i make a sms back-up with kies.. and save it to my pc..
after that i flash my i9000 with a new fw..
when i open kies to put my sms back-up back to phone... i don't have any option to do that...
can anybody help me with this...

Kies cannot restore sms back to the phone, because it's a piece of Kies, as we all know.
Also, the sms in Kies are saved in .sme or .sml format or something that cannot be converted to anything else easily.
Your only distant hope, is to install PC Studio, also by Samsung... some have said that it might be able to restore those files. Good luck!
Next time, I recommend "SMS Backup and Restore", fantastic little app, free on the market.

Flashed S100 with Imate rom ... made backup before flashing...
Flash was ok ... phone is working fine .. but.... now when i try to put backup file again in phone Active Synch always give me error it says backup file is not compatible with that kind of mobile phone???????????

Where's the problem? When you sync again you get all your contacts back. You can't restore an S100 backup to an iMate device, they may have the same base (HTC magician) but the firmware is very different. So the restore wont work. Time to reinstall the programs.

I did that in order to change language imate rom has portuguese....
so now i have to flash again to S100 and restore backup.... any other way to make backup ??? like backup everything to memory card???

just an idea.. why not reflash your old firmware back then do a restore.. then use a different backup program like sprite.. then reflash the new firmware again.. i think its worth a try if you got no other options

Your text messages are saved on your device in 'cemail.vol' file, backup this file to ur sd, then recopy it to the device after hard reset.

Another way is to get Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook. This app will sync the text messages into an Outlook folder and then allow you to restore them to the PPC after a hard reset.

i have to extract my SMS Data from a Backupfile i recently made. The problem is, i had to send my Magician to repair and made a backup. But unfortunately the repair-team updated my Software and thats the reason why im not able to restore my backup on my PDA.
I dont want to lose my SMS Data because it includes 100 SMSs .. or so!
There has to be a way, to extract those data and put them on my new PDA.
Please help me. Im desperate cause i asked on many forums and you are my last hope!

I m afraid buddy as it was possible b4 updating ur software as u could have extracted them with application Jeyo mobile ext. on to ur outlook but now don't think so dat there is ne way out .
did u use sprite backup to create a backup file?
i dont know if there is anyone who can assist but i have low emory and cant get my contacts to open due to an error with my downloaded app for pocket cm please advise and if anyone can post a kindergarden version of how to backup my phone and do a flash so that i can put a new rom on it for touch-it i would greatly appreciate it....
what you do is to get pim backup (freeware)
follow the prompt pretty easy to follow (it should save it to the storage card automatically)
it saves your messages n contacts any pictures and videos you will have to active sync your phone
flash your phone and rerun the pim backup and click on restore
then click on the the backup file and you should be good to go
you make it sound so easy i guess i will have to wait until i get with someone who can do it for me i am pretty savvy with comp but that all sounds like chinese to me...
