Dead pixel or stuck any salutations - Galaxy S I9000 General

hello i have gotten my sgs e with recovery and dl mode but it once again has a dead or stuck pixel
ive noticed its red on a white screen and black on green i cant see it any where eles but in red(most screens) black( on green) is my best bet to just return or is there any way to unstuck the pixels?
any solutions?

it'll be safer to return it.
but i know some stores like BELL they wont let you return a device with dead pixel unless it has more than 5 dead pixel

haha really i would no joke jump over the counter and beat them down but i got it at bestbuy and this my 3rd soon t be 4th within the last 4 days ya bell im learning is SUCH a rip

yeah no problem on bestbuy or future shop, as long as you can show them the dead pixel they would exhange it for you

yes bestbuy has been good about this
bell just seems to mess around with ever one no recovery mode they take your phone for 3 weeks
i want to test the amount of data i use since im on contract and will pay over 3000 over the next 3 years and my data is free for the first month
thanks for the help

Good night white spot

My 4th replacement Mogul just went back to Sprint in the mail and I'm settling in with the Touch Pro. I'll miss the hardware buttons , but I won't be missing the white spot or the easy to break usb port. I had fun with the mogul, but it is bar none the least reliable phone and or pda that I've ever owned. I thought I would be sticking with the mogul for at least 6 months to a year more, but the [email protected]#$ keeps breaking and the refurbs Sprint gives out are total crap. Big thanks to all those who have and continue to contribute here. You turned a device that is severely flawed by its manufacturer almost to the point of uselessness into a really fun and useful tool. THANK YOU! Goodnight moguls everywhere.
i had just got a new, possibly refurb, 6800.... and its got the white spot in the SAME location as my old one. it was there when i first turned it on... lower left corner
I don't think there are anymore "new" moguls to be found. If it came a small white box, it's a refurb. When my second to last mogul died, I went to a Sprint repair center. They had 2 moguls to choose from, one had 3 white spots, the other had one really bright one. They wouldn't budge, if I wanted a phone right then, I had to choose from those two or wait till they got more. I chose the one with a single spot that also had a sloppy loose keyboard and as I found, about 1/3 less battery life than my previous moguls. I ended up going through insurance and getting a new Touch Pro.
Heh, small carriers that don't get the Diamond or TP are still sellin' the 6800's new. Ready to get rid of mine!

Man, that sucks!
haha your tellin me, had the day off so i stopped in to bug them about the touch pro haha, they said maybe this summer but i dont know. i do know they took the ppc6800 out of the stores an dont show it online anymore.... hoping for the touch pro
i got lucky and got a new one back in january (verizon) and it does not have the white spot like my last one
i went to my sprint store and they told me to come back on monday for my phone, i went today and they gave me the mogul, i took a quick look at it and the spring to open the keyboard were horrible, it was getting stuck half way...so i told the guy i wasnt going to accept a cellphone that its worst than mine..he told me "but you havent try it yet"..and i told him..."i just did" so they will send another one until Wednesday. If its the same, then i will ask to talk to their manager...because is not only wasting my time but also gas.
and no, im not making up to get the pro, the talk button doesnt work(i just use the screen) and the SD reader sometimes undetected the memory, thats the 2 main problems i found myself with. besides the opportunity to get the pro
I got the white spot on my XV6800.... I guess I'll have to see if I have the time to flash it back to stock and return it to a Verizon store....
Also one of my buttons is starting to go....dam, got a brand new one about 4 months ago and already these problems....
weird thing just happend...they gave 2 moguls!...for so reason the tech thought those 2 phones were mine and were needed some repairs....he told me by tomorrow i'll have those TWO phones replace....i went with 1 and im coming out with 2
well it happened i ended it up having 2 moguls
i have the white spot but not super noticeable... i can live with it... dont have the insurance anymore.....
let me guess, bottom right corner? i have flashed 5 Moguls/Titans/XV6800s and they all had that spot . some more so than others...
mine is on the left, on both of them
Same here bottom left corner well its more towards the center but still cornerish.

I get an upgrade in august anyways so hopefully they upgrade me.
if i was you, i wait until the new HTC cellphones comes. diamond 2 and pro2...those are more worth an upgrade.

Have any of you had to send it back?

I just noticed a dead pixel on my phone... Such a bummer... Tomorrow I gotta get up early since I got my phone online.... Send it back and go to my local tmobile with the shipping slip so they can give me a new phone on the spot. This was the instructions given to me from tmobile on the phone. Hopefully everything goes smooth... Ive only owned my red monster for 3 freakin days dude!! :-(

Had to ship my phone back to tmobile after only a few hours of use. There was a dead LED under the home button. I had to ship it back to tmobile and they reshipped the phone 2nd day air to me. Wish they would have told me to go to the tmobile store to pick up the replacement.
Yeah... In fact I just did my double check phone call and now there saying only "certain" T-Mobile stores do exchanges like the way the Person I spoke to first stated. Now I gotta call t-mobile back in the morning so they can call a store that does do exchanges as long as I have a packing slip... ahh I smell a disaster lol

My phone bricked itself, but...
It might have been my fault. I got the phone from Wirefly for $75. I have had an HTC Aria since the summer and loved it, but found myself craving a bigger screen and loved the idea of WiFi calling, android 2.2 and a better camera. Unfortunately, I had problems from the beginning. At first my signal kept cycling between edge and hspa with 1 bar. Then, an ota started. I thought it completed, but I may have inadvertently left the house while it was downloading. At some point while I was on my way from Austin to Houston, the phone started cycling on and off. By the time I got to Houston, it was bricked I sent it back to Wirefly and cancelled my T-Mobile account.
i took back my white one, i had a lot of creaking on that phone at the bottom of it and plus i ended up wanting the black one over time. got tired of the white one. but here in cali u got 30 days to return ur phone after u bought it from the tmobile store, so im glad for that. if it was 14 days i would have been screwed lol. but they took my phone no problem, i just told them i wanted a black one and thats it.

That sounds very strange. I've not heard anyone else have that problem. Plus, the OTA is downloaded over the Tmob network so leaving the house shouldn't have caused anything.
I may have to exchange mine as the ffc appears to be off center (to the right).

Dude, now that you're saying that I too notice that my ffc is off to the right and not in the center JK bro, I'm pretty sure it's meant to be that way
I returned my first black one for a white one when the black one hit FC city loadin up the Faves widget
Then... returned the white (after S-Off) for another white due to creaking at the bottom!
On the 3rd one now (last exchange TMO will give me) and it feels just right
Had to send back my first one because it had two dead pixels. My ffc was also off to the right.
Got my new one today only to realize the minute i got home under better light that there are two more dead pixels. My ffc is now in the dead center.
Any advice? aren't we only able to get two returns through the t-mobile store? i know if i send it into t-mobile for any reason they'll just send me back a refurbished one

Did you unroot your phone before exchanging it or did you leave it rooted?

Left it... just wiped it at the counter.... they won't check the bootloader... so as long as its not a brick at the store... i wouldn't worry

Are you within your remorse period? if so... return the ***** completely and buy it else where. and don't feel bad about it... if you are going to pay this much for a device and presumably have it for 2 years... it better be perfect now... cuz it won't get any better.

Yes, I technically have 13 days of remorse since I had to get the second phone. I have to drive 1.5 hours just for the nearest tmobile store so I called the call center and they are sending me another replacement. I just have the sick feeling that what they are going to send me is a good ol' refurb just like they do every damn time you send your phone in and they "send you a new one." this phone is perfect so far but if it has 2 dead pixels out of the box i can only imagine it will continue to get worse.

Dont worry so much..
It's way too early in the product life-cycle to get refurbs. Believe me, it takes time to get them to the centers, inspect them, do what ever repairs are necessary and recertify them and supply TMO. Supply chain cannot fulfill this fast since the device has only been out for ~2 weeks. That's one benefit of adopting early.

[Q] Dead or stuck Pixel?

So I finally got my Iconia in the mail last Thursday 12/8, I bought it at Best Buy for Cyber Monday along with many people here. When I turned on the unit it was a bright red pixel in the lower left area of the screen. I am not too sure if this is a stuck or dead pixel. I downloaded quite a few apps from the market that supposedly can fix stuck pixels but so far nothing has worked. I've ran JScreenFix for hours on end and nothing has worked. That app has been recommended the most by people experiencing stuck pixels. So to make matters worse, I've tried to contact Best Buy and had very bad service with them. Either agents lie completely to me saying they'll ship a replacement or agents telling me they'll contact me in 3 to 10 business days regarding the replacement. What I want to know is, has anyone experienced dead or stuck pixels on their Iconia, and if so, anyone have any ideas on what may work? I'm all out of ideas, any ideas?
Well if it is a dead pixel, I'd simply walk into a Best Buy if possible and deal with it in person.
The problem is the local Best Buy gives me the worst help. They don't have that unit in stock and they tell me they don't know when they can get it in. They can't order it either. I've called their Customer care line and they're telling me to wait 3 to 10 days so they can get back to me if they can replace it. Long wait lol.
I say walking into best buy and complain until they do something. Squeaky wheel gets the oil

[Q] Nexus 4 Dead Pixel Issue

Hello everyone,
So last Wednesday I ordered my N4 off of Swappa (I bought the phone NIB) . The transaction went very smoothly and I received the device that Saturday. Tonight I went to use my phone and came across a dead pixel . I immediately contacted Google for an RMA and they told me to contact the original seller to continue with the RMA process (I've done this). I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a way to remove dead pixels as I can tell that if I do have to go through with the RMA, it is going to be a mess.

"Dead pixels" are, literally, dead pixels. There is nothing you can do to bring them back to life.
Yes there's nothing you can do to fix it. The only other thing i can think of you can try is order a replacement screen from eBay or something and replace it yourself. That's about it.

Galaxy s8 defective Samsung wont replace it, what to do?

Hello everyone, I have been an android user for around 5 consistent years now and I got an LG g4 when it first came out, well after about a year of use it broke so I was without a phone for months, so I waited for the galaxy s8, I pre-order it, and I should have learned my lesson about buying phones right when they come out, I did that with my LG g4 and it had that hardware bug. Anyways I have had the phone for awhile now and it has started to freeze, the screen shuts off and won't respond for a few minutes, it will freeze for 2 seconds then shut down and reboot, the battery life is about 2 hours at 100% charge, it gets burning hot while charging and sometimes while I use it and about 2 weeks ago, I had picked up my phone off my desk and looked at the back of it and it was cracked, I know I didn't drop it either because if I do I will look at it for a good 20 minutes and the room I was in has very soft carpet so it won't break, then last Saturday I went on vacation and my I woke up that morning and grabbed my phone, and what yah know it was broken on the front and worse on the back, and I know 100 that I didn't drop it then either, because it was on the charger, so I called Samsung today, a few times actually, the people could barely speak English, were very rude and were giving me wrong information, and the problem is they want $205 to fix the screen, well why would I pay for something #1 I didn't break #2 it's defective, so why would I pay to have the screen fixed on a defective piece of hardware? So right now I am at a loss and I'm very upset, So basically I turn to my favourite form in my hour of need to ask what I should do, and I can't return it either because I'm making payments on it over sprint, also I may be uninformed of the situation because I have never had this issue, so any help you can give me is extremely appreciated
Device information: Samsung Galaxy s8 sm-g950u Arctic silver.
any questions and any answers or help or anything would be extremely appreciated
Not sure if this will help or not, but it sounds like your battery is bad and expanding inside of your phone.
Good luck bro, getting a free replacement for a cracked screen is almost impossible... I kno, I dropped 2 lg g2's in a 2weeks time span of initially getting the ****ing thing... went thru my carrier "Verizon" to get a replacement, although it worked out in the end for me cause the 2nd time I dropped the g2, they didn't have anymore g2 replacements so they sent me a g3 instead... if u have insurance thru ur carrier that's ur cheapest n best bet
You don't need to deal with Samsung directly as it sounds like you purchased the phone through Sprint. Take it to a Sprint store and explain what is happening or call customer support if you wish. They will be much easier to work with. To reiterate call Sprint not Samsung.

Already talked to them, they wont do anything they told me to contact samsung.
Maybe you was sleepwalking and you broke your screen? Joking. Now seriously your screen it's cracked. What do you expect from Samsung? "Yo my screen it's cracked! How did you cracked? I didn't cracked yo! Then how did it got cracked? I don't know...magic yo!"
Just pay the 200$, get your phone fixed and move on..
I am with the first commentary. I have a repair store here in France and I have seen 3 batteries swell up and break the screen. Not much you can do. Warranty will only get you so far. It seems the customer service ppl are there more to deflect the customers away more than to help. They are hoping For you to give up period .And move on so if you just keep trying and pressuring them though replace your phone if not your only option is To pay the $200 .
