I solved the Lag problem within a few days.
Dump Blur, Load ADW.Launcher. No Lag.
Yes, what lag problem?
Don't know, i would assume lockscreen, the only place where there is lag. As well as the app menu.

Yup.. I use LauncherPro and most of the lag issues have gone. No lag from desktop to desktop (7 in use) and no lag in the app drawer (5 across).
The "lag" is due to a lack of caching by the native UI. Use LauncherPro and you can have it cache everything, and you're good to go.
I didn't start the new to topic as to say that i have lag, just that whatever he had coming shud b cool. Sorry guys didn't mean to mislead

Yeah, I just stopped using Blur and use LauncherPro and the device is as fast as I could ever want it to be. FroYo will make this thing perfect (or at least good enough for the next 22 months or so until I have an upgrade )
I sincerely hope it's somehow related to the recent Galaxy S "lag fix", that made quadrant scores go from 800-900 to 2000-2200 =O
droiddog.com/android-blog/2010/08/galaxy-s-lag-fix-makes-phones-fly/
Oh, how happy I would be.
Yes that's what i was referring to originally, hoping for something similar to the galaxy s lag fix.

Saw where D2 got 1458 in quadrant. Granted when i first tested my x it got 670 and went way up after thy so maybe that was just abad run. But if that's all the increase we get from froyo ill b pissed considering every other phone tripled or quadrupled its score. That would be freaking ridiculous.

There was a screenshot where someone (presumably someone testing 2.2) did Quadrant and got an 800. if it's legit, it was probably just JIT wasn't enabled and the developer stuff was on.

Well, you don't really "dump" blur, you just load/use another home/launcher.
In the market you will want to look at adw.launcher and launcher pro. There are others, but I think these 2 are the most popular around here.
Once you install it, you can make it the default home launcher when you press the home key.
Some remnants of blur will still be there (It's probably going to be a little bit longer before someone figures how to completely extract blur without breaking the phone).
The alternate launchers do a better job of caching data in the app drawer and widgets, so the tend to run smoother/faster.

Kevlar,
The ROMs that are the Vanilla ROM's with JIT are the ones that pull down high 4's and low 5's. Aloysius is a sense based the ave scores on these ROMs are 2.8-3.2. I am currently running sense-able and get 3.2. I have ran Eris lightning bolt and gotten 5. Oh my phone was at 729 when doing this.

Why? Aloysius with OC is plenty fast. You're not gonna get it up to like Nexus one speed if that's what you're trying for. But anyway, I think tainted vanilla would be a good one. I would say vanilladroid but it's outdated and I had lots of problems with it.

does your camera take 20 seconds to load up?

While the Hero is kinda slow when stock, I've got no real complaints. Jit, in my opinion, is almost useless as it makes very little real difference. I also used to care about getting the highest possible linpack score until I realized how unstable it can be.this way. Point is, your Hero may be slow, but if you can't change that then nobody can and you shouldn't be aimlessly *****ing about its shortcomings.

1.28GHz IS NOT REAL
I know I posted it, and people have been running it. But after looking over the code more last night, I realized that I had been had. I took the word of another developer on the line for 1.28GHz, added it to my kernel, and it magically worked. After looking at it closer, whether intentional or not, he had the multiplier set at 0x1E(30), which is 1.152GHz. So even though it's reporting 1.28GHz, it's really running at 1.152GHz.
I've learned my lesson trusting someone else for what I should have looked into more closely, and I hope you all don't think worse of me for doing that. I apologize for leading people astray with this, but hey, at least I'm man enough to admit it.
Again, I really feel bad for misleading people on this, it's not in my nature to do that, ok maybe some, but not with something like this.
With that all said, I could do one showing maybe 4.71GHz, now that'd be awesome for screenshots. lol

No worries. The cool thing is that my phone was actually mostly stable at 1.15 which was never really possible before. Usually i get freezes and bootloops. On yours the worse i got was an app quitting once in awhile.

Not a problem man, it wasn't like you were doing it on purpose. So all is good. We appreciate your work!
Makes sense. I tried it on the Feather ROM and was getting almost exactly the same performance/scores.
Much appreciated for coming clean and letting everyone know. I doubt anyone would hold it against you.
Z,
You are a good person for accepting the blame for somebody else's mistake. Either way your kernels are better than almost all others on the desire ports so I am sticking to them. Happy with the performance and it being stable at 1.152. Made me follow you on twitter.
2 other comments/questions:
1. did u take out the debug script that you had posted about on twitter? I did not see battery loss anyways...
2. I tried your incredible AOSP kernel on ultimate droid 1.0.0 but it turned the touch screen into unresponsive mode. Did dalvik wipe etc. Given that UD is like CM, I would have thought it would need an AOSP kernel but perhaps I was wrong. Could you please take a look at that?
Thanks and keep up the good work.

What is your best guess on when it will come out?
What makes you hesitant to try it?
I'm going to say it won't come out at all as the minor issues with it will cause VZW to reject it until those issues are fixed, and at that point, they will decide to just incorporate the positives from DJ05 into the Froyo.

Amen scriz WTF... can't read bold writing in a sticky. Besides I heard DJ05 was a virus. that VZW was going to use to nuke all of our phones. Then they will offer us the DX, but it will be infected with an unknown virus right next to the mouthpiece. Once it has been inhaled we will begin massive group hallucinations that we are at a Kenny G concert. Suddenly, Rick Sanchez comes on stage and begins a rant against the Daily Show and we all agree with him that Jon Stewart is a bigot and Sarah Palin should be President. We go to the voting booth and begin to process our votes when we realize that we did not get dressed and the polling place is a strip club with zombie strippers clawing at our junk. Bust out the good old baseball bat and start killing zombies. Just then your mom walks in and catches you masturbating in the bathroom and screams. Mom!!! all I wanted was DJ05!!

DJ05 is a figment of your imagination. Its not real. Everyone who doesn't know Verizon is releasing android 2.3 gingerbread next week for the fascinate.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
No ROMs or updates for this phone will be incredibly worthwhile at ALL until Froyo comes around.
Virtually all of those ROMs out there are just ROMs that I could patch together myself, on my stock Fascinate ROM.
DJ05 offers some improvements, but doesn't really help the big problem(s) of not having Frozen Yogurt on "the fastest phone around".
This is supposed to be a top-of-the-line Android phone, on Verizon.
My HTC Eris sports 2.2. It's a sad time for Android users to be stuck with 2.1 on a beautiful brand new handset like the Fascinate.
Once we get CyanogenMod and other worhtwhile ROMs ported, life will be better.
The point? Waiting for DJ05 is like waiting for 'a few bug fixes' - when we really are holding our breath for Froyo.
I hope it all comes out at once, soon. I'll be saddened and disheartened to go into 2011 without Froyo, when I got this phone to be on the cutting edge. Not on the introductory-android-phone-OS edge.

I didnt post what you quoted so I cant speak for him but I will elaborate, slightly. I have gingerbread CM7 on the Captivate and there are several things I like about it.
First and formost, and this is petty, the screen does the "crt monitor" screen on/off effect animation thingy. Its superficial, but awesome. There are several other interface changes that are an improvement imo.
Secondly, native wifi internet calling via SIP. It still takes some setting up and know how but you only have to read to learn.
Of course there are "speed" improvement like always.
Theres a Download (manager) app.
Finally, security. You probably read about that already.
