all bug, and I did find a solution on the MSDN blog.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/outlook_mobile/archive/2006/03/22/558605.aspx
However, the "My e-mail addresses" field is grayed out for me; and the only other post I could find online was something about it being unchangeable after account creation. I experimentally found a solution, and now I'm posting it here for archival purposes.
I had this issue on WM6.5.x with the gmail exchange server in outlook mobile 2010.
To reiterate; the reply all bug will add your own email to the list of recipients when you "reply all" to an email. The fix is to tell outlook what your email is, so it knows it shouldn't send it to you (apparently the exchange setup makes this unclear; see msdn blog link above). In order to fill out the field, I had to;
1. Open activesync, press "Menu" > "Options..."
2. Select "Microsoft Exchange" (or whichever account you're having this issue with) and delete it.
3. Now you'll have to set up your exchange server config again; but when you get to the screen where you select which services you'll be using (email, calendar, contacts, text messages, tasks), select email and press "Settings..."
4. Press "Advanced..." and voila! the "My e-mail addresses" field isn't grayed out anymore. Type your email address into it, press OK.
5. Finish the setup and resync.
Now, the "reply all" button will work as expected. If someone sends an email to you and you only, reply all will open a compose dialog to just that person (and not add you to the To: list as well!). I'm not sure what other peoples' preferences are, but ever since I got gmail, it's very rare when I don't want to reply all, so this fix was invaluable to me.
I just need to figure out how to add this to xda_uc; the activesync.xml doesn't seem to have an option for this.
This is a bug? How else do you keep a record of emails you send from your phone?
Yeah it's a bug. Sent messages go in the sent folder, you don't need or want a copy in your inbox...
Not to mention you'll get the mail received alert next time it syncs with exchange. And no, it's not someone replying to your email... it's the email you just sent. Very annoying.
In the stock Mail app, which I'm using for my exchange email, I can't get images to show up in-line in messages.
They appear as attachments on another tab in the email, but clicking "Show Pictures" at the top of each email does not seem to toggle anything.
I just get a empty square with a little blue box with a "?" in it.
Anyone else have this experience?
Thanks.
I have the same problem. I even have some messages that the attachment cant be downloaded. I really like how the ipad mail client allows you to see it all inline. That would be my preference as well.
I have searched high and low but cannot find a solution for me on this problem. I am running the Gingerbread RC by AT&T and have been using GO Launcher EX for a while now. I cannot find an option to make a shortcut to a specific email account's inbox. The default EMail link goes to the phones default account, and the messaging icon goes to the list of all the accounts. I would like to make it so that I can have individual icons for each email account, like Blackberry does is the best description. I have tried AnyCut, K9 (which sucks for exchange), and about anything else I have read.
Only thing I will not do is change my launcher applications. Please help me if you have any ideas.
For Gmail, long press home screen, shortcuts, select Gmail labels, select Gmail account, select which folder, I.e. inbox, shortcut created.
May be same for other email.
Hope this helps.

I placed same thread in the questions sections so if you feel the need to close this thread I am good.

Thanks but for non-GMail that doesn't work.
