Hi,
It seems that the time it takes to disable the light sensor during a call is slow, and would quite like to turn off the button off the call as well, without needing to touch the screen to do so.
What do you think?
Thanks to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740629
I find a way to do that
Just add this line:
Key 116 ENDCALL
and if you want to wake up device with end key too:
Key 116 ENDCALL WAKE
in file: /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
This works with mattc 1.5 builds, and other using old kernel, news kernel have this feature allready
Have a nice day!

Which file editor do you use?
Everyone I use saves the file in 0.00 bytes
It's not needed because it's already fixed in the kernel git. You need only to compile a new kernel.

Hey Caedanne - I attempted to use Astro to add the relevant key input to file, but - like another poster here, the file was saved at 0kb (it became a blank file).
Upon reboot - as I feared would happen - my hardware keys became non-functional.
Could you therefore please just let us know step by step how you edited the file using Astro (I used edit - open as text file - then edited it and saved it) - was there something I missed here?
If anyone else could tell me/us how to edit the file properly (either via a desktop computer or - more preferably - within the phone itself, it would be greatly appreciated).
Thank you.
Um, Maybe I'm missunderstanding something. Using Darkstone V2, all I had to do was set the end call button to also end calls in the settings. I just tested it by calling my voice mail, I hit the end call button and it will end my call. It will also lock my screen and unlock it.
Is this what you guys are trying to achieve? Or am I missing the big picture here.

On the NEXUS builds you can hang up using the off key, but not on the Sense builds.
Ehm ok... so could someone please post the original file? I can't connect to a PC the next couple of days, and my file is completely blank.
I would be very grateful if someone could post the file!

I have the Softkey program already.... and I am guessing that the recent calls are part of the phone program and that there probably isn't a separate exe for it... but if anyone knows how to pull up the call list I would really appreciate it. Everyone ignores me on here and I know it's the cool thing to do but you could be an awesome trend setter by throwing me a bone!
=)
Try this. It's work for me.
Thanks dude... really appreciate it... trying to figure out how to make it show up as an option in Softkey... tried putting it in program files, didn't work... so now trying the Windows dir.
Nevermind, used a diff. soft key app that allows you to choose program path... works like a charm, I am in your debt!

- Download the CallHistory.zip from Post number two
- Extraxt the CallHistory.exe anywhere to your pda (memory or storagecard)
- Now search for Remap Softkeys on google and install the cab file on your pda
- When installed open it and change the path of the left softkey with the CallHistory.exe
I tried 5 different callhistory.exe and this is the first one that actually brought up the history and not the dialer. Thanks!
I have a Sprint Touch and it only has one hardware button that is customizable. I was hoping with HButton I would be able to map the Send and End key if I pressed and held these buttons to do different tasks.
Is this possible with this program? If not, is there a way to do it?
I think you might be in luck....

Actually the "Bible" also mentions AE Button Plus. This will allow mapping of almost any key including a long/short press for both the send & end keys.
It's a retail proggy, don't remember the cost, but I have a fairly new Beta version if you want to give it a go & test it . PM me for details if you wish.
This is for a different phone and you may not have the same files/configs, but hell, might be worth a try.

If you push the button on the microphone which comes with the X1, it answers a call. If you push it twice it seems to call the last person you called.
Is there a way to use this button to invoke the Voice Command monitor?
Thanks
I found it easier just to re-direct the Soft Buttons!!
Left for Voice Command, Right for Comm Manager
Stuart
Yep, that's exactly what I have. Best set-up by far.
But when in the car, it would be easier to use the mic button, so I'd like to double up on Voice Command access.
So.. no-one else has managed this either?

Take a look at here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"Path"="\\Windows\\<what ever program>.exe"
"VoiceCmdEnable"=dword:0
"LaunchAPEnable"=dword:1
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:a
I am going to include Cyberon VC 2.0 in my rom but it will be Cantonese since it's my native language.
So, to recap the request was for a way to use the Microphone button as the Voice Command button...

Beside the "push once', and "double push", a "push & hold" action will call this exe such as Voice commander in my example.

But this doesn't have anything to do with the microphone button.
Do you read? Of course it does if you are talking about the button in the pic
If you "hold" the button, yr X1 will call the exe program specified in this registry. X1 stock rom does not comes w/ any VC program and you have to install one yrself. Of course, if you put in other program like Core player, it will be start if you hold the button.

Firstly, where have I been rude? Secondly, this has nothing to do with searching. I would challenge you to find a single thread on this subject anywhere else on the whole internet, started before this one. If you're going to criticise at least make some of the criticism partially relevant.
Jackleung, thanks for the solution, but in response to your manner, if you post an arbitrary reg key (a key which has no logical connection to the described solution) and which doesn't work if the instructions are followed (due to the wrong syntax), you should expect for that solution to be met with scepticism.
Coming bach to the original topic:
I wrote a script (thanks, Mort!) that enebles the tap&hold (2-3sec) of the Microphone Button to jump to the next track in Mortplayer (if it is running).
Just copy the two files attached to the \Windows\ directory and change the Registry entry as descibed in Post #5 to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\MP-NT.exe"

There are two different ways for the X1, to remap the soft keys. One is via the button settings in the windows settings, which is a global override which causes the buttons not to behave as softkeys anymore, and the other is via registry setting (have a look into the Wiki here), that maps specific applications to the softkeys while in today view - this way, the softkeys stay available in all other applications. I personally prefer the last approuch, because I don't like fingerprints on my screen.

No, this only works with mortplayer as you need the possibility to change the track via an exe file or at least an exe with a parameter (like in my script)...If you find a way to do this with the media panel (which i doubt you will ) we could have it...otherwise not.

Hi,
I have been creating ROMs for about a month now and i seem to have a problem on most of my recent ROMs which i didn't have before
I am using build 23569, WM6.5.5, Based on Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.01.405.T1 using osKitchen1.31alpha2.
The problem i seem to be having is when i recieve an incoming call there is no screen to answer it, it stays on whatever screen your on. You Cant answer the phone using the hard pickup button. and th phone keeps ringing until i do a battery pull.
Also when i dial out the screen freezes sometimes when answered and cannot end the call or when you end the call either using the end call button or the hard end call button it ends the call but hangs on the screen then i have to push the hard end call button to lock the phone then unlock the phone and press the hard talk button to make sure everything is fine and usually the dialer screen pops up.
I have removed all dialer themes and taskbar themes which temporarily solved th problem but then it started again.
i am using
Code:
Phone Canvas Enhancement 2G v4.2.62520142921.0
Phone Setting v1.72.0.0
I have also tried using
Code:
Phone_Canvas_Enhancement_5_0_61220142530_0
PhoneCanvas_5_30_0_0
PhoneExt_Service_2_52_0_0
I cant seem to fix the problem.
If you would like to see the problem in action please download one of my ROMs from the link in my signature
Many Thanks In Advanced

Thanks for reply i wasent using that one anyways i was just for testing purposes but i think i have narrowed it down to my reg files but dont quiet know which one it is
If you would like to see it let me know i will upload it
I finally found the problem, It was a line in my tweaks app.reg.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\GSensor]
"PollingInterval"=dword:0000000a
I also found out if you change this setting using a app like Advanced Config, you get the same problem. I think it has something to do with build 23569 as when i was using build 23568 i did not have this problem.
I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but when I ring someone and I press the end key, it just turns the screen off and locks the phone with the phone call still going on in the back ground.
Is there anyway to make this button actually end the call?
BTW thanks to all the chefs for making android possible on the HTC HD2

i think he is joking this option will be in the next kernal
In sense builds there is no this option.I think because htc desire, doesnot have endkey button. But if you use latest kernel compiled by michyprima http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756513 the endkey works without the need to set something in settings.
