hello
i have problem when connecting my device in downloading mode
(volme down+home+power)
it can find no driver.
at my work it went noramly and i pur rom on no problem but at home i can not use odin cause my comp can't find drivers.
i have all drivers instaled and in normal mode works great just in download mode not???
i had xp on and now i instaled win7 and the same problem.
it doesen't matter if i put my usb in debugging mode or not always the same...
any idea...help please??
regards Matjaz

you can install the Android SDK drivers on your home PC
also make sure you have a good working USB port
some computer have defective USB ports that does funny things.
at home 1 of my keyboard does that
1 USB por works great, the 2nd USB port acts like crazy, so i only use it to charge battery on that one.

great thx i will try now those methods.....
tnx

no....none of the solutions works.....any other idea?

it doesn't make any sense.
did you download Android SDK?
when you plug in your phone to the PC, you have to select the drivers that came with the Android SDK
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
if those drivers doesn't work, then you have no way of using Odin or ADB
you need to also set the phone to be in USB debugging mode, inside settings > application

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. I had problems getting my epic to show on my pc as well. For me, it wasn't the dr4ivers, but the fact I had it plugged into a usb hub. Try plugging it in a main usb port on the back of your case... these are usually the ones for your keyboard/mouse.

I haven't been able to get drivers to load at all... I have given up.
I too have a 64bit Win7 machine.
I too had the same drama for days on end..
I too read that installing PDA net will get you up and running
so..
I too am suggesting the following:
get PDA net and when it installs, select "samsung" and enjoy being able to plug your phone into your computer
I hope this helps
When booting windows hold F8 key and choose "Disable driver signature",now boot into windows and intall drivers it should work.
If not intall PdaNet tether on ur epic download drivers to ur phone for ur pc(it promts u) install them and ur good to go,dont forget to disable driver signiture and if u on win64 bit than u gotta disable it each time u boot into windows.

[Q] Problems with Magldr installation

I dont get a usb connection to my omnia 7
I tried it on 3 pcs 1 with 64bit 2 with 32bit and all usb ports
On all pcs I installed the usb driver
All pcs recognize my phone but the software gives this error:
[Error Description]:
Please make sure that your device is connected to your computer.
also make sure that right drivers are installed (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)
Try to connect device to different USB port and also you can try to reboot PC.
Also you can try to exclude USB hubs.
[Info]: USBWorkDMLI_SAM.cpp (173)
anyone knows what i am doing wrong ?
regards chris
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as chris1005, with an Omnia 7.
I strictly followed the instructions to install Magldr:
1) Installing Usb Samsung Drivers
2) Put my phone in download mode
3) Connect it to my pc
4) Launch "DMLI for Samsung V1"
And when i reach the "Connect" step, i get the "173" error (view attachment).
I run on a Win7 x64, my phone is developer unlock.
Thanks for the answers
I had the same problem, but it was solved when I used a USB port on the back (connected to the motherboard) instead of one on the front (connected trough a hub).
Hi,
Thanks for your response, but i tried this method, it doesn't work too, whether the usb on motherboard or the usb hub.
:/.
I don't know where this is blocking.
Is there any other solution to flash a rom on an Omnia 7 than the DFT solution ?
Thanks.
I flashed back from 7.8 to 7.5 and had the same problem again, but ater I rebooted my computer, it worked.
Try to follow this: http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/tutorial_how_to_install_magldr_and_custom_roms_on_samsung_devices-02-08-12

[Q] Debugging on mac

Hi, I try to use my G2 with Android Studio for development but for some reason ADB doesn't recognize the phone!
Obviously I read around the internet. I've downloaded latest drivers, enabled debugging mode on my device and only thing left is that I dont see the option to use internet (Ethernet) when I plug my device into USB port. This is the step where everyone saying that it works if you do that.
I have a Mac not a PC. On PC it works fine. Any Ideas?
Nvm, Reinstalling the driver did the trick. thanks

[Q] Windows does not detect my phone

Hey guys. I have a problem with my SGY. Windows does not detect it, tried different cables, but no luck. Running Windows 8.1.
I have also tried it with a different PC, with Win XP, it works. I also ran Live Ubuntu, it also detects it, so it's a problem in Windows.
Tried reinstalling Kies, USB drivers, but it doesn't help, no yellow triangles in Device Manager.
Odin does detect the phone while it is in Download Mode, it is in COM3.
Does anyone know what to do here?

Follow my instructions for how to get windows 8.1 to recognise your phone - links in my signature
Basically
Install Samsung USB drivers from my firmware thread
Remember in Windows 8.1 you have to run the setup in compatibility mode - right click the setup file - click properties - select compatibility tab - select run this programme in compatibility mode for - select windows xp sp3 - apply
Run the setup - it will now run & install
Plug your phone into the rear USB port (any if on laptop)
Now plug in any other USB device that you have already installed eg a USB mouse dongle
Windows 8.1 will now detect your phone

If MTP, PTP does not work (If you can't acces phone storage with PC)

My Win10 Insider Preview machine did not recognize the phone. Nothing happened when I connected the phone and I could not access storage of the phone.
Below is the solution for it:
Go to Control Panel - Device Manager - LeMobile Android Device (could be under a different name. Choose the one that is your phone) - Update Driver - Manually Install a Driver - Let me pick a list of available drivers on my computer - MTP USB .

Uhm ... when you connected the phone to computer you changed the mode on phone from USB charging to MTP mode ?
In my Win10 x64 build 14392.447 not problem to see the phone in MTP mode after changing mode on phone.
Alternative solution is to use KDE Connect app over Wifi. Bonus is that once set up, it is possible to push files from the phone to the PC without any interaction on the PC side - e.g. useful if the PC doubles as a file server.

Both of my home & works computer (Win10 14959) failed to detect it as MTP or PTP drive. Might have been due to those having previous phone's drivers.
But I faced same problem with fresh out of the box Win8 laptop.
No issue with the MTP, however I can't seem to get adb to work. list of devices attached is showing empty.

I had the same issue, i reinstalled minimal ADB and removed the drivers from my pc, rebooted my pc. Plugged the phone into a different USB port and voilá ADB could see it

Wanted to add my voice here too that I did the same - I had to clean up previous drivers I had installed over time for varios phones and different ADB versions like the one from clockworkmod - once I cleaned that out and installed google drivers from SDK PTP worked and I was able to do Helium restores
I had issue on my Win10 PC, but I found that after I disabled USB debugging, it would work as MTP/PTP, but not for ADB of course. So apparently, I have to toggle USB debugging ON/OFF to switch back and forth from MTP and ADB.
Small pain in the butt.
Solution.
I had the same issue. Drove me NUTS for about an hour. In the end, simply unchecked the USB DEBUGING in developer settings. This will make it pop up immediately.
Update:
I clearly should have read the post above mine first.
