Seems like every time I wake my phone up the home screen is horizontal even though I'm holding my phone vertical. Any way to fix this?

Hi,
New to this forum but have read here a bit from time to time.
I have downloaded the compass app from the android market, and apart from having to calibrate the compass very often, the compass needle jumps to point at the trackball/base of the phone every time menu, home, or back is pressed.
The harder i press, the closer to the base it points. Could someone test this and see if they have the same issue? Simply download compass, and while watching the needle, press and hold 'menu' and see what happens.
Curious if this is a manufacturing flaw or if i should have it replaced.
Thanks.
Anyone? bump bump
which compass? There are quite a fee apps.... the top free one?

Yeah, top free one with the blue compass logo. This one to be specific:

When you open the app and after calibrating, see if the needle starts moving around when you press or hold the menu button or any other buttons around that area. For me it does a complete 180 if I fully press menu which is kind of weird.. Same thing happens in google maps, the little blue arrow points towards the bottom when pressing menu, even if just pressing over the key without activating it.
Mine does seem to move but only slightly not that extreme... any magnets on your fingers? Lol

yeah tried without the magnets too but still flickers
When I am on a call and I tilt my phone it goes to speaker phone and it is driving me crazy. I can not find a setting to turn it off. Can anyone direct me to the solution? I am sure it is easy and I am making this difficult.
Thats not a feature of the phone. When you tilt the phone your light sensor turns the screen on and your cheek presses the button

My face does not touch my screen. Why the hell does my phone go to speaker every single time I pull the phone away from my ear? The moment it tilts to the side the speaker phone turns on.
Edit: I finally figured it out. The app called Sanity is doing this. There was an option to disable the feature.
Has anyone noticed wonking on stock gingerbread? I have GR140. Since this morning I notice that when call arrives on phone screen off, screen doesn't come back on properly.
Only notification area is displayed. Rest of screen is black. Workaround is to press power key twice.
Yes, I am having the same issue. The work around for me(Since my power button is broken) is sliding on right to left approximately where "Slide to Answer" bar should have been and sometimes I am successfully able to receive the call.
Nope, I don't have this problem.
I keep having the same problem every since the new firmware came through. I haven't tried the power-button twice workaround.
Yep.. I'm having this problem as well.. very annoying.. Any one find a fix?
A fix for this will be shortly released by Google. Its a known issue.

I've had it a few times, normally, just rotating the phone causes the screen to re-appear.

does anybody notice after updating to 4.2 that it takes a longer time to power off the tablet (the fadeout animation) Also when rotating the home screen and lockscreen it is much slower.
nobody has had this issue?
Nope. Home screen rotates fine. Might have a small delay....which I like as it doesn't switch at the blink of an eye.

i also haven't noticed much in the way of a slow down in rotation animation. i actually dont mind it simply because i use the N7 in portrait mode most of the time.
as for the screen off animation....doesn't bother me..i actually like it. once i hit the button it make the screen unresponsive anyway, so i see no problem with it.
