I work for T-Mobile and have seen few phones with this specific issue along with mine. When you go into the camera app you can see all the soft buttons (take pic, settings tray on left, etc.) From the camera app when GPS is turned on the app stalls. After few seconds the app unstalls but those soft buttons are missing. The only way to get it working again is to reboot the phone.
The GPS in maps works fine and always has been. I've tried the "GPS FIX" but still same problem.
Has anyone has this issue or seen a fix for it?
Have you not tried a master reset? I just did the same and I have no issues. Went into the camera app, enabled GPS.. nothing, it just went back and said "GPS Connected"

Well a few days ago I went on a barrage and installed a bunch of apps like Gyrator 2, SensorLock, LevelSight, HTC Home, Ultimate Launch, HomeScreen ++.
I also coincidentally noticed two problems now First is when the device is on and I press the power, it doesn't turn the device off! Second is the HD is supposed to be able to detect the status of the stylus so when you pull it out in a call it opens the notes application. I also checked with Gyrator 2 which shows what the system reads for the stylus status and it no longer detects whether the stylus is in or not!
I'm going to try to uninstall each app one by one... but do any of you know whether there might be some other problem?? Or if someone's experienced the same thing, what are some recommendations to remedy this issue?
Each day of using the HD more and more problems keep popping up... I didn't drop $900 on this phone for nothing ><"
Do you also have problems with the volume buttons? If so, then perhaps your keypad service isn't running. You can check this with task manager v3.1

Ahh nifty the volume buttons don't work. Now how to turn this back on... hrmmm... time to poke around.
I had this problem when using MobileMagic for auto rotation using the G-Sensor. Uninstalling this fixed the problem. I now use ChangeScreen and find that this works better for me.
Hope this helps.
cardefbel was right it was the keypad service, I must've turned it off while messing around in the registry, should be more careful next time...
Turned it back on and everything works fine now. Thanks!
I have the stock AT&T Pure.
For some reason I can't figure out, the camera isn't working properly anymore. It starts up fine, the autofocus works, I can enter the Settings and the Advanced Settings menus and change settings without problem.
However, when I touch the shutter button to actually take the photo, the camera responds like it should, makes the shutter sound, and even displays the photo I just took on the screen. But that's where it freezes. The photo "review" never goes away. I've even tried changing the review duration to zero, but when I take a picture the screen just becomes white and freezes there. The "back" arrow button below the screen does not respond when this happens, nor does the Home button. But the "end call" button does take me to the home today screen. From there, if I go back to the camera tab and touch the icon to start the camera, nothing happens. The button responds visually when I touch it, but the camera does not start. Only a soft reset (or sometimes running CleanRAM at Level 3) will make the camera app start again, but still not completely take a photo. No photo is actually stored/saved when this happens.
I thought it might be due to lack of free memory, but even after a soft reset or running CleanRAM this still happens. I even tried reducing the resolution to see if that did anything, but it didn't.
I think it has to be one of the other apps I installed that's interfering with the camera. After a hard reset, the camera worked fine. Then after I installed my apps this started happening again. Nothing I can see in the registry settings for the camera look incorrect or out of the ordinary. Only one or two of my apps have functions that access the camera, and the same thing happens when I enter the picture mode in them. I removed both of them but still have the same experience.
Any ideas?
I'm afraid there is no other way:
- hard reset
- install your apps one by one, softresetting each time
- check the camera
- install another app
...
In the end you will know what's wrong.
Ok tried to find out if this was common, saw a thread or two discussing possible toggle design change (to the location design) but as far as I can see that just switches on the location service which I really dont want. Even tapping disagree at the location notice there is no gps symbol in the bar at the top of the screen as before... cannot find the toggle in the swipe down bit either... how do we turn gps on and off as before or is that just not possible anymore...
ok if there is no way to turn gps on without using location now that the turn on gps button is gone, does anyone know of a way to make a button that turns on gps or is anyone trying to make one or indeed has made one... tia...

The icon of GPS changed in android 4.4.2 for LOCATION button.
COUNCIL: You can try to root ur device, install Xposed Framework and add the module: [KK] GPSNotification - Bring back the GPS Icon.

Would like to know the answer to this issue, also if anyone knows how to change from high accuracy mode to use GPS only. I understand you can change modes by selecting it, however when I restart it defaults back to high accuracy mode.
Dear all
I just got my phone, installed everything and had to find out that suddenly the upper part of my screen stopped working. I couldn't swipe down from the notification bar anymore, it suddenly stopped working.
I deleted the last installed apps but that didn't help.
But right before doing a factory reset I found out that when you've selected the option in Cerberus to disable the status bar on lockscreen the upper part of the screen stops working. In ALL apps!
So if you're running into the same issue - it's not a hardware issue. Just disable that option and everything will work again as it should.
Just turn the screen off and on a couple times. Fixes the issue for me. Works fine.
I am facing this problem since tomorrow in my oneplus 5, after using my device for some time my navigation keys doesn't work anymore. I have to use software nav buttons to navigate accross system and the home button only functions when i require to input my finger print(like unlocking device or in app locker).
After doing a reboot the navigation keys function properly but after sometime the problem again starts.
!!None of the hardware buttons are working(navigation keys, volume buttons), except the power button and alwrt slider if that counts!!
The keypad test(in the list of factory tests in*#808#) was past, as i have mentioned after reboot everything works fine. The problem appears after the device hasn't been used for some time. Then if i do keypad teat on pressing navigation and volume buttons nothing happens, same happens for powwr button too although it works fine. Alert slider passes the test and works perfectly too.
!!No the phone hasn't got any physical or water damage.!!
My best guess is that i was playing with some settings action in secure settings plug in for tasker that might have caused this but i don't know which one caused this as i was playing with settings related with display and sound. See if this is any help.
Yesterday night i rebooted and everything was working fine and i locked the phone and slept. In morning my battery was below 10% and battery saver mode was activated. When i tried to use everything was working fine untill I plugged the phone in and the hardware buttons stopped working then after charging i tried to enable battery saver mode to see if the buttons work again but they didn't.
Please help with this and i have done cache cleaning please post something useful.
Factory Reset/Clean Install. This is the only advice that makes any sense.
Is there any way to just reset settings valuew to default without losing any data.

You can try to just dirty flash the rom within twrp. But I recommend to make backups before.
Wel, the issue was with auto input intercepting my buttons input, on disabling that everything is fine.

What do you mean by "auto input"? Are you referring to the "Autofill service" option?

if your issue comes back it might be part of a larger problem others are having https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...ing-on-screen-navbar-setting-disabled.979545/
