it's a hack for the 2.1 builds. Not the 2.2. Should update the library files with different settings to get a louder sound. Search for Louder Volume Hack V3.6 i believe.
Doesn't work for me though, (FroyoStone).
Same here...have no problems with the 2.12 radio. Dont have problems with the touchscreen now, im using everything that came with the shubcraft froyo v1.2b package. Didnt change anything.

What is the best radio for the duration of the battery.
thanks
I am running radio 2.14.50 and mattc leo android and everything is smooth. Haven't seen a BSOD since ...ever.
I have been using android for the past week and it's working great. Apps are downloading and installing from the market, OS is very responsive.
I honestly don't see a reason to reboot to windows. This is a dream come true.
Yeah many people dont realize that most problems occur with other radios for me 212. its the only stable one againt phone not waking up, freezes etc
Is there a build with no dropped 3G, no SOD and no touchscreen pauses?
I absolutely love Mattc's build and all the effort everyone has put into them, especially the kernel devs. I think it's incredible these work as well as they do and I'm using the mattc Evo Leo version as my every day OS....
I ask this question because mattc Leo + Froyo with Sense seems to have the screen pause and occasional SOD. I switched to the new mattc's EvoLeo which fixed the pause and SOD completely, but now my 3G dropps randomely. Usually when I'm using it heavily, it drops once every 15 minutes or so, but I've gone hourse without a drop as well..... Anyhow, I was just hoping there was a build, that fixes these or a tweak or kernal replacement that fixes these...
Also, The Evo Leo build is so stable that I don't see any reason why you would bother booting from NAND. Boot once from Windows Mobile and stay in Android as long as you want.... Its nice to, at least, have the option to boot WM... Maybe there are other reasons to put Android on the NAND?
Thanks,

lol not yet so far
yes there is more infor here
I've been using the following setup and it works very well for daily use (no SOD etc)
mdeejay Froyo Sense v. 2.2 with kernel from hastarin, v4.1
radio 2.14.50.04
winrom artemis 34.5 (not that i think it matters)
hspl3
Just be careful how you use SetCPU/ATK Froyo and other applications that interfere with the OS since this isn't a device with Android at it's core.
Oh, as for SetCPU, I set 384MHz min/max, userspace, while screen is off and I get ~5-6 mAh consumption while screen is in standby with WiFi off and about 60mAh with it on. I know it's not the lowest freq but it should be a good trade-off since my phone wakes up very fast.
OMG there totally is! I can't believe you haven't found that post! I also can't believe all of these other devs haven't found that post and copied the solution too! Lucky me that I found this next to the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow sitting next too Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.
I have one!
Mdeejay 3.1 Desire HD
Nothing to say....smooth and fast....no drops on 3G or everything else.
the only issue is the camera.
With everyone using a different WinMo ROM, radio, hspl (maybe), and even some hardware differences, it's impossible to say.
I just played with different builds until I found one that works for me. Currently running HyperDroid 1.6
Phiredrop Skinny EVO has been perfect!
I used the beta version for days with no problems and now have the 1.1 version and it is perfecto!

u got a link to this build?
i use hyperdroid 1.5 stockified is almost perfect, i have minimal issues. the only major for me is that it uses rmnet instead of ppp. ppplease?
RmNet builds work for practically everybody with no dropped connections. Touchscreen pauses have not been completely eliminated yet, but they can be almost completely eliminated in regular use by either disabling the G-Sensor, or disabling home-screen orientation through ADWLauncher or LauncherPro.
PPP builds still drop connections for many people. A common workaround is to enable/disable airplane mode to soft-reset the connection.
EVO-based kernels use PPP. Nexus-One kernels use RmNet. Therefore, to avoid dropped mobile connections, use any Nexus-One based build.
Since you like MattC's builds, the last build of his that was RmNet based was 1.7. If you don't have a copy of it saved, you can download it here: (RapidShare link) http://rapidshare.com/files/416256755/mattcfroyosense1.7rmnet.zip
Personally, I am using HyperDroid 1.6 This build uses RmNet and is quite reliable. I've used it with Radios 2.12 and 2.14, with the VBN WM Rom, and have not experienced any SoDs, dropped 3g, or touchscreen freezes. Links are still on the front page of this forum.
Bangster v1.4 (self-modified)
#hastarin r6 kernel
#vbndroid winmo rom
#2.14 radio with hspl3
#stock 16g sdcard formatted with 32k cluster size
RESULT
#only 3mA batery usage during standby with wifi off!!
#great data speed and no dropped connection using PPP.
#no SOD, robot voice touchscreen freezes whatsoever.
#no issues with bluetooth
#802.11n Wifi with hastarin r6 kernel
#great graphic performance with darkstones graphic tweaks(included in hastarin kernel)
Hope this helps.

Using Radio 2.12
Been using for more than a week and no SOD, 3G works fine.
I did a lot of trial & error with different WM Roms and Android builds and this has been the most stable choice for me.
You may wanna play with this one too:
# [BUILD][29.09.2010][FroyoStone Sense - V3.1][Kernel: darkstone]
darkstone's in the same league as mattc so this may turn out to be one of the perfect ones hopefully!.
Installed it over mattc leoevo 1.1 (due to data issues) and been running it with no issues so far..btw i have only tested data both wifi and cellular n some other stuff therefore the rest will still have to be checked out.
I second the phiremod build, definitely is a daily rom for me. I used to get SODs from every rom until I started using his.
I have very good usage with MIUI beta4 and mdeejay 1.5evo . These 2 roms are close to perfect , no screen freeze, no drop 3G, no touch screen issues, no sod
I am on stock rom 1.66 asian rom and radio 2.12
Of these 2 miui is best and fantastic fast very stable . Only issue is the ipone like ui. It's additional features is way ahead of htc desire hd new sense which I tested too.

I've been using this build too. It's BEAUTIFULLY smooth and works just fine.
Also, I believe (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) the SOD's have more to do with radio and hspl than anything. I was using a 2.08 radio and hspl 2 and I was getting SOD all of the time. As soon as I upgraded to 2.12 radio (and now 2.14) as well as hspl3 I have not had SOD once. During this process I was using the same Android and WM builds, so it seems it was the radio and hspl.
Im new to all this and still experimenting.
So far Hyperdroid 1.6 is doing the best job for me. I have had a few issues with 3G here and there, And getting this Touchscreen freeze problem a couple of times a day..
I am running
Latest Chuckyrom
Radio 2.14
8gb Sandisk Class 6 SDcard formatted 32kb cluster size
I am wondering how much influence windows mobile rom has on these android builds? I am happy with hyperdroid 1.6, without going rom flash crazy if someone could recommend a base windows mobile that plays well with this I will give it a whirl.

Yeah, I'm with pack21 on this build - it's been great on my combo (see sig'), but I do however suffer from occasional data drops. It's great for daily use otherwise!
As for a link, that's a bit tricky seeing as the thread containing it was 'lost' when xda suffered it's server issues the other day. It was only up for about 24 hours, and I've not seen a link for it reproduced since. It would be worth your while searching for it though - I think you'll find it would be worth the hassle!
Thanks everyone (except maybe robkoehler) for your very helpful feedback. I was wondering if maybe some people had gotten a version of mattc to work without screen pauses or data drops, but it sounds that hasn't really happened.
I hope I can find Mdeejay 3.1 Desire HD because it sounds like thats a good one to try....
I've been using HSPL2, do you guys really think I'd have better luck with HSPL3? I just hate to mess with HSPL because ... it seems like the most risky thing we have to do to our phones...
I really appreciate the advice and I'll continue to monitor this thread for any more feedback.
last night I tested out two new builds of froyo on hd2, however they both were buggy. I want to know what combination of win mo rom, radio and android build suits you best.
Issues faced were, roms taking more than half hour to load
Also its taking a long time to come out from sleep.
Help me out.

Just so you realise this is the Android DEVELOPMENT forum, so someone will be bound to shoot you down for posting in here, however I'm not a man to hold a grudge.
I'm using:
Chucky Tabtastic WM Rom
Radio 2.12.50_2
Android is atm FroyoStone Sense V2.2 although I will be upgrading that to V3.1 later today. I've had absolutely no problems with 2.2, no sleeps of death, no fast music, no gps or camera problems. The only minor grumble (and it is very minor) is slightly soft earpiece volume in calls.
If you are experiencing slow first boots that is to be expected. It has to create data storage on the first boot and ALWAYS takes a long time. You are not the only person to experience slowness out of sleep, search and you will find several dozen people having the same problems and various workarounds.
I've been using SuperHD2 (clean stock version) for a long time now, I removed the sensor files due to the touchscreen freezes driving me mad and it's been incredibly stable with decent battery life too.
Later on today I'll be test-driving the latest FroyoStone.
Sorry about posting on the thread. Maybe admins will move it to the correct thread.

Yes, he has a lite build in Android development and full builds in Rom section both work well with Android.

Well this thread will be closed pretty soon..!!!
Anyways I guess you should try all the builds & find which suits you the best..!!!
According to no of users, looks, stability etc
1 of the best combinations for now
VBN+HyperDroid
But still, spend sometime & try the 1 that suits you the best..!!!
I tried many combos, and the best one that has given me no issues and the best battery Life, dare I say better battery life than WinMo is, Stock WinMo Rom 2.10.XX with 2.12 Radio and Android 2.2 Build FRG33 mccm v1.5. This combo is kicking butt on my HD2!
Could someone point me toward the vbn rom section ?

I'm using VBN Clarity RC7, and mdeejay's new DesireHD build, and latest 2.14 radio. It runs a lot smoother and faster than darkstone's in my opinion. No Wi-Fi tethering, or camera, but data connection is decent, not too slow. Loving my HD2!
Basically you will want to run all the builds until you find the best one for you. This has always been a personal preference.
Maybe I'm blind, but is there a non-Sense NAND ROM out there yet? I've noticed everything based off the desire HD so far. Ideally, a stock non-sense with MDJ Kernel + CIFS would be perfect.
If not, what would the best nand release to start from and switch launchers/kernels be? I need CIFS support, so the stock Desire one wouldn't work for me unless there's a way to add MDJs kernel to it, and MDJ's roms have way too many customizations for my taste.
Thanks,
B.

CMN is alright.
i get low signal and bad connectivity on that build
you could also give this a try
Nexus2HD nand
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895059
Thanks guys, my search skills must be diminishing with age I didn't try CMN because it said rmnet, and I didn't read the post to see there was a ppp alternative. That being said the nexus one build looks good too. When you had problems with CMN connectivity, were you using ppp or rmnet?
*Update*
Looks like as of today CMN doesn't support PPP despite the first post. And neither does the Nexus One build. Is PPP part of the kernel, or something else? IE if I replace with MDJ kernel, could that enable PPP?
Thanks!
MDJ's kernel has PPP connection i believe. but. im testing his new Super Lite Build

I'm not so sure any of the NAND kernels have PPP actually. Even looking at the MDJ kernel thread, it appears to be using RMNET. This very second I'm watching CMN 6.1 NAND boot up after installing MDJ's kernel onto it though. I think this will be the best combination for me, especially considering the CMN build is missing all the modules anyway, so no WIFI, etc.
Thanks,
B.
let me know how it goes. as i am having no luck.
on any build.
mobile connection drops every 2-3 minutes.
sometimes loss of signal completely
im honestly thinking of going back to SD/RAM builds.
as i never had problems with connection on those builds.

Unfortunately it looks like MDJ's kernel also suffers from the 60ma Bluetooth Drain. And on top of that, no matter what kernel I use the CIFS modules don't work. So, next up will be to try CMN with the kernel from the stock Desire build. No CIFS, but at least I won't have that nasty battery drain.
*EDIT*
Well, for anyone else, don't try that. It won't boot. Time to reflash.
*EDIT2*
I take that back, just be sure to also take the initrd.gz from the DFT build, too.
*EDIT3*
Most likely the last update. DFT kernel wouldn't even turn Bluetooth on. There must be differences in the system.img causing this to happen, and I don't have time at the moment to debug, so I'll just leave BT turned off
hi,
i was wondering, now with all the android roms beeing published to xda
i'd realy like to know which rom is actualy the most recent, or the best, with the least errors and best to work
and another thing,
is it possible to delete windows from my phone and let my phone start directly from android, to avoid the long boot time?
@natihorny - Here's a link to TechBurrow's thread. There is a video/ links for what you need to do to flash your phone with Android and have it boot up directly to it without dealing with WM. I've yet to do this, as I'm still at work, but plan on giving it a try in the coming days.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894423
I would suggest that you dont use NAND builds yet they are far from perfect but instead you should use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847631 it is motomans black and blue build wich is by far the best sense android build even much better than any ram and nand build and as for winmo flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893438 and it will boot android just as fast as any nand build and you will never have problems with this setup
this is a very, very subjective thread. there is not "best" rom--it's all about what you're looking for in a rom. for example, vanilla froyo vs. desire vs. desire hd vs. miui vs. gingerbread. or sd vs. sd ram vs. nand.
personally, i'm a proponent of sd ram. i haven't actually used it long term, but it seems to be very fast (and based on darkstone, it's even faster than nand). especially with nand being very young in its development, i would stick to sd for now. plus, it's much easier to flash and fix in case you corrupt your rom somehow. there's a few out there (just look for "[SD] [RAM]" in the descriptions), but one i'd like to point out is darkstone's superram froyo. i'm kinda busy right now, but that's definitely the rom i'm going to be using and modding to my liking.
good luck and have fun flashing!
ok, thanks everyone for the helpfull answers,
i had still one other question and thats,
i just bought a new car with bluetooth function, though my cell phone and the bluetooth of the car don't connect like it should, (thats why i wanted an android with the least amount of problems) and i was wondering if the fact that the bluetooth is only visible 120 seconds may cause the problem.

The build you are speaking of is the desire hd. I didn't suggest that build because it is laggy and slow. Even after 10 restarts and 2 days of use it still laggs alot compared to the one I posted in B4. Take it from someone that has tried every build available the motoman build is BY FAR the BEST after you get over all the HOOPLAH over the new htc sense wich is cool i'll admit but the coolness wears off after about 2 days and your just stuck with a laggy non responsive HD build. now others will post how good thier HD build works after hours of tweeking and reading and tweeking and reading. But trust me you will go back to the motoman build after you try the hd for a few days
