I have a pair of Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi's (pretend that's a link - lol, unverified poster) which are designed for use with an iphone, but to my delight, worked perfectly fine with the Moto Droid I was borrowing. The only application I had tried to use the control button with was Pandora, and it would pause and play fine. Fast forward to now, when I have a Droid X and no longer have the Moto Droid. With the Droid X, I installed doubletwist before installing pandora (never installed it on my Moto Droid) and now doubletwist has a monopoly on the play/pause button. When I uncheck the setting in doubletwist that grants it use of the headset controls, then no application will work with the control. Installing doubletwist was one of the first things I did when I got the Droid X, so I can't confirm that the controls will even work with Pandora, etc, but I would think with it sharing the same DSP (guessing), etc, that it should work the same as on the Moto Droid.
What do?

I'm looking for good app to remotely play music on a Windows 7 box, via my EVO. Basically like a music remote. I've seen Gmote, but that's VERY basic & super limited with features.
What I want to do is control the music on my HTPC, which is connected to a Onkyo receiver that has multi room speaker support. More or less, I have company over and I can pick up my EVO and scroll the list and pick something that plays.
I know that there is iTunes remote, http://www.appbrain.com/app/hyperfine.hftunes.release , but I don't want ruin a perfectly good windows box with iCrap
"Subsonic" http://www.subsonic.org/pages/index.jsp looks cool, but near as I can tell, that streams TO your device & doesn't allow for remote play control.
I run Boxee on my HTPC but the Boxee remote app is pretty much useless as it doesn't display anything other than song playing.
Any ideas? I'm looking for something that displays current song, album art and maybe even has a shuffle feature.

Install XBMC and use the official XBMC Remote. It actually works very well. It even shows album art. Plus it will show incoming texts and calls on the XBMC screen

Hmm...that does look pretty nice. Thanks!
This is way off topic...but shouldn't that remote support Boxee since it is based off the same open source that XBMC is built off of? It doesn't matter all that much, but it would be nice to just run one app for everything on the HTPC. I tried to sync it up, but either I have the cfg wrong or it isn't supported.
I have Remote Desktop and PhoneMyPc on my Evo. Both have their ups and downs, but both work great for controlling my library. I have my PC setup next to my TV/Receiver, so when I listen to music, I used to just carry around a wireless mouse and switch the tracks. But that means my tv was left on all the time, when alll I was doing was listening to music. Now I just carry my Evo around, and can browse the FULL library, type in songs into search, and control volume.

Only one way to find out. Should take you less time to try it than to wait for a response.

Hi everyone! I use the the headset that came with my Desire to control music while I'm biking to class. Problem is, I want to use Cubed, but every time I press play (or whatever other button) it automatically runs WinAmp. I tried uninstalling that, then it started running Music Mod. I uninstalled that, and now it doesn't run anything.
My question is, how can I get it to run Cubed when I use the controls on the headphones?
Thanks!
First of all I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read/respond to my post. I have an unrooted Note 3.
My issue is when I use my jaybird bluebuds x or monster isport freedom bluetooth headsets with my Note 3 the next track buttons do not work. Well.. let me rephrase that. When I hit the next track button is launches the samsung music app and skips that track.
So the button is being registered but it's not working for the active player. Like if I'm listening to pandora and hit next track then the samsung music app launches and skips that track instead.
Is there any way to force (using tasker or something without rooting) the phone/headset to recognize the current active music player instead of the default samsung player?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
It's more likely the app doesn't recognize headset controls.
I've never had stock music player pop up when using the controls with N7player. But it has a menu for headset controls...

Disable the Samsung player in Settings and try? I usually always keep the default apps all disabled and use PowerAMP for my music, never fails me when I use my BlueBuds X.

How do I disable the samsung player in settings? Are you referring to settings for bluebuds bluetooth, cuz I didn't know you could specify specific aps.
I prefer to stream my music so I don't have to organize my music. That's why I use pandora/slacker and not PowerAMP. Thanks though.

Your phone settings. Manage Apps, All, find your music player, click on it, Disable.

I have a Moto X Pure Edition running Android 6 Marshmallow.
I have Vanilla Music, Google Play Music, and VLC installed. I had installed Noozxoide EIZO-rewire (one of the variants), and it does not work. All other equalizers I tried don't work either. I know how to set the equalizer, and I've tried the AudioFX data clearing trick. It don't work.
Have any of you had this problem, or found a working equalizer?
I know for a fact the eizo doesn't work anymore; correct me if I'm wrong, for any phone with lollipop or better.
For AudioFX, only works with the music app it comes with. Are you rooted? I use v4a, why don't you use that? Or the moto equalizer? Just curious I guess

Why I can't use V4A... My phone is still under warranty.
Why not use Moto's equalizer? It's not really adjustable... I like full frequency adjustment like the regular stock ICS equalizer had.
I use THIS. Then I uninstall the vp4, and XTREMEmusic apps. Sounds good enough for me, with my LG-HBS700's.
