[Q] Restore to stock - success? - Touch HD General

Hello folks,
I just have a simple question which I can't answer myself and I couldn't find an answer in short time here either.
My Touch HD is restarting all the time and I intend to send it back to my provider (o2 Germany). Now I tried to restore the ROM to stock.
The Bootloader shows the following:
BLAC100 32M
SPL-1.54.0000
MicroP-Blackstone (LED) v6
When I got this phone I had a 1.14 ROM installed, but O2 Germany provides a 1.57.xxx ROM on their homepage. I believe that this new ROM bases on the 1.54.000 SPL Bootloader.
So my question is: Does this information lead to the fact that I used custom ROMs or could this be manufacturer default?
Greetings and thanks in advance,
Benjamin

Have you thought about the possability of before sending the device back to the store, flashing a stock ROM? I am sorry about your specific question, I dont have that detailed know-how your looking for, but here is the link to the HTC Support page with the lates EU stock ROM.
I hope that someone else can answer your Q or that flashing a stock rom could be a work-around for you.

to flash an english OS over danish OS ROM

I have just bought htc touch hd with dansih OS rom. the phone is locked to danish 3g (www.3.dk).
#1. Any thing I need to take care to flash a new OS on a locked phone?
#2. Do I need to find&save the configuration for 3g setup thus after I
flash to english OS, I will still be able to call&surf?
#3. How could I backup the complete ROM thus when something goes wrong
I could revert to original ROM and retrun the phone?
I tried to find the answer int he forum, but failed. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Now I started to get some answer to my own question:
#1. I will need to have SSPL or HSPL to flash my rom to another language
I prefer to SSPL.
#2. The phone will still be locked to 3.com after flashing which I don't care
Still questions:
#1. Any setup related to 3.com for internet surfing?
#2. How I could backup original ROM and revert to the original ROM?
I am living in DK and got the same phone from 3.
Used USPL when flashing, and no problems at all.
The phone will automatically get 3;s settings from the network.
The original Danish rom is available in the rom development forum in one of the stickies
Thank you for the answer. I will try to flash it then.
Just a piece of advice - MUST read wiki pages regarding flashing ROMS. This will enable you to flash the device with confidence and will prevent any possibility of DAMAGE you may cause during flashing.
Credit to those pages goes to respective authors.
Thank you. I have just successfully flashed HD to the latest english version
with the advice from wiki and you.
Everything works fine.
Got another couple of questions:
#1. What is the difference of "fully power off" from "soft reset"
#2. GPS and AGPS. How does GPS work in HD?
Is that possible to turn it on/off manually to save power if navigation is not needed.
#3. Do you have any recommendation of a cooked ROM? My taste is to have a lite version. e.g.: I don't really need google maps which I could install at any time when needed.
Thanks.

[Q] Returning HTC Touch HD to stock Orange UK ROM

I need some help please to return my HTC Touch HD to the stock Orange UK ROM.
Although I have been able to successfully flash a cooked ROM to my phone, I am concerned that I do something wrong when trying to return the phone to stock as I need to return it to Orange UK.
I have found an upgrade ROM on the HTC website. Is this the correct ROM?
Is it just a case of downloading this to my phone and that is it?
I have the 1.56.OliNex SPL on my phone at the moment, will this cause problems, to I need to change this or get rid of it?
I have noticed from other threads that people speak about changing the radio etc. I don't have a clue what that means.
Sorry for being totally clueless as far as this is concerned but a dummies guide of how to do this would be very much appreciated.

[Q] ID check

Hello
After many reading Im here to ask for help, lets see if a brillant mind can help me out.
I want to update my ROM to the latest WP7 and I need HSPL 3 to be able to do it.
I have flahsed my HD2 with many ROMS, I think the latest one I flashed was RUU_Leo_S_HTC_SPA_3.14.412.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship though Im not sure. This flash made my SPL change to SPL-3.03.
Because HSPL 3 can not be flashed with SPL-3.03 (maybe Im wrong, but this is my though after reading many post) I think I have to flash via ActiveSync any stock rom (with my current CID) to go back to a previous SPL that support HSPL3 and then be able to install it.
How can I find out my current CID to know what stock ROM I need? I have tryed many but it seems none is good.
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards
[FIXED - GOLD CARD SOLUTION]

[Q] need wm 6.1 rom for my htc 3300!!!!!!

I have HTC P3300 and it came with WM6 with the following config.
ROM : 3.7.701.1 WWE
ROM date : 6/21/07
Radio : 02.69.90
Protocol : 4.1.13.30
ext Rom : 3.6.707.101
Now i want to upgrade it to WM6.1
I SEARCHED THRU MANY POSTS. i got so many answers to my questions but i have some fundamental questions and if anybody can answer that i will be really obliged.
1) I have vodafone India. Can i flash a ROM which is for another carrier. For eg. when I searched the thread "Artemis_Upgrades" I could not find any HTC WWE factory ROM which matched the above specs. BUT when i saw the factory ROM of DOPOD WM6. It matched the above specs perfectly.
so the basic question is if anything goes wrong in my upgrade then can I flash the DOPOD rom on my HTC
2) I have searched the forums but i could not find a valid factory WM6.1 ROM. If anybody can provide a link then it would be a great help to me. Please also specify which ROM (dopod or any other) is compatible to my HTC.
3) Once i get both the above factory ROMs (WM6 and WM6.1) i will be flashing my HTC and the steps that i would follow is as mentioned in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401814
1) soft -reset using the USPL
2) flashing the ROM.
Please let me know if I need to do anything other than this!
Thank you in advance.
I suggest reading through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870041

pmsl neo, loving the xda spirit hahaa
bhaskaramp
follow the link that neo gave you and flash your p3300 with uspl1.11.cmon.
you cant go wrong if you follow the steps on my thread in post 1.
(post 1... here...)
if it does not work, or if you have any questions, just message me, im always here to help.
*do not try anything untill you have sucessfully done uspl1.11.cmon.
Sooo.. the point im trying to make is: you wont even need the original/official rom once you have got uspl1.11.cmon installed.
eg, if you flash a rom and it goes wrong, uspl1.11.cmon will let you flash ANY rom, so the original/official rom is not even needed!
Rn
i know i said it before but ill say it again: im always here to help
And that's that.

[Q] Reinstall custom ROM after stock ROM install

Hello there, and first of all excuse my english, I'll try to explain my question as best as I can
I have an htc Surround running a custom ROM (the phone was already running an old DFT ROM when I got my hands on it), after some research I am still doubting if flashing my phone with a stock ROM can lock something making it unable to reinstall the current Custom ROM on my phone.
It's just a simple question, but can't find any clear info about that, so I am asking as my last resource, I don't want to lock the bootloader or something like that.
My plan is to install a stock ROM, then upgrade it step-by-step to 7.8 using the Seven-Eighter tool, and if anything goes wrong or I don't like it, reinstall the custom ROM from always using the RUU I have on my hard disk
If need to post some info about my phone feel free to ask about it.
Regards and thanks for reading!
Hi, it's me again
Reading more I find this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
looks like I should lose my HSPL (as I refer to bootloader in my previous post) if I flash using a stock ROM using the RUU from NODO.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Regards
